William’s body had been thoroughly controlled by the Order Elent, suppressed by its abilities despite only being E-Rank.

Most of the fault could be placed on William himself, since his Soul Strength was just too weak compared to his other abilities. A Golden Core Cultivator’s E-Rank Magic would have the combat power of the early to middle stages of the Golden Core Realm, while William’s own Soul Strength was only sowhere between the Golden Core and Nascent Soul Realm.

There was only a small bridge to gap for the Order Elent, but it was a Mythic-Ranked Elent, so how could it be as weak as one of the Basic Elents? It wasn’t!

William could tell firsthand that the E-Rank Order Elent was very slightly stronger than his own Soul Strength, but it was enough for the Chaos upgrade to gain the upper hand. He used all of his will to resist the Order Elent’s possession, slowing down every movent to a crawl.

The possessed William reached inside his own chest and started pulling out William’s soul by force, while the Order Elent spoke to the Chaos Elent as if this was just a simple matter.

"Ⳝᰄ ᔕ꩜𖼜Ր𖼜ⳜᔕЯᄂ ʄშ꩜ ΛѠꝒꝒЯᄂ." it said, but William couldn’t read his own lips. He wished the System were here, so it could tell him what was going on.

The Chaos Elent snorted and put a hand in front of its mouth while it spoke, preventing William from understanding its words, "ᄂშƝT ПЯ Ѡ𖼜𖼜შЦѠƝT, ᔕ𐋐Я ᔕЯѠꝒЯᄂ ʄშ꩜ Tშშ."

The Order-possessed William continued to extract William’s soul, but it could tell that it was running out of Mana already. It stopped expending its energy, choosing to look around the area while speaking to the Chaos Elent. "ʄშ꩜’𖼜Я ɮЯѠⱤЯ𖼜 T𐋐ѠƝ Ⳝ 𖼜ЯᰄЯᰄПЯ𖼜."

Chaos nodded, "ᰄʄ 𖼜ЯѠꝒᰄ Ⳝᔕ ᄂѠᰄѠЦЯᄂ."

Both the Order and Chaos Elents realized their ti was running short, both nearly out of energy. William had survived again, but it wasn’t a complete loss. With ti, their little exchange of information would hopefully lead to freedom.

The System returned at the sa ti as the two Elents receded into William’s body, ending the possession and returning him to his original form.

Before he even had a chance to view the effects of his X-Rank Chaos Affinity, a System upgrade began, so William had to scroll back to the top and read the ssages backwards.

System, what the hell is this?! William complained.

-It’s exactly as the information says.

The information doesn’t say anything! Other than increasing my control of the Chaos Elent and expanding the range of the Domain and Territory, I can’t understand anything else?

-The X-Rank Chaos Elent wasn’t ant to be unlocked this early. Most of your questions will be answered when you Ascend. Or maybe you’ll have even more questions, who knows when it cos to you.

What’s that supposed to an?

-You’re very stupid sotis.

...

William gave up on the tsundere—

-Hm?

William gave up on the insuffera—

-Author-San, I’d kindly have to ask you to stop shaming in front of the readers.

Sorry, System.

-Hmph!

Ahem. William looked through the System’s upgrade next.

SYSTEM RANK: (B- --> B)

-425,654 Extra Potential Points added to progression towards the next System Rankup.

Next rank up: 4,574,346PP

*New Changes:

-System has reached version 2.4 and has improved the System Panel.

-Host’s concealnt from the Heavens have improved slightly.

-Host’s Birth Age and Real Age will appear as two different sections for convenience.

-One Additional Farm Slot.

———

The upgrades were hardly ntionable, but the best thing was that William gained yet another Farm Slot, which ant he could buy another Elent Farm as soon as possible.

He held off on purchasing it now, though, opting to wait until the Order Fruits had grown to test their effects. If they were good, he would be able to harvest all the fruits on the sa cycle in the future. If they were bad, he might just buy more Potential Farms.

I haven’t tested out the Territory of Chaos yet, who should I try it on? William wondered.

He looked at the map he had drawn out for the last three months, searching for a suitable target. Unfortunately, all the best ones were the Superior Veins, but he wasn’t ready to start that fight yet.

What about the other Continents? System, are there any powerful enemies elsewhere in the World?

-Request requires 2 Potential Points. Yes/No?

Only two? Definitely.

-Each Continent has a Supre Left-level threat, though they aren’t as united as he is with Unbreakable Right. Additionally, the Master of Retribution is still alive sowhere. This era doesn’t have many one-in-a-million-years geniuses, and most of which have already Ascended long ago.

William nodded. It made sense, but he wasn’t expecting there to be so few challenging enemies.

I guess that ans the Superior Veins and the Heavens really are my only opponents.

-And yourself. You are your biggest enemy. Might I remind you what just happened a few minutes ago?

You’re right, System. I can’t write off the Chaos and Order Elents as harmless after almost losing my soul. I still don’t even understand what the Order Elent does, nor why it’s a Mythic Elent when its counterpart is Legendary.

The System didn’t respond, so William looked at his System Panel.

POTENTIAL POINTS: 1,267,462

I have enough for the Recovery Talent to Ascend, but I still need to upgrade my Seal Elent...

William couldn’t move without sealing himself, so the decision was obvious. Thankfully the Seal Elent was only Epic-Rarity and wasn’t nearly as expensive as the Chaos upgrades. He upgraded it one Rank at a ti, surprised to find that the upgrade to X-Rank was only a hundred thousand Potential Points.
