Outside her ho stood a middle-aged woman of around forty, neatly dressed with hair combed in an orderly fashion, her hands folded and hanging in front of her, as if she had been waiting there for a while.
Seeing her, she imdiately approached, "Hello, Miss Sterling."
Ava, I have a surprise for you.
Suddenly, the words Jace Kingsley had said to her flashed through her mind. Ava Sterling looked again at the person before her, who was clearly a servant, respectful and attentive, and she opened her mouth slightly, "Did Jace send you?"
The servant lowered her head, "Yes, Mr. Kingsley asked to take good care of Miss Sterling during this ti."
Ava Sterling: "..."
This isn’t a surprise; it’s a fright, isn’t it?
With this servant around, how could she go back to his place?
Ava Sterling imdiately pulled out her phone to call Jace Kingsley, but upon seeing the ti displayed on her phone, already five in the morning, Ava Sterling started to feel a headache.
Jace Kingsley was too ticulous, to the point where she couldn’t do anything about it.
"Co in with then."
Ava Sterling was also overwheld by exhaustion and didn’t want to fuss anymore, intending to sleep first and deal with it once refreshed.
Bringing the servant into the house, she briefly introduced the household, then said, "I’m going to take a nap, make yourself at ho."
The servant glanced toward the kitchen, then at the ti, and said, "Miss Sterling, I’ll prepare breakfast for you now and you can eat before going to sleep."
"No need, your Mr. Kingsley made fish soup for three hours ago, I’m quite full now."
"Alright, then I’ll make lunch, and Miss Sterling can eat when she wakes."
"Suit yourself."
Having said that, Ava Sterling closed the door and lay down on the bed, hugging the sunflower that Lauren Howell had placed there for her, burying her face into the large round face of the sunflower, and drifted into sleep.
The servant stood outside, listening to the quiet inside, and after confirming Ava Sterling was asleep, she went to the kitchen, took out her phone, and dialed Jace Kingsley’s number.
At this mont, Jace Kingsley had returned to Silvermist Isles, located in the well-known villa district within Aurelia.
This was a property he had purchased recently in Aurelia; he planned to spend a significant amount of ti in Aurelia, so he needed a stable residence.
As he entered the villa, the lights all turned on in succession.
He ascended the stairs.
At this mont, his phone rang, he took out his phone and glanced at the caller, then answered, "Hello."
"Mr. Kingsley, Miss Sterling just got ho and fell asleep."
"Just got ho?"
Jace Kingsley’s footsteps halted at the top of the stairs.
The servant sensed sothing was amiss in his tone, checked the ti on her phone, then responded, "Miss Sterling arrived ho ten minutes ago, she should be asleep now."
Ten minutes ago...
According to the ti since he left, more than twenty minutes had passed, she should have returned ho much earlier.
Jace Kingsley’s expression shifted slightly, "Is she alone?"
"Yes, Miss Sterling is alone."
"Hmm, I understand."
"Take good care of her, and call imdiately if she feels uncomfortable in any way."
"Yes."
The servant was about to hang up the phone, but at that mont, Jace Kingsley’s voice ca through, "And also."
The servant paused and brought the phone back, "Mr. Kingsley, please go ahead."
"Keep an eye on the people around her and what they say."
"Understood."
The call ended, and the servant looked at the still silent bedroom, then returned to the kitchen to continue with her chores.
Jace Kingsley put down his phone, his fingers clasping tightly, his expression deep.
Ava, I must understand your relationship with Poe Vaughn, so I can know how to proceed.
