Counting down the ti, it has been approximately 48 hours since Cassius found himself locked away in the abyssal depths of Alcatraz, sentenced to eternity here for the sole cri of being born a human.

Even though he was not quite at the point of escaping the chains that bound him, he saw the light at the end of the tunnel.

So far, all he had been doing was continuously cutting himself, creating floating blood blades, and chipping away at a singular point on the chains.

"Although I’m still an extrely long way from breaking a chain, I’m definitely doing sothing," Cassius grinned, beads of sweat rolling down his chiseled face.

He stared at one of the chains coiled around his right arm, focusing on an almost invisible cut in the chain’s tallic exterior. This was the result of his more than 24 hours spent toiling away, all while gradually experiencing the fatigue acquired from massive blood loss and thirst.

"That pill those foolish Elders gave as a form of punishnt turned out to be the only thing keeping alive. How ironic is that?" Cassius bitterly smiled, his chapped lips sticking against one another.

Even with the lingering effects of that precious pill, unless he shattered all the chains soon, he’d undoubtedly perish here, giving the Moon God people the exact outco they wanted.

"Think, Cassius Steele, think: How can I speed up the cutting process??" The gears in his mind spun faster than they ever have since his ascension. While brainstorming, he glimpsed his staggering 2500 Spirit Points—suddenly, an absurd idea ford.

"Increasing my Spirit increases the size of my Asura Sea and the amount of Asura Energy stored inside it. This also ans the Asura Energy, by extension, is mine to use as I please. And up till now, I haven’t touched my Asura Sea; I’ve simply been using my Quality’s Innate Abilities to manipulate my own blood. But what if... what if I can sohow amplify the power of my drawn blood with my Asura Energy...?"

Idle grinned mischievously when Cassius reached this point in his hypothesis.

"I didn’t want to spoil the fun of discovering things on your own, so I didn’t tell you, but I thought of this so ti ago, Host," she said smugly. "Also, according to my highly advanced calculations, the chances of this experint being a success are approximately-..." Before she could finish speaking with a tone of condescension, Cassius suddenly erupted with a crimson light.

"Humph! You could’ve at least let reach the end of my speech!" Idle complained, annoyed that he went ahead and put the theory to the test.

"You talk too much," Cassius said from within the eruption of crimson light.

A couple seconds later, the light suddenly dispersed—and the first thing Idle saw was a massive scythe over five ters in height. It was clearly a blot of blood that had been enhanced by a huge amount of Asura Energy, becoming possibly dozens of tis more powerful.

"I’ll call this skill [Asura Scythe]," Cassius stated, effortlessly swinging the bloody scythe around with nothing but the power of his mind. "And it will be what frees from this accursed place."

SWISH!

The [Asura Scythe] slashed downward with overwhelming force, making a crisp slicing sound as it glided through the air. Its devilish crimson glow was the only source of light in the whole abyss, and like Cassius’s salvation, it clashed against the tal chains.

CLANG!

Sparks flew as the collision of two opposing forces created an echoing sound of tal scraping against tal.

The result of this powerful slash?

"A centiter deep cut," said Cassius, his surprise evident in his expression. "If I keep at it, won’t I break these things before long?"

Although a single centiter wasn’t much in the face of dozens of inches worth of chains, it was still leagues better than the near nonexistent marks he was leaving prior to this.

"The only problem with using the [Blood Scythe] Skill is the sheer quantity of Asura Energy used for each slash," Cassius said with signs of exhaustion marring his already fatigued expression. "Even with my Spirit at around 2500 and my Blood Sea having dinsions of 25 ters by 25 ters, I can only manage 5 of these full-powered attacks, and even that’s pushing it."

After using Asura Energy, it required ti to regenerate inside his Blood Sea as well.

In other words, he... still wouldn’t make it in ti.

The chains would not be shattered before he died from any number of harmful ailnts.

Of course, that was assuming his power remained stagnant...

"Leviathan, oh Leviathan, if only I could get a little bit closer to you," Cassius gave a sigh of longing, staring up at his power supplier. "I wonder how delicious the Spirit Orbs you dropped would be then."

But no matter, with the current rate his body was deteriorating, he still had a couple weeks before he’d start experiencing organ failure. In his opinion, that was plenty of ti to improve himself,

And so for the next four days, he alternated between collecting the Spirit Orb Rainfalls and cutting away at the chains with [Asura Scythe]--until eventually, a distinct sound of tal reaching its breaking point echoed.

CLANG!

SHATTERRR—!

With one final cast of [Blood Scythe], the chain around Cassius’s arm shattered!

The two broken parts of the chain produced a magical reaction like the soul of a puppet dissipating. After which, the molecular makeup of the broken chain experienced an internal overload, its structure cracking and shattering at every link of the chain.

Watching that chain be reduced to shards and sent spiraling into the depths of the abyss put a wide smile on Cassius’s haggard face. His joy increased even more when he felt his control over his right arm return, even in spite of the fact that he was too malnourished to properly lift it up and move it around.

"This is just the first of many to co," said Cassius, already in the process of casting another [Blood Scythe].

With his Spirit stat nearing 10,000, he also had a feeling that yet another amazing thing would occur soon enough.

All he needed was so ti—and presently, the commodity he had most of in the world was ti.
