Inside William's mind, sixteen ten-ter apple trees grew side by side, half of which were just over halfway to bearing fruit. Budding amongst the leaves of the other eight Elent Farms were a hundred Elent Fruits each, of the Earth, Sound, Blood, Blessing, Curse, Dream, Fate, and Karma Elents respectively.
William had spent almost a Billion Potential Points purchasing and upgrading the eight Farms to A-Rank, and he didn't choose any of these Elents randomly.
The Earth Elent was a gim, since if he could give it a Primary Law, it would be William's current second strongest Elent after Fire. Not to ntion its usefulness in completing the System Quest.
He saw Sound and Blood Deity Shards advertised while in the Treymon Auction House, so William was at least confident that they were obtainable sowhere across the Plane. Blessing, Curse, and Dream were all situationally useful, and they were generally better options than the combat-based Common Elents.
Lastly, the Fate and Karma Elents were chosen simply because they were Mythic Elents, and William respected their strength even though he'd barely used either Elent.
All those Farm upgrades and I haven't spent a single Ascended Point! William couldn't help but feel rich at the mont. He had 164 Ascended Points, which was enough to upgrade any Ascended Talent he wanted as long as they didn't need a secondary item.
This ti, William wasn't as stingy with his Ascended Points.
Instead of upgrading sothing practical like the Fitness Talent, William pushed the Fire Elent Farm from B to S-Rank, spending 1 Ascended Point and one hundred million Potential Points. The number of fruit buds instantly doubled, though their growth progress was staggered.
Most appealing among the flower buds were twenty-five of the new ones, which glowed a vibrant red despite not containing any fruit. These were what the System referred to as Greater Elent Fruits, and consuming them would help William comprehend the Secondary Law of Fire.
He didn't care about the normal Fire Elent Fruits, since he'd fully comprehended the Fire Elent's Primary Law already. The Greater Fruits, though, were a huge bonus. Eating even a single one of these would improve his Fire Elent further, which in turn would develop the tiny Sun in his Solar System.
After confirming that upgrading the Elent Farms past A-Rank was viable, William wanted to upgrade the System as soon as possible so that the upper limit of his Elent Farms would increase. The Rank of the Elent Farms couldn't exceed the System's Rank.
To prepare for when he acquired the other Elental Deity Shards, he also decided to upgrade the other fifteen Elent Farms to S-Rank, though their upgrade wouldn't count towards the System's rank up progress.
14 Ascended Points and a few hundred million Potential Points later, all of William's Farms had now reached S-Rank, each of which would produce 175 Elent Fruits and 25 Greater Elent Fruits by next month. William didn't know what to do with the extra normal Elent Fruits since he couldn't take them out of his ntal space, but he would figure that out another ti.
This ti, William didn't have to think hard at all about which Talent to upgrade, imdiately choosing the Forcefield Talent. It was an Epic Talent, which made its upgrades more expensive, but with the sudden influx of Ascended Points William had enough to upgrade it twice in a row.
With the assassins hanging around, how could William choose any other Talent to upgrade besides a defensive one? The Forcefield worked even while he was asleep, Cultivating, and he guessed that it'd also be active if he was sohow afflicted with a status ailnt.
For an Epic Talent, Forcefield had always been a godlike and absolutely broken ability that had carried William through his journey. He'd be stupid not to upgrade it as far as it could go.

Wha- What?! Since William wasn't logically weighing the value of each upgrade like he usually did, he was caught off guard by the Forcefield Talent's sudden boost. He expanded the System information to see the full details of the upgrade, showing exactly what changed at D-Rank, then at C.
Simply from upgrading to D-Rank, the Forcefield's defensive power went from the middle stages of the Initial Deity Realm, past the upper stages and peak...directly into the Lower Stages of the Deity Realm! Then, the next upgrade sent its defenses to the Deity Realm's Peak!
At the cost of 125 Ascended Points, William beca a walking fortress!
William's gleeful smile expanded when the System sent an upgrade notification. He wiggled back and forth like a fool while the shadowy figure in his Sea of Consciousness beca slightly less obscure.

William's smile dampened when he read the System's upgrade notes. Compared to the last couple of upgrades, this one wasn't as impressive.
Only one Farm Slot and you're going to nerf my best thod of getting answers? System!
-You should be glad that you weren't punished for abusing my power instead.
William frowned, but he couldn't refute the System's words. He purchased a Poison Elental Farm and upgraded it to S-Rank directly, then looked through the Status Panel for anything that he could upgrade with his 23 remaining Ascended Points.
Durable Cloth? Sure, why not? Let's boost our defenses as much as possible! William asked the System to upgrade the Ascended Durable Cloth Talent from F to D-Rank for 6 Ascended Points, quadrupling the Talent's previous effects.
William didn't care that he had just upgraded the Forcefield Talent. He didn't care that he was already like a brick wall to Ascension Realm Cultivators. William wanted Deity Realm experts to cry when they saw him!
