On the following day, Geo returned to Rain's base, and this ti with so more unsettling news. He inford Rain and his wives that a group of monsters had suddenly appeared in the beast people lands, and to everyone's astonishnt, the creatures had ended up killing themselves.
"I guess their so-called allies betrayed them already," Terra said, and then she realized sothing. "No, wait…"
"What did the beast people do this ti?" Seara asked.
"... Nothing," Geo said after gulping. "It seed that they had been waiting for it."
The beast people's apparent desire for dungeons in their territory raised concerns among Rain and his group. They recognized that dungeons could serve a dual purpose for the beast people – they could be used to enhance their own strength through fighting, or potentially, they could harness the monsters within to launch attacks on the human territory.
This realization left Rain with a troubling thought.
Rain couldn't help but worry that the recent tremors he had sensed in the west could be linked to the possible arrival of dungeons in the magic people's territory. He feared that they might have either appeared or, even worse, already been broken. The situation was growing increasingly complex, and Rain's concerns for the safety and security of the situation were deepening.
"Send the word for reinforcents on that side of the country. Alert everyone there for the arrival of a massive army of monsters," Rain suddenly said. "Focusing on improving our strength was the right choice… but I guess we needed so spies as well."
"Yes, sir," Geo said.
"I am going to check the beast people and see what they are up to, and you two should stay here to receive more news in case sothing else happens," Rain added.
"It is finally starting again, huh?" Terra said while squinting her eyes. "Isn't it a bit sooner than we expected?"
"Yes… it would make more sense if they attacked when the dungeons in our territories have broken… but just like Rain said, perhaps they are watching us and they don't want us to make much progress," Seara nodded.
As Rain's wives engaged in that talk, Rain swiftly made his move, dashing towards the mountains with a sense of urgency. He chose to rely solely on Limit Breaker, aware that using excessive mana might reveal his presence to any potential enemies tracking him. However, he couldn't dismiss the possibility that with his vast mana pool, the enemy might still be able to detect his presence.
Nonetheless, he pressed on with focus, compelled by the urgency of the situation.
Rain quickly reached the first village within the beast people's territory. He noticed that the villagers had constructed sturdy walls around most of their settlents, crafted from robust, hard stone. Although these walls wouldn't serve as an effective defense against magic users, they provided a significant defense for regular warriors, making it a formidable blockade.
The villagers seed to be acting like usual, but their numbers appeared smaller than Rain had expected. Nevertheless, as he continued his journey through the area, he encountered a significant number of them traveling in the direction of the dungeons. What struck him as worriso was that they didn't seem to be in a hurry, their pace suggesting a casual journey rather than an urgent mission. Enjoy more content from empire
Before long, Rain confird the sa thing everywhere… maybe he should just kill them before they beco a problem, but that would only cause the younger generations to hate him further.
"You guys are so lucky… I will let you guys beco stronger in order to give experience," Rain said before the turned around. "I am a busy person, so I will let them co at to save ti. I will have so tricks up my sleeve ready for them."
Fighting the beast people wasn't that worriso for Rain. They were easy to read, after all. He was only a bit worried because their leaders had vanished, and they were still acting like usual…
Nothing had changed when Rain returned ho, but he decided to check things on the other side while Geo worked on delivering the ssage of the troops. He already knew the locations of the dungeons on the beast people's territory, but he had to confirm the sa thing on the magic people's territory.
Rain arrived in their territory when it was night, but he imdiately stopped before he could get closer to their cities… he did that because he was using Magic Eyes and he could feel a large spell covering most of their area… the spell apparently wasn't doing anything harmful, so its goal should be to track invaders.
"Hmm, they are becoming more clever… or soone is feeding them with useful techniques," Rain rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
Rain wondered what he should do… avoid that and return or keep going without a care? He barely had crossed the border, so he didn't find any signs of monsters. Staying in the dark further would be too much of a pain in the ass, so he dashed in while using his Limit Breaker only.
As soon as Rain crossed the barrier, he imdiately began to feel like he was being watched… moreover, he also could feel the bloodlust of those watching him. In the end, to annoy them, Rain stopped and waved his hands around, trying to look for a magic cara or sothing. At that mont, their rage only got worse.
It seed that the Taunt worked more than a little bit… before long, Rain could hear sothing approaching coming from the Southeast. Rain suddenly ca to a stop, and his keen sight caught an imminent threat approaching. He scanned the area and spotted a group of Draco warriors flying toward him.
What alard him the most was their sheer number – there were fifty of them in total, a force that greatly exceeded his expectations.
"Did they find a way to increase their numbers even though the dragons disappeared?" Rain thought.
