As Lucas lay in bed scrolling through his phone, a new ssage notification popped up.
It was from Sofia.
He opened the chat and smiled.
"Lucas, my birthday is the day after tomorrow."
"My friends keep asking what the plan is, but I still haven’t decided anything."
"Where do you think we should celebrate?"
Over the next hour, the two of them exchanged dozens of ssages.
Sofia suggested restaurants. Lucas suggested rooftop lounges. She ntioned a karaoke bar, while he recomnded a private dining venue.
Every idea they ca up with had so kind of problem.
So places were too crowded.
Others were too small.
A few were not private enough.
After a while, Lucas shook his head and typed a new ssage.
"Why don’t we just hold it at a villa?"
A few seconds later, he sent her the na of his villa.
After all, the place was enormous.
Just days earlier, it had accommodated dozens of martial artists from two different clans without feeling crowded.
Hosting Sofia’s birthday party would be effortless.
The mont Sofia saw the na, she nearly jumped off her bed.
Her eyes widened in disbelief.
She knew that villa.
Almost everyone in Silvermont knew it.
Rumor had it that a famous celebrity owned the property.
The place was so exclusive that ordinary people couldn’t even book it.
She imdiately sent a voice ssage.
"Lucas, are you serious?"
"Do you know soone who can rent that place for us?"
"How much would it cost?"
Her voice carried both excitent and worry.
She knew Lucas had money.
That much was obvious.
But renting a villa like that for a birthday party still sounded outrageous.
Lucas smiled and replied casually.
"Don’t worry about the cost."
"I’ll handle everything."
Sofia stared at the ssage for several seconds.
A warm feeling spread through her chest.
She trusted Lucas.
For so reason, whenever he said he would take care of sothing, she believed him completely.
The two continued chatting for another hour before switching to a video call.
They discussed decorations.
Food.
Music.
By the ti they finally hung up, it was already late.
Lucas placed his phone on the bedside table and fell asleep almost imdiately.
The next morning, Lucas woke up to sunlight spilling through the floor-to-ceiling windows of his villa.
Today, he was just another college student heading back to class.
After getting dressed, Lucas drove to campus.
The mont he stepped into the classroom, Sofia rushed toward him.
Max had been waiting all morning to give Lucas the latest hot gist that had been spreading across campus.
Unfortunately for him, the mont Lucas walked into the classroom, Sofia rushed over and claid all of his attention.
Max could only stand there awkwardly, watching the two of them chat before quietly returning to his seat.
Sofia did not even notice.
Her entire focus was on Lucas.
She grabbed his arm excitedly and sat beside him.
"I stayed up until two in the morning making plans."
She pulled out her phone and showed him a long list.
"These are the people I want to invite."
"And I was thinking maybe we could decorate the pool area too."
"Do you think we should hire a DJ?"
Lucas listened patiently as she talked.
Her excitent was contagious.
As the class beauty, Sofia naturally had a large social circle.
Lucas had already expected the party to be lively.
Still, Sofia could not stop asking the sa question.
"How do you even know soone with access to that villa?"
"My friends didn’t believe when I told them."
She lowered her voice slightly.
"Honestly... I almost didn’t believe it either."
Then she smiled.
"But if it’s you, I know everything will work out."
There was not the slightest trace of doubt in her eyes.
For a mont, Lucas simply looked at her.
Then he smiled.
"Relax."
"Just focus on enjoying your birthday."
"I’ll take care of the rest."
Sofia’s cheeks turned slightly pink.
She nodded gently.
"Okay."
After surviving another brutal round of lectures, Lucas finally gave up pretending to pay attention.
The professor continued talking enthusiastically at the front of the classroom, filling the board with formulas that most students had already stopped caring about.
Lucas leaned back in his chair and pulled out his phone.
There was sothing more important he needed to handle.
Sofia’s birthday was tomorrow.
Since he had already promised to take care of everything, he was not about to do it halfway.
He scrolled through his contacts and called Mason.
The call connected almost instantly.
"Lucas?"
"Mason, do you know any good event planners?"
There was a brief pause.
"For what?"
"I need soone to decorate my villa."
Lucas said it casually.
"I’m hosting a birthday party for a friend tomorrow."
Silence filled the line.
Then Mason’s voice suddenly rose.
"Hold on."
"You want to host a birthday party in your villa... for soone?"
Lucas frowned.
"What’s wrong with that?"
Mason nearly laughed.
Nothing was wrong with it.
The problem was that Lucas kept saying things that sounded completely insane as though they were ordinary.
A villa worth hundreds of millions.
For a friend.
Mason shook his head helplessly.
"Nothing. Leave it to ."
"I know a high-end event planning company."
"They handle celebrity parties and corporate galas."
"Just send the details."
Lucas nodded.
"I need everything ready by tomorrow evening."
"No problem."
After hanging up, Lucas sent Mason the necessary information before slipping his phone back into his pocket.
A few minutes later, another lecture finished.
Another day spent learning absolutely nothing.
Around him, students began packing their bags and chatting excitedly.
anwhile, a pair of eyes watched Lucas from across the classroom.
Jessica.
Her expression darkened as she listened to Sofia enthusiastically discussing the party with her friends.
She had heard everything.
The villa.
The birthday arrangents.
The excitent.
Every word felt like a slap across her face.
She could not understand it.
Back when they were together, he always counted every dollar carefully.
He hesitated before buying himself new clothes.
He skipped als to save money.
Yet now?
He was hosting parties for other girls.
Buying expensive gifts.
Spending money without a second thought.
The unfairness made her chest tighten.
Three years.
She had been with him for three years.
And not once had he done sothing like this for her.
Jessica bit her lip.
Her eyes filled with resentnt.
Who did Sofia think she was?
And where exactly was Lucas getting all this money?
No matter how much she thought about it, nothing made sense.
Finally, she looked away and forced herself to calm down.
A cold smile slowly appeared on her face.
Fine.
Let him show off.
Her fingers tightened around her pen.
"We’ll see how this pathetic birthday party turns out."
"Idiot."
