The next day, according to Le Cheng’s plan, Caster announced that the Empire would officially enter the God Welcoming Period, and a statue of the deity would be erected in the square of the Imperial Capital for the people to worship. Moreover, everyone who ca to worship would receive a blessing card given by the Gaia Church, and if lucky, one might even receive a blessing from the Divine Envoy.
Actually, after the initial eting in the council hall was approved, many things had already started being rapidly prepared, such as Gaia’s grand statue, and the formation of the Church.
Currently, aside from the various Order divine halls that had been renad, there was only one large statue in the entire Imperial Capital, which was the twenty-ter statue of Emperor Sigma, the founder. It stood at the center of the Imperial Capital square, and since Sigma’s death, countless people have co daily to pay homage and rember him.
And as the protector god of the Empire, Gaia obviously could not be without a statue.
This task was assigned to the Catastrophe ssengers, as it would be too difficult for ordinary people to create a several-dozen-ter statue in a short ti. However, there was a small dispute during the production process about how tall Gaia God’s statue should actually be.
If it was less than twenty ters, it would be shorter than Emperor Sigma’s, which might be seen as disrespectful to a deity.
If it was more than twenty ters, the deity’s status would surpass Sigma’s. But for many people, Sigma was the savior of this world and should be suprely revered; Gaia, although a deity, had not yet contributed to this world, which might unsettle so people.
So, what about making Gaia’s statue twenty ters as well?
That wouldn’t work either because another issue arose: having the deity’s statue at the sa height as a human’s seed sowhat disrespectful to the deity.
In short, due to this matter, the Catastrophe ssengers expressed their own opinions and argued incessantly, eventually even bringing the issue to Morgan and Le Cheng. Le Cheng was sowhat bewildered upon hearing it – how could making a statue involve so many complications?
Although he personally thought it didn’t matter much, and surmised that neither Sigma nor Gaia would care about such issues, seeing each Catastrophe ssenger so serious and even heatedly quarrelso, he finally ca up with a solution.
Shortly thereafter, within just three days, the Catastrophe ssengers completed Gaia’s statue.
And on the first day of the God Welcoming Period, countless people ca to the Imperial Capital square and were dumbstruck upon seeing Gaia’s statue.
This imnse statue was made according to Le Cheng’s portrait of Gaia, not only perfectly replicating the action details and facial expression but also, miraculously, the Catastrophe ssengers made the Earth in Gaia’s hand into a dynamic model. People could clearly see the globe rotating back and forth in the palm of Gaia.
Moreover, the fun-loving Catastrophe ssengers specifically added colored pupils to the statue, causing its green eyes to glow with brilliant starlight. Upon closer inspection, it was as if the statue’s eyes contained the entire cosmos, which was both spectacular and mystical.
However, because of the Empire’s recent publicity, and because the nobles spared no cost in aggressively promoting it to redeem themselves, the majority of the people in the Imperial Capital were already very familiar with the image of Gaia. So, what truly surprised them was not these details but...
"Wait, why does Gaia God’s statue have no feet?"
People pointed at the gigantic statue and everyone imdiately noticed that the feet were not visible, one could only see the part above the knees.
A nearby Catastrophe ssenger said with a smile, "That’s a good question. Gaia God’s feet are not missing; they are beneath the ground."
"Why did you bury the statue’s feet underground?"
"Because Gaia is the God of the Earth, originating and rooted in the Earth. When their legs take root in the Earth, the deity’s power spreads across the whole world, protecting every kind soul on this land."
This Catastrophe ssenger, a mber of the Church, explained earnestly and seriously.
Due to limited ti, the mbership of the Gaia Church primarily consisted of Catastrophe ssengers and so governnt officials withdrawn from less active positions. Of course, so people were very optimistic about the Gaia Church and, upon learning that the Church was short-staffed, imdiately resigned from their well-paying jobs to join the Church, starting from the grassroots.
It is said that the end of the universe lies in organization, but in a world where a real deity exists, what organizational structure could be more promising than a divine hierarchy?
Take, for instance, this Catastrophe ssenger currently acting as the explainer by the statue; she was originally the deputy director of the Imperial Capital’s library. Although it wasn’t a position of great power, it was at least a top-level role, yet she resigned without hesitation, and her current identity is that of a bishop in the Imperial Capital Gaia Church.
With the Church currently critically understaffed, even bishops had to co forward and make public appearances.
However, once Gaia truly descends upon this world, when the Gaia Church spreads worldwide, her role as a bishop will certainly be a commanding authority within the Church, with only the Pope and two Vice Popes ranking above her.
