"Who is this?"
A familiar voice ca through, and Ava said directly, "It’s ."
"Ava?"
Upon hearing her voice, Eric imdiately took his phone to check. It was a brand new number, not Ava’s previous one.
Putting down her docunts, she picked up the phone and asked, "Why did you change your number?"
"It’s a long story, so I won’t go into it. I just want to ask if my current job needs to be paused."
Having her rest for so long, she definitely wouldn’t be willing.
And she believed Lauren must have already inford Eric about her situation.
Eric sighed, "I know what you want to say, but given your current physical condition, even if I want to let you go back to work, they wouldn’t dare use you. You know it’s impossible."
With such a serious injury, anything happening during a shoot or show could be life-threatening.
Ava pursed her lips, her face clouded with heavy gloom, "One month."
Eric was stunned.
Ava gripped her phone tightly, "I’ll make sure I’m fit enough to handle work in one month, without any issues."
She knew her own body, and after a month of proper recuperation, she’d have no problem getting back to work.
Eric knew Ava’s temperant. She was never one to sit idle. Having her rest for several months was out of the question, but given the situation Lauren ntioned, even a month seed unlikely.
Eric thought for a mont and said, "How about this, starting from today, we’ll hear what the doctor says in a month. If the doctor says you can do so simple work, then okay. But if not..."
"No problem!"
Before Eric could finish, Ava interrupted, her voice full of determination.
Eric laughed, "Alright then, let’s agree on that."
"Alright!"
Ava hung up the phone directly, but just then, Eric’s voice ca through again, "By the way, there’s one more thing."
Ava paused, then picked up her phone, "Go ahead."
"You’re aware I’m looking for models, right?"
"Yes."
"I’m planning to have you train as their teacher for the new models."
Ava frowned montarily, "? Are you sure?"
Without waiting for Eric’s reply, Ava continued, "I’m not a patient person, and I have no tolerance. You could maybe get to do sothing else, but being a teacher is absolutely not possible."
Ava was particularly self-aware. She knew perfectly well what her temperant was. She was not cut out to be a teacher, not in this lifeti.
"Haha, I know, but I still want you. I need soone with a bad temper like you."
Ava raised an eyebrow, "Really? When I start criticizing people, I don’t hold back, and if I get upset, I might even get physical."
"As long as you agree, everything else is not a problem."
Ava’s eyes shifted slightly, "When?"
Eric paused, and said, "Are you agreeing to this?"
Ava smirked, "Answer my first question."
Eric, hearing what she said, figured she probably agreed, unexpectedly. She thought Ava would refuse and that she’d have to persuade her quite a bit.
Eric smiled, "I was originally thinking you’d start this work after finishing up your current tasks when you return, but now..."
"Half a month."
"I’ll go as soon as I’m discharged."
Eric was surprised, "Half a month won’t do, right? Your injury..."
"Isn’t there money in being a teacher?"
Eric: "..."
Ava and Eric talked for about half an hour, and after the call ended, she was quite satisfied and in a good mood.
Interrupting work ans interrupting inco; she didn’t want her earnings to decrease. Now that she can make money from elsewhere, she naturally welcod it.
However, taking up a teaching job, which is thankless and exhausting, was sothing she never would have agreed to before. But now, there isn’t much choice, is there?
After hanging up, Ava put down her phone and relaxed completely.
Only now did she feel the pain in her hand and chest.
Damn it, she really hit hard this ti. If she had known, she would’ve run away, avoiding such injuries for nothing.
Ava looked at her hand wrapped in gauze, and then at her chest bandaged under the hospital gown, cursing Joyner a million tis.
Next ti she sees that bitch, she’ll tear her apart!
Damn it!
After Ava woke, she ate sothing and used the bathroom. Though she was in pain, she felt much more spirited.
The doctor ca to examine her and told her so precautions, which she listened to carefully.
If she didn’t heal well, she couldn’t work to earn money. She was clearly aware of what was more important.
Lauren stood by the bedside, listening attentively and earnestly as well, while Vincent was both advising and watching over Ava.
Soone had asked him to help look after Ava during this ti. The main issue was Ava’s bone injury, and that was the Donovan Family’s specialty. He knew exactly how to help Ava recover better and faster.
He agreed to help, and didn’t even need to discuss it with the hospital as Poe handled it all. He just needed to be present.
So now he was Ava’s attending physician.
Previously, in Poe’s arms, Ava, injured and clawing like a roaring lion, seed too intimidating and unapproachable.
But now, she was awake, her clear eyes open, her long dark hair spread around, her face bare without makeup, fresh and clean, her skin pale.
No anger, no rage, nothing wild and reckless, she listened quietly, her beautiful face like a white lotus after the rain, pure and lovely.
Ava indeed had an innocent-looking face that instantly drew people to like her.
Vincent turned his gaze away and said, "That’s all for now."
Lauren imdiately said, "Thank you, Doctor. I rembered everything you just said!"
Lauren’s sycophantic deanor, eyes sparkling again, obviously smitten.
Ava rolled her eyes and looked at Vincent, "Is it really going to take half a month before I can be discharged? Can’t I be discharged earlier?"
"Or can’t I recover faster?"
Before Vincent could answer, she thought of sothing and said quickly, "Isn’t technology very advanced nowadays? As long as there’s money, you can heal quickly."
As she spoke, the innocence and charm in her deanor vanished instantly, leaving only that voice, naturally soft-spoken. Even when she said such clueless things, she wasn’t annoying.
Vincent looked at Ava’s bright, clear eyes, filled with innocence and naivety, and smiled, "Even the most advanced technology requires ti."
"However, fifteen days is my maximum estimation. If you recover well, you might be discharged in under fifteen days."
Ava’s eyes brightened. Wasn’t this exactly the answer she wanted?
"Okay, thank you, Doctor. I’ll follow your advice to get well soon."
Her eyebrows arched brightly, and even the smile at her lips beca wanton, more dazzling than the sunlight outside.
Vincent, seeing her like this, obviously forgot they’d t before, and smiled, "Then have a good rest. If you need anything, just have your assistant call ."
"Okay, okay, don’t worry, Doctor, I’ll definitely find you if there’s any problem."
These words weren’t from Ava but from Lauren.
Ava looked at Lauren’s starry eyes and rolled her eyes again.
Look at this disgrace.
Vincent left the hospital room and took out his phone to call that person.
That person had said, call him back after Ava wakes up.
But just as he was about to call, a call ca in.
