The crowd also began to simr, wondering whether Li Ling had been truly done in by that attack; due to the lingering chaotic energy in the debris area, they couldn’t scan with their spirit senses lest they suffer backlash.
Both the crowd and the Hall Masters waited with bated breath to see the outco as the dust rapidly cleared, but Shen Ziyan had not changed her disposition since the mont Li Ling had been struck. Rather, her eyebrow rose slightly in interest, sensing sothing that made her feel that this young man was like a magician with a bag of endless tricks.
Indeed, the dust soon cleared and Li Ling’s state was revealed to all.
The crowd gasped collectively, their expressions changing greatly as many stood up in disbelief. The Hall Masters in the stands followed them in this regard, their expressions pale as they gazed upon the young man amidst the debris who was missing both his arms, a foot, and half of his lower jaw.
His torso was like a sieve, with countless small- to dium-sized holes in which his organs and bones could be seen, and his attire was completely in wretched tatters.
This alone would not have warranted such a strong reaction from the crowd as to how he survived that, but what made all stand to their feet was the state of Li Ling, who was sohow still standing with a casual grin on his face.
"Not bad, that one actually tickled." Li Ling chuckled in a provocative tone that would have been amusing given his current state if not for the changes going on with him.
First and foremost, Li Ling, despite being so severely wounded that he should have his life hanging by a thread, was incredibly vivacious and energetic; his voice was clear as if he had just taken a soothing nap!
Second and more terrifying, his wounds had completely frozen up as they were, not worsening at all, nor did any blood leak from his body, though this could be attributed to his mastery over his Blood Aura as well as his body refinent achievents.
But the third and final nail in the coffin was the green light that glowed around his form, which caused his terrifying injuries to not only stop in place, but gradually heal. His severed arms and foot regrew slowly from their stumps as if they were new branches from a tree, while his visible organs through the holes were sealed by newly grown flesh that was of the sa quality as what had been there before.
This sight left the crowd unable to say a word, their lips trembling as they stood in stupefaction, wondering if their eyes were deceiving them, trying desperately to deny reality. If this was the case for them, then one could imagine the state of Li Ling’s opponent, Shen Taixu, who simply dropped to the ground with a look of deep incomprehension on his face, as if he had just seen a pig fly.
Fast regeneration was not sothing unseen in the cultivation world. Many demon beasts had this as their natal abilities, especially serpentine- or lizard-type demon beasts which could regrow body parts on demand, and it also wasn’t rare for humanoids or human species—and even cultivators—to have such abilities.
So subgroups of the human race had such traits, like the Berserk Humans of the far east of Tian Ming Continent, and there were physiques that granted regeneration as its main focus, like the 5th-ranked Everlasting Dao Body, or as an aside, like the 9th-ranked Longevity Spirit Body.
But everyone here could tell, using basic senses and knowledge as cultivators, that Li Ling achieved this not through natural blessing, through spirit physiques, or through a consumable or treasure... but through a daoist art!
A daoist art!
This ant that, technically, anyone and everyone could learn this thod and also achieve this level of insane regeneration as long as they could master the intricacies!
Yeah, sure it would be complicated—how could a technique with such absurd regeneration be simple to comprehend? It must also drain a hefty amount of spiritual energy regardless of realm, but how was that a problem?
Compared to having to rely on pills, to being injured and needing dical help, or having a permanent disability due to the lack of options, who cared about re spiritual energy that could be recovered with ease?
After the shock ca the greed.
Li Ling might as well have taken the True Dragon Ball from Majin Three and waved it about in the open, because the revelation of his Restoration Spell had almost the sa effect on people. Especially when they saw him recover to fullness, being hale and hearty once more, many eyes beca red with madness, almost unable to stop themselves from pouncing on the stage.
Li Ling saw this and simply scoffed. If the unique immortal arts from the Infinite Slaughter System were so easy to teach, why wouldn’t he have disguised himself and auctioned them? Or even sold them to the sect’s library for a huge amount of rits?
Why did Li Ling choose the na ’unique immortal arts’, not just ’upgraded daoist arts’?
Because what the system created from nothing was not sothing that should exist in the lower realm and was so complex that if the system did not directly engrave the details into his brain and augnt his body to match it, he wouldn’t even be able to use these abilities.
Thinking they could seize it from him? Just as well, the sect rules allowed him to counter-kill if he was attacked or ambushed first, so if any of these fellows wanted to provide Slaughter Points for him, he was happy to oblige.
But then, Li Ling paused and shook his head wryly. He had beco quite arrogant, even towards those in the Spirit Path of cultivation, all because of one reason: The Tai Xu Mysterious thod!
With his ability to Void Walk, there was essentially only one kind of person who could stop him from escaping a situation, which was those at Void Refinent and above, or those with void-related abilities, treasures, artifacts, or offensive consumables to a lesser degree.
Without this, he wouldn’t have chosen to even start this duel and showcase more of his power freely, nor would he be so confident that he could do away with Shen Taixu in the end, just lanting on how to go about it.
But he shouldn’t beco too sure of himself; there could always be a few Bai Yeguis out there who might be able to give him a surprise...
After adjusting his ntality, Li Ling checked his dantian and found that more than 90% of his magic power was gone, and he could probably only use one weakened cast of either the Fire Stream Art or the teor Spell before things ca to an end.
He could also recharge with Slaughter Points, but he decided to put things to an end before they even began. Glancing at Shen Taixu, who was contemplating what to do next against a foe that could regenerate even near-fatal damage, Li Ling breathed in deeply until his chest beca enlarged, flas licking at the edge of his lips as he breathed out in one go.
A sea of fire spread out from where he spat, covering the entire stage just as it did when he utilized this ability against Bai Yegui, this ti with slightly less effectiveness due to the lack of magic power to fuel it. However, this was not a problem, as the Fire Stream Art at Perfection had the ability to burn the opponent’s energy as fuel to empower itself, sticking like a cancer.
Shen Taixu snapped out of his reverie and imdiately manifested a veil of light to surround himself, isolating the flas which continually licked at the edges and burned them to a crisp. Shen Taixu’s expression beca grim as he sensed that his own dharma power was being rapidly consud as the fla persisted, even showing signs of growing stronger as he grew weaker.
He knew how to break this attack, as it was not infallible, but he did not do so. Rather, he continued to resist foolishly, gritting his teeth in apparent struggle, up until the mont he sensed another attack coming from the right.
Li Ling appeared amidst the flas outside his curtain to the right, where it had been deliberately weakened by the lapping flas, striking with his full-power Blood Aura to create a hole for himself to enter.
Li Ling charged towards Shen Taixu with his full Blood Aura manifested and condensed onto his fist, aiming to unleash his full power against the fellow in order to deal severe damage and end this duel early, striking outward with his true strength.
"Ha! I was waiting for you, brat!" Shen Taixu waited until Li Ling had fully committed to the attack, then roared and suddenly turned, revealing a sneer full of utter malice.
