William didn't know what to think. The Quest rewards were incredibly tempting, but the consequences of failure were just as high, if not higher.
He knew more than anyone else that he could just sit and wait for the Potential Points to rack up over ti, especially with the Beast Tides that already existed, but then he would find himself missing so many details about the World.
While he wasn't always very enthusiastic about returning to his old World, William didn't want to forgo it, either. Reius was his childhood, and it was where his sister and adopted family lived. He hoped that one day he would learn how to return at will, so he could tie up so loose ends.
I wish I could see my sister again too, I wonder if ti flows the sa from here to there. What if I go back and over a hundred years already passed?
William didn't want to waste ti worrying about the state of Reius. Instead, he carefully considered what the System Quest entailed.
I have a ten-year ti limit but thousands of Veins to absorb, which ans I will need to be as fast as possible the mont I absorb the first Vein. Not only that, but the Beast Tides will need to be dealt with, and who's to say I can even find them all in so much ti?
Rather than the first Impossible Quest that William still hadn't finished, this one seed truly impossible! For the forr, he only needed to figure out where two more Disc Fragnts were, having already sensed one in the Hillvire Empire, but the latter Quest would need much more than that.
He needed to be fast, powerful, and to be in many places at the sa ti. The only consolation was that the level of Beast Tides for the Impossible Quest wouldn't be nearly as difficult to deal with.
Considering the current level of Cultivators, they would probably be able to manage on their own against the weaker Beast Tides.
That still didn't help William when it ca to the ti limit. He would need to locate and absorb around 2 Lesser Veins a day, and one Standard Vein every five days. If the Lesser Veins ca in groups of three to five, that wouldn't be a huge issue, but Standard Veins were much rarer.
It would be a miracle if William managed to take less than ten years to locate all the Veins, especially considering how many were concealed underground. He'd have to inspect every nook and cranny of the World, dealing with the Heavens and other Cultivators at each turn.
And if I fail... instant death. This was the first ti William's penalty was so severe. It was obvious that he shouldn't take this Quest lightly.
My advantage is that the Quests won't start imdiately. I still have ti to think about what I need to do. William thought as he looked over to the Magical Beasts and Gu Dianlong.
Their progress was very slow, even with their combined Cultivation, but Gu Dianlong could already sense the Array weakening. At this rate, he should be free in less than a week, which was insane compared to the hundreds of loops that he and William had to go through.
Seeing that his Companion Beasts had managed to control the situation, William spent the week working on a few side projects. He thought about creating more Artifacts, but William was almost completely out of Startal and wanted to locate more before using the last bit.
While it had been rated as Mythic already, the Startal Safe still hadn't been fully evaluated by the System yet even after the end of the week, so he couldn't see it's stats. The System notified him that it would take a long ti because of the massive interior, and not because of the materials used or his process.
I guess I'll work on so Alchemy then. William thought as he scanned the general area for dicinal herbs and the like.
He was in the Providence Zone, after all. There were bound to be many rare Alchemy ingredients that others didn't dare to try and steal from under the noses of the four overlord Beasts. Now that they were his, though, William had no reason to worry. He could even ask them directly.
Following the directions of the Juvenile Vermillion Pheonix during one of its breaks, William spent two days gathering dozens of Tier 7 through 9 ingredients, while he only managed to secure one Tier 10 plant, a Sun Bomb Flower.
After spending 12500 Potential Points to raise his Alchemy Talent to SSR-Rank, William had the ability to perfectly refine any Alchemy Ingredient up to Tier 10, as long as it didn't include the most difficult recipes available.
In combination with the lower Tier ingredients he already had in stock, William was able to refine six Tier 9 Pills each of the Earth Boosting, Life Boosting, Reinforcent, and Heavenly Resistance Pills, which would severely reduce the difficulty of the future Superior Tribulations.
Unfortunately, he couldn't perfectly refine them still because it would incite a Pill Tribulation, but the effects were still much better than anyone else could do in this World. His Alchemist Title also didn't progress since perfectly refined Pills were required.
I can take care of that right now, though. William realized.
He was already going to make an enemy of the Heavens soon, so gaining a few more points of Attention would only slightly hinder the future, but the increased quality of Pills and reduced refinent difficulty would help him in the long run. It was clear which choice to make.
He spent two more days perfectly refining unique lower Tier Pills, starting at Tier 1. After the first Tier of Pills were completely refined, William moved on to Tier 2, then Tier 3, taking on each Tribulation one by one until he reached the Celestial Rank of his Alchemist Title.

-Alchemist (Epic --> Celestial): You have perfectly refined one hundred unique pills, making a na for yourself across the World. Pills of all Ranks will be 50% easier to refine.
As a consequence, however, William had to undergo an additional eighty-nine Heavenly Tribulations before achieving the desired result, but the Trial Taker Title was also upgraded.
Each Heavenly Tribulation was a Superior Tribulation, but since the Pills he refined were all of low level, the highest difficulty was from a Tier 3 Pill, which triggered a Superior Tribulation that peaked at the beginning of the Soul Formation Realm.
He didn't see Golden Girl this ti, but the aura of the Heavenly Tribulation was the sa, so he guessed that she was still there, watching from sowhere. He tried to call out to her, but there was no answer, so he continued with the Tribulations one by one.

-Trial Taker (Epic --> Mythic): You have transcended at least 100 Heavenly Tribulations. With great risk cos great reward. 25% resistance to Heavenly Lightning, 10 Attention. Experience exclusive tales on mvl
To reach the Celestial Rank for the Trial Taker Title, William would need to undergo a total of 250 Heavenly Tribulations, which he was quite far away from. His Attention had reached a value of 23, but there were no additional ssages to suggest a change in the Heavens' attitude towards him.
