In the following days, Rain found himself imrsed in various tasks while overseeing the preparations for their journey into the uncharted worlds. With Sakaki's help , Rain crafted nurous lenses that he strategically arranged to create a magic telescope.
This new device allowed him to analyze the trajectories and directions of their intended destinations, optimizing their route and ensuring they wouldn't miss anything significant.
The construction of the magic telescope was a long and group effort, with many hands contributing to its assembly. Rain observed the intricate process, impressed by the efficiency and teamwork displayed by those involved. The lenses, each carefully imbued with magical properties, seamlessly connected to form a powerful tool that could be expanded endlessly.
The more lenses Rain made, the better it would beco.
Simultaneously, the news about their discoveries and the impending journey spread throughout their base and down to Earth. People learned about the dragon god's ambitions, the existence of the overseer, and the need for exploration into the uncharted planets. The information sparked a mix of emotions, ranging from curiosity to concern, among the inhabitants.
As so individuals chose to leave, there was a surprising influx of new arrivals eager to join Rain and his companions on their quest. The allure of exploring the unknown and the promise of growth and discovery attracted adventurers, scholars, and individuals from various backgrounds. The vessel beca a hub of activity, with people bustling about, preparing for the upcoming expedition.
"It looks like we won't face any problems…" Esralda said while reading a list with all inhabitants of the vessel. "We have to assign jobs to everyone, and I guess we need to teach new skills to people if so fields are low in manpower."
"Can't you split the work with Regis and Sealyn?" Rain asked.
"Sealyn is a fighter, administrative stuff isn't her forte," Esralda said. "Seara helps her with that. While Regis can help this as well, both of them agreed that could do a better job if I were to do this alone. In exchange, they won't mind if I give orders and allocate their people to the places I deem necessary.
The important thing is to make sure that everyone will contribute here as much as possible."
"That will be hard," Rain said. "How many people are here already?"
"35.856… half of them can fight, so they will focus on fighting and improving their skills," Esralda said and then let out a long sigh. "The high positions are easy to fill, but the others below are difficult. We also need a system where we can promote and reward people for their hardwork."
"Well, good luck with that…" Rain said. "I just rembered that I have piano lessons now."
"You can run away now, but you will eventually give a hand with this," Esralda said after she crossed her arms. "We will have to make sothings physically instead of magic to save fuel and we will have to delegate a lot of work, only you can help with that since you are the only one who knows how things work here completely."
"I suppose it is better to get this over with, then…" Rain said and sighed.
"Did you already finish your job?" Esralda asked. "A single mistake and all of us will be dood, right?"
"I had the help of so brainiacs, so I finished everything in a few days," Rain explained. "I can continue working, but I already have the next month worth of trips planned. Further calculations will require a lot of ti and we will have to consider our locations as well."
"... We will have to log our travels… I wonder how we are going to write down our locations…" Esralda frowned. "Day 45, close to planet A… is that it?"
"Sothing like that," Rain laughed. "We can't exactly determine our location in any other way on the void of space."
"Calling Day 45 or sothing would be boring," Sakaki said. "Let's call it… I don't know how to call it…"
"We won't have proper circles of day and light for a while," Rain said while rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "I suppose we will have to… ah, fuck it. It is too annoying to think of this."
"How about Cycle?" Esralda asked. "Every period of twenty four hours will be a cycle. We will have to create a watch that will tell the ti and the cycles as well to make everyone aware of the passage of ti. I will ask Liss to do that, she recently started to enjoy a bit too much how to use the Magic Scribe path, let's make good use of her enthusiasm."
"Fine by ," Rain said.
During the three-week waiting period, the vessel continued to expand, both in size and population. The planning undertaken by Rain and the efforts of everyone involved paid off. The vessel grew by around twenty percent, accommodating the increasing number of people who joined their expedition.
Sealyn's estimate turned out to be conservative, and yet, the extra ti proved valuable for solidifying their community and ensuring commitnt from the newcors.
Fuel capacity, a critical factor for their journey, saw a more significant increase, providing a reassuring margin for unforeseen circumstances. Rain, Sakaki, and others worked diligently to optimize and enhance the vessel's capabilities, making it a sustainable and comfortable ho for the growing population.
As word spread that joining the expedition ant a life without the burdens of land ownership and taxes, more individuals chose to be part of this unique task, without realizing the hardships of it. The absence of monetary concerns, given the military nature of the expedition, attracted people seeking new opportunities and a sense of purpose.
However, the potential challenges of managing resources and addressing future economic concerns lood in the back of their minds.
Finally, the day of departure arrived, marked by a mixture of excitent and anticipation. The vessel, now a bustling community, prepared to embark on its interstellar journey. Rain, and others gathered to see off the last-minute additions to their diverse group and soon made the vessel depart…
