William and the Guild Master exited the portal simultaneously. In front was a large ring-like mountain chain that stretched almost to the end of William's view.
The mountain chain was dotted with five peaks that stretched into the clouds. At the very top, one could barely make out different colors of blue, red, yellow, green, and purple. "Those are the Five Peaks," the Guild Master spoke while looking to the sky. "They represent the five main elental focuses of our Sect, being Water, Fire, Earth, Wind, and Lightning. I live on the Fire Peak, even though I specialize in Magic of the Space and Ti Elents. Your Peak will be decided once you beco an Inner Core Disciple."
William nodded. He thought for a mont before asking, "How do I beco an Inner Core Disciple?" "There will be a test held in two weeks ti. It would be best to train your combat ability before then." The words felt weird coming out of the Guild Master's mouth, considering William could already defeat Golden Core Cultivators. Who knew how strong William would be once he started Cultivating?
"Yes, Guild Master." William replied.
"My na is Gu Dianlong, and I am the Sect Master here. You will refer to as Sect Master Gu while you are a mber of my Sect." he waited for William's confirmation before continuing. "I don't have ti to spend with the kids in your generation, so an Elder will be giving you a tour of our facilities and show you to your room."
Sect Master Gu led William to the Sect entrance, which was a set of large wooden doors inscribed with powerful Arrays. They approached a small registration building for visitors, where two middle-aged n welcod the Sect Master with respect.
"Welco back, Sect Master." they spoke in unison with a deep bow to which Sect Master Gu nodded.
"I need soone to admit this new disciple and provide him a tour of the Sect." he gestured in William's direction.
The man on the left spoke first. "I am Elder Ren and he is Elder Lin. Since you seem to match my handso looks and charm, I'll be giving you the tour of our Sect."
The n looked at William with confusion. Why is the Sect Master giving this person special privilege? Could he be a once in a million years genius? Their eyes sparkled as they realized getting close to such an individual could reap great benefits later.
"I'll go!" they said in unison.
Sect Master Gu shook his head. "Only one will suffice. The gates must still be watched. Sort it out amongst yourselves, I'll be off now." The group watched as Sect Master Gu created another portal to an unknown destination and stepped inside. Once the portal closed, the two n returned their attention to William.
The man on the left spoke first. "I am Elder Ren and he is Elder Lin. Since you seem to match my handso looks and charm, I'll be giving you the tour of our Sect."
Elder Lin looked at Elder Ren with annoyance, "What do you an, handso looks? You're uglier than old man Mori's pinky toe!" Elder Lin turned to William with a smile, "Young lad, forgive him. I'm sure a more respectable Elder would be suitable for your tour of the Sect."
William found the two Elders' interactions hilarious. Their bickering went back and forth until they seed to reach an agreent. Elder Lin perford so hand movents until the wooden doors opened, revealing a long path that wound through the mountains. "Alright lad, follow ." said Elder Lin as he walked through the doorway. William followed eagerly, his eyes gleaming with amazent at the various structures placed throughout the Sect. He could see many stone statues similar to those that guard Blue Moon City, and dozens of restaurants dotted between many residential areas. "As you can see, the entrance of the Sect also serves as a living space for our new disciples. We receive hundreds of disciples every year from across the continent, so the appropriate amount of restaurants is required." Elder Lin explained. Elder Lin pointed to the largest residence in the area. "You will be staying here since you are a new disciple. The Sect Master has specifically picked out the nicest residence for Outer Core Disciples and given it to you, so make sure you thank him properly when you next et."
William looked closely at the building pointed out. The layout was very traditional, however he could faintly make out a set of Interdiate Arrays on each wall. Although William could create much stronger Arrays, the amount of work required to completely cover a building would be imnse. If William were to do it by himself, it would probably take days if not weeks.
He bowed slightly to Elder Lin, feeling it was the right thing to do. "Thank you Elder. I will be sure to thank Sect Master as well." Elder Lin nodded in approval. 'If only the rest of the younger generation was as polite as this kid.'
If Elder Lin really knew what kind of person William was, he would definitely regret ever uttering those words. Elder Lin continued the tour after providing William his room key. He showed William to the training area, where many disciples were already launching various spells and techniques at scarecrow-shaped training dummies made of a purple fabric. A male disciple of about sixteen launched a water bolt at a dummy with a splash, causing the scarecrow to change from purple to a dark blue.
William watched as the disciple looked at his result and frowned with disappointnt. The disciple turned to the side, where he saw William and Elder Lin standing at the side. He wasn't sure who William was, since he wasn't wearing a uniform, but when he realized Elder Lin was watching him, the boy felt he needed to correct this embarrassnt. He quickly created a fireball about half a ter in size and threw it at the dummy. The fireball moved at about a quarter of William's best speed, landing squarely on the center of the scarecrow's head.
A large explosion should have sounded, but the area seed to be soundproofed, as William only saw the dummy burst into flas. He was amazed once again at the various ways you could apply Arrays, and was thankful he received the Talent so early on.
The fire died down, but the scarecrow was still there. It was now dyed a light green color that slowly faded to dark green, light blue, dark blue, then back to purple. The boy smiled in satisfaction, then locked eyes with William and gave a smirk.
"Those training dummies are designed to encompass the simplified colors of the rainbow," Elder Lin started explaining. "The dummies will change color from dark purple to blue, green, yellow, orange, and red and all shades in between depending on how much power your attack has when it hits the target.
Since that boy's target turned light green, it ans his attack was equal to soone in the late stages of the Foundation Establishnt Realm."
So that kid who looks much younger than is actually quite impressive. He has two Elents and his Fire Magic is stronger than Briar's. Too bad he picked the wrong opponent! William thought to himself.
"I think I'll give it a try if you don't mind, Elder." William suddenly spoke up to Elder Lin's surprise.
