"So what do you think? Good enough?"
Arthur scanned through the thousand or so elixirs in disbelief.
’I did tell her to do it, but I never thought she’d actually complete it.’
Arthur honestly didn’t know the reason, but he had an odd urge to make Elizabeth do even more work. But first, he had to be grateful.
"Thank you," he said, strapping his pale icy-blue blade to his waist.
Elizabeth sighed, her exhaustion evident. "So where are you going now?"
Arthur dropped the elixir he’d just finished drinking and glanced at her. "Amy and Sylvia will go rally our group while I go et with the strange woman."
Elizabeth didn’t speak, as if unsure of what to say.
So inspirational words?
Tell him not to die?
Beg him to bring her friend back?
『 Elizabeth’s affection for you has reached: 80% 』
Arthur stared at the status window, then back at Elizabeth, confused. "Lisa... are you perhaps a masochist?"
Elizabeth’s expression twisted. "What did you just say, you damn bastard?"
Arthur chuckled lightly. "Sorry, it just seems like you got fonder of after I made you do tiring work."
Elizabeth lowered her gaze, glanced at him, then looked away. "Whatever."
Arthur ruffled her hair gently.
"What are you—"
Seeing Arthur’s brightened expression, she couldn’t bring herself to say another word.
Arthur tilted his head slightly. "I have a bad habit of patting anything that’s cute."
Elizabeth’s cheeks flushed. "Who—who the hell is cute?"
But she didn’t pull away from his hand, and with a shaky voice she said, "Co back safely no matter what, okay?"
Arthur smiled. "Aren’t you ant to be more worried about your friend?"
Elizabeth lowered her gaze and smiled. "As long as you co back, she would too."
"Hmmm..." he teased. "When did this sudden confidence in bloom?"
Elizabeth pouted. "Whatever, just go already."
Arthur withdrew his hand and covered himself with a cloak. "Be safe, my eternal slave."
As he said that, he left the compartnt.
...
Elizabeth didn’t have any information on Nathira except what she had told him earlier.
But one thing Arthur knew was that Nathira wouldn’t hide sowhere he couldn’t find her in.
That ant she was either underground or on top of a mountain peak, and from the stories and rumors the girls of the Bed Warrs cult had gathered, he was able to pinpoint where she would be.
Arthur moved through the cold mountain range behind Falmouth City with ease.
His mana and force were replenished now, which made traveling so much simpler.
Alia and Sylvia were still in the city doing the final prep work for the takedown, while the Bed Warrs and Moonlight Dusk were gathering info on the organization that took Eira in.
It didn’t take more than thirty minutes for Arthur to reach the area of the mountain that had a cliff.
"She sure is obsessed with cliffs," he muttered, staring at the abyss below.
Exhaling a cold breath, he yelled out:
"Hey Nathira! Your boo is coming down! So if there are any traps, can you stop it?!"
No one answered.
However, Arthur didn’t stop.
"See! I’m sorry about not coming sooner, okay?! So please, can you not hurt or trap when I co in?!"
Nothing again.
"I love you, okay! But you and I both know how crazy you are! Now, shout sothing if I can co in!"
Still nothing.
Arthur collapsed on the ground a few ters away from the cliff.
’Like hell I’m entering there without a warning.’
The first ti he t Nathira in this world, she had trapped him in a room even though, unlike her, he had never seen her before in real life.
So what would happen if she had to wait a thousand years when they were already in a relationship?
Arthur shivered at the thought of it, and just to increase his chance of survival, he began singing every love song he knew from Korea.
Three hours passed in a blink, then five.
"Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, seven days a week, every hour—"
Arthur licked his lips. "Damn, my throat is all dry."
"Heehee."
Arthur’s eyes widened as he heard the sound of soft chuckling.
The air around him seed to freeze as soone appeared out of nowhere and cupped his cheeks.
The figure hovered slightly in the air, just enough to make her a bit taller than him.
She wore a long white tunic, and her blonde hair fluttered uncontrollably in the wind, her crimson eyes shimring with unhinged obsession.
Arthur knew the touch, the scent, and the face.
"Sorry?" he finally muttered.
The beautiful woman who had once led to the ruin of Falmouth City fell onto him and began kissing him.
Arthur fell flat on the snow as soone’s tongue slid into his mouth. He couldn’t pull back.
Even if he tried, she was far stronger than he was.
And honestly, he didn’t want to piss her off any further.
The woman finally pulled away and stared at him from atop his chest. "Bastard."
Arthur looked away, his face heating up. "Bitch."
Nathira chuckled and rested fully on his chest. "Do you know how much I missed you?"
Arthur nodded. "Enough to enslave a group of people."
Nathira smiled. "No, enough to wipe out an entire population for lying that they saw you."
Arthur stared at her hair, then she raised her head to et his eyes. "You didn’t, right?"
Nathira offered him an innocent smile.
"You really are a crazy person."
Nathira couldn’t even hear him properly and muttered, "I love you, Art."
Arthur didn’t flinch. "Don’t try to change the subject. You already knew where I lived."
Nathira looked away. "Did I now?"
Arthur tugged her cheek gently. "Yes, you did. I bet you were just angry soone else had my na."
Her eyes lit up. "How did you know?"
Arthur sighed, but the smile on his face didn’t fade. "Okay, my crazy wife, it’s ti to right your wrongs."
Nathira tilted her head. "Does this involve another woman?"
Arthur looked away. "Which woman?"
Nathira laughed at his embarrassed expression and ruffled his hair lightly. "You’re so cute. Do you want Mommy to give you a kiss?"
"Do what you want."
Before Nathira leaned in, she asked another question:
"What happened to your hair?"
Arthur touched his hair as if feeling the texture would tell him the color. "Oh, this?" He grinned. "I saw your sister and absorbed her."
Nathira’s smile grew more dangerous. "You t Echidna?"
Arthur nodded. "Yeah, I have her core—"
Before he could finish, Nathira bit into his neck.
Arthur didn’t say anything, as if he wasn’t feeling the pain, even though blood was visibly trickling from the cut.
Nathira’s gaze turned cold as she said, "I’m going to wash her scent off you."
"And how will you do that?" Arthur asked teasingly.
Nathira grinned as she kissed him. "You already know how."
