"Where is your sister...?"
Zarek repeated her question with an indifferent look in his eyes.
Now there were only four of them left. White Death’s eyes hidden beneath the mask couldn’t help but narrow in anticipation as she waited for Zarek’s answer.
No one other than her knew just how much she had desperately searched for her sister, and why wouldn’t she? After all, her sister was the only relative she had left—everyone else had long left her behind.
As such, no matter what, White Death was willing to go to any length to find her.
Alexander on the other hand looked completely lost. He had already realized life as an awakener was not all sunshine and rainbows. At first he had even wanted to give up everything and start living an ordinary life, but sothing inside told him if he did that, he would have nothing left behind except regrets.
anwhile, high goblin princess stood behind Zarek like a loyal little wife. Even though Zarek didn’t even talk to her, Zerin felt it was only a matter of ti when he would co to accept her sooner or later.
Unconsciously, the eyes of three were on Zarek for one reason or another. He could feel their gaze as they waited for the answer. However, no matter what they thought, his words were going to disappoint them as he had no idea about her sister’s whereabouts.
"Although I know this might not be what you wanted to hear, but if I am being honest, I have no idea where your sister is..."
Maybe they had been part of the sa situation before, but Zarek had developed a little bit of goodwill for her. As such he decided to answer honestly. If he wanted, he could have directly lied to avoid the trouble. After all, how would she even know if he was being honest or not?
anwhile, White Death who heard Zarek’s blunt response rely blinked her eyes in response, then in the next mont her face turned cold as she finally processed what Zarek had said.
"What do you an you have no idea where my sister is? Last ti she was seen with you in the Frostmount City..."
Hearing her cold words, Zarek rely shrugged his shoulders. What he had said was the complete truth. If she wanted to believe it or not, that was her problem, not his.
Alexander’s expression slightly stiffened. He could feel the surrounding temperature drop drastically. Unconsciously a shiver ran down his spine. He swallowed hard and took two steps back.
This is not good...! Alexander had no idea how to react to the changing situation.
anwhile, White Death’s expression turned bone-chillingly cold. Countless negative thoughts had started popping in her mind. These thoughts were expected considering Zarek’s reputation.
"Did you do sothing to her...?"
At this point, her voice was so cold that everyone could feel their blood seemingly co to a standstill. After all, the restriction placed on her strength had completely vanished. But in the next mont, Zarek simply shook his head.
"Believe what you want. Not only do I have no idea where your sister is, I don’t even rember eting her at all."
With those words, White Death completely lost it. She coldly cursed and appeared in front of Zarek like an ice phantom, a sharp crystalline dagger in her hand.
"Answer honestly or don’t even think about leaving this place alive!"
Of course, with the absolute combat mode, he had already predicted her next move. Although Zarek was unable to keep up with her speed, witnessing the coldness in her eyes, Zarek let out a sigh.
It would be just a waste of ti.
No matter what he said, she would only believe her own narrative.
As such he simply decided to not say anything and simply started walking away.
"I would say for one last ti, I have no idea where your sister is, and if you continue asking the sa question, don’t bla for being ruthless."
While speaking he didn’t even turn his head, rely walking away with each step.
White Death also remained frozen in place, her hand tightly clenched on the crystal dagger. She was applying so much force that it looked like the grip would burst into icy fragnts at any ti.
Zerin also coldly snorted before following behind Zarek: "Woman, know your limits, or else I would end your life myself."
As she spoke these words, the aura exuded by Zerin was no less than White Death’s. She might not look like it, but Zerin was second only to the high goblin king, a representative of an entire race.
Although White Death might be strong, compared to high goblins she was nothing.
anwhile, the distance between Zarek and White Death continued to increase. Just as Zarek was about to completely disappear, he stopped for a mont and left behind only a single sentence:
"Not only do I not know anything about your sister, but I don’t even know anything about myself. I have forgotten everything after entering the dungeon..."
Zarek chose to leave behind those words. It was not a decision that he took on a whim but after careful consideration.
After leaving, he had two choices: first was to completely abandon the identity of the young master of the Silversword family.
And second, continue to hold onto the identity.
Choosing the second option should have been quite easy, but he simply had no mories of the previous Zarek except the bits and pieces of information that he rembered from the novel.
With his condition now, if he tried to act like the previous Zarek, it would have been quite stupid. But he also didn’t want to abandon such a thick thigh to cling on to. Although he had gotten sowhat stronger, he could never forget just how dangerous this world was. He needed ti before he could fully grow up. Until then, he needed the protection of a family like the Silversword.
And this was the perfect mont to reveal that after awakening he had forgotten everything. Such a thing, although highly unlikely, could happen.
Zarek didn’t know how White Death would react to this information, but he was sure of one thing—his life would definitely get easier without a doubt.
White Death finally—Zarek’s words continued to reverberate in her mind. He had forgotten everything... but how?
She didn’t doubt his words, not because White Death trusted Zarek or sothing like that. Sothing told her Zarek was not lying.
There was sothing in his tone that convinced White Death—Zarek wasn’t lying.
She fell deep into thought. anwhile, Alexander silently watched everything from the sidelines. He also wanted to say sothing to uplift her, but he had a feeling if he dared to speak right now, he would regret it for the rest of his life.
As such he decided to stay silent.
anwhile, the figures of Zarek and Zerin completely disappeared from their views.
Silence once again returned to the ruins. White Death also shook her head and started to move. No matter what, she was going to find her sister. If Zarek was no help, then she needed to examine the clues once again. Maybe this ti she would find sothing useful.
With these thoughts in mind, she changed her direction, moving to the Frost Iron City.
From the start to finish, she didn’t spare Alexander another glance, as if he didn’t exist at all.
Alexander just stared blankly in the direction White Death left with a blank gaze. Not even a single word before parting—Alexander’s face burned in humiliation.
Monts continued to pass, but in Alexander’s mind, the scene of White Death’s cold eyes continued to repeat again and again.
At so point, he couldn’t stop himself from clenching his fists tightly until his nails dug into his flesh. The humiliation he felt slowly turned into anger, not directed to anyone else but to himself.
Is this what I amount to? No one had bothered to speak a single word to .
Not Brian, neither Zarek, not even White Death.
Without him realizing, the purple energy that surrounded him was going wild, wildly fluctuating. If soone could detect this strange purple energy, they could easily detect Alexander at this ti.
Maybe Alexander had just awakened, but his control over his purple aura was almost nonexistent. Hell, forget about controlling—the fatty didn’t even seem to be aware about the energy’s existence.
Just then a figure dressed in black tuxedo appeared. Maybe if Alexander had eyes on the back of his head, he might have been able to detect this newcor, but sadly Alexander didn’t. The poor fatty was still lost in his own thoughts.
The newcor was a dignified-looking middle-aged man with a prim and proper appearance. His tightly fitted tuxedo looked neat and clean. Coupled with the jet black cane in his hand, the man looked like an elder of so super family.
At this ti there was a frown on the man’s face. His narrow eyes scanned the forr entrance of the Sacrificial Dungeon of Divine Battle.
"So this little place caused so much trouble..." The man’s voice sounded a little unsure. The distance between him and Alexander was barely a ter, yet still Alexander was unable to hear the man’s words.
