"See that? This is the power of the canine... Awooo!"
Edward, with his gaping maw wide open, let out a howl similar to that of a Husky, and then he began his massacre.
Lately, Edward was truly frustrated. He considered himself the strongest in the team, but when it ca to contributing to the team, not to ntion veterans like Alien Eye Nikun, even the greenhorn Le Cheng had outdone him, which his pride just couldn’t accept.
Now, the ti had co for a head-to-head battle, and he started to truly unleash himself.
"Awooo!!"
Edward roared as he tore apart the enemies’ bodies with his claws and teeth.
The Werewolf’s massive body moved freely among the enemy ranks. Neither the converts nor the Bloodletting Demons were a match for Edward. Screams, mournful cries, sounds of struggle, and curses... these sounds not only stimulated the converts but also drove Edward wilder and more feral.
However, as more and more converts perished, with the stimulation of fresh blood and death, the number of Bloodletting Demons at the scene also increased, and even... more powerful beings began to appear.
anwhile, Alien Eye’s "Field Magic" had finally reached its limit. The mont Overnight Mountain and Hengduan Mountain vanished, innurable Bloodletting Demons and converts started charging up the slope.

On the slope, Gawain, watching the onrushing Bloodletting Demons and converts from below, spoke solemnly, and the eight accompanying knights responded vigorously. Despite the enemy outnumbering them, not a trace of fear was visible on their faces; paired in twos, they were ready for combat at any mont.
The entire slope was divided into three defense lines. The first defense line consisted of Gawain and the accompanying knights – as battle-hardened warriors, they would be the ones to withstand the enemy’s initial assault. The second defense line at the rear comprised Yaya, Jingxiang, and Nabron, who provided backup and cover for the knights at the front line. As for the third defense line, it was ford further back by Le Cheng, Caster, Guinevere, and the recently retreated Nikun.
Of course, to the veteran players, this third defense line was almost considered non-existent, much like the Maginot Line.
Firstly, Guinevere had no combat ability; she only stood there because she felt safer being with Caster. Although Caster possessed so combat strength, neither the knights nor the players would let him face danger lightly. As for Le Cheng... at least for now, no veteran player would expect such a newbie to make any significant contribution on the battlefield.
Even Le Cheng himself appeared to stick to his usual laissez-faire attitude, not joining the fight but instead holding a handful of peanuts, waterlon seeds, and a soft drink. As he ate and drank, he watched the battle below and occasionally comnted on the fighting.
"Has Ding Zhen lost his nerve? Can he do it or not, huh, Underdog?"
"Holy shit, Edward’s really fierce. Those two claws of his, what’s with them? One red, one blue, one cold, one hot. Could it be the legendary Frost’s Sorrow and Fire of Joy? Worthy of a Husky, badass."
"Eh, why are a bunch of enemies charging towards Gawain? Do they think he’s taunting them?"
"Hey, you guys don’t just stand there, get fighting, especially Yaya, where’s your motorbike? Should I play a nursery rhy for you?"
"Take a break, Gai." Looking at him, giving directions as if he owned the place, Nikun was speechless. Despite the intensity of the battle, hearing him say this made it difficult to feel motivated... it seed that this third defense line would have to rely on themselves.
Nikun glanced backwards subconsciously; there was a row of houses closest to the mountain wall. The civilians from the train had already been gathered there prior to the battle’s outset.
The primary purpose of the three defense lines that Gawain and Yaya devised was to protect those civilians.
For Gawain and the others, protecting civilians was a knight’s duty, while for the players, the civilians’ survival rate not only affected the dungeon’s clearance rating but also the enemy’s strength... once the civilians started dying en masse, the converts could Summon a more powerful Catastrophe Legion. Therefore, unless absolutely necessary, the civilians absolutely could not be abandoned.
This was also the reason Nikun returned here; after all, with him present, this defense line still had so hope of holding.
By this ti, the battle at the frontline had intensified to the extre.
Despite Edward’s incomparable combat strength and an invulnerable body that allowed him to move through enemy ranks as if they weren’t there, he ultimately could not hold off all the enemies. As a large number of Bloodletting Demons reached the slope, Gawain bore the brunt of the assault. However, even at night, dealing with a group of Bloodletting Demons wasn’t difficult given his strength.
The ones under the greatest pressure were those eight accompanying knights.
