— Weeks Later —

While passively farming Demon Beasts with the assistance of his Shadow Tree Soldiers, Necro noticed sothing unusual pop up on his improved radar.

"A human?" he wondered, watching the frantic movents of a woman with what he liked to call his |Nature Sight|, which made use of vibrations around his Roots to produce images. "Oh? There's more than one."

From the looks of it, the woman was being chased. The pursuers were multiple unsavory-looking n in the Bone Refinent Realm.

"Hmm…"

Necro debated helping her or not. And though it really wasn't any of his business, they were invading his territory right now. Furthermore, Evolution Points were Evolution Points, no matter if they ca from a Demon Beast or a human.

|Thousand Yard Slash|

With a casual flick of one of his Branches, an arc of highly condensed air cut through the skies. Lines of trees were cleaved in half as this arc encountered the group of n chasing the fleeing girl.

"Get off of , you bastards!!"

"Give it up, Lang Qingyue!" A man called Yang Fenglie finally caught up to the girl, imdiately using his superior strength to push her up against a tree. "Your Tribe has already been annihilated, you savage, so quit resisting and make use of this body of yours to please us~"

He, along with the rest of the robed n, eyed the pinned girl's voluptuous curves through her torn-up clothes. Lust built up inside them as they lasciviously licked their lips, more than ready to dig in.

"I'll kill myself before I let you do what you want with , you leches…!" Lang Qingyue placed a sharpened knife up to her throat, resolve shining through the despair festering in her heart. "See if I dare or not!"

Yang Fenglie and the rest froze.

Then they burst out laughing while holding their stomachs.

Lang Qingyue's expression worsened as she shouted, "What!? You don't think I'll do it!??"

"N… No, it's just that we don't care," Yang Fenglie replied through tears. "As long as your body is still warm, then it doesn't matter if you're alive or not!"

"!!!"

Dread fully settled within Lang Qingyue's heart. The knife she was holding slipped out of her hand as she slumped to the hard ground.

"Finally given up, have you??" Yang Fenglie laughed. "Good, this makes things easier! Ti to dig in, boys!"

However, just as they started to rip away what little remained of Lang Qingyue's clothes, a crisp whistling sound echoed out. And before any of the robed n could properly react in ti, an arc of condensed air sliced through the tree Lang Qingyue was sitting under.

If not for the fact that the n were now missing their upper halves, the crashing down of the tree surely would've killed them…

"Wh… What…?"

Light quickly returned to Lang Qingyue's dimd eyes as she looked around and saw every single one of her pursuers lying in a pool of their own blood. Half were crushed under the weight of the large tree after being cleaved in two, while one could clearly view the gory scenes left behind by the other half.

"H-How did this—"

"What's your na, girl?"

"???"

'A voice!? From where!?'

Lang Qingyue looked everywhere but up. However, when she finally did, her eyes widened rounder than a full moon. With words seemingly stuck in the back of her throat, she shivered, unable to move an inch from her spot.

"Your na," Necro repeated. "What is it?"

"M-My na…?"

"Yes," replied Necro. "Do you not have one?"

Gulping hard while facing the massive wooden python looming over her, Lang Qingyue shook her head. "I have one… It's… Lang Qingyue…"

"Alright, Lang Qingyue," Necro said, pointing his snout toward the damage he caused. "Why were these n chasing you? From the looks of it, your strength isn't much worse than theirs was."

Lang Qingyue's head drooped as she softly murmured, "I was injured by a sneak attack…"

She paused, then continued:

"After… After they massacred, pillaged, and violated the mbers of my Tribe, I was left as one of the only people still alive. They caught by surprise while I was running away."

Sha welled up in her heart over her cowardly act of fleeing, but she had no other option. Dying alongside her family and friends was the way she wanted to go out, but they entrusted a task with her—one that she couldn't refuse.

'I have to seek the Shamans in the North… Only that way can I avenge everyone…!'

"Tribe?" Necro asked. "Is that like a Sect? I'm unfamiliar with the term."

"You don't know about the Barbarian Tribes?"

Lang Qingyue appeared genuinely confused by this notion.

Who in the Forest of Jagga's territory hadn't heard of the Barbarian Tribes??

"I sleep most of the ti," Necro explained. "As such, my knowledge of this world is limited to what I hear whenever I wake up."

Lang Qingyue felt that this made sense. Powerful Demon Beasts were known for their lethargy, and would often hibernate for months or even years at a ti.

In the end, Lang Qingyue had to explain what Barbarian Tribes were and their tense relationships with the Orthodox Sects.

"Orthodox Sects…?"

"You don't even know that much??"

Lang Qingyue sighed in exasperation. The more she interacted with this ignorant being that had slaughtered a whole group of Bone Refinent Realm cultivators in an instant, the less scary she found him.

"Okay, so basically, there are the Orthodox Factions, which usually consist of 'Righteous Sects,' 'Cultivation Families,' and so Noble Fiefs." Lang Qingyue began with an explanatory tone. "Then there are the Unorthodox Factions, which include Fiendish Cultivators, Sects, Evil Families, and anything else openly evil in the eyes of the Righteous."

"As for Barbarian Clans, Outlanders, Itinerant Cultivators, and the like, we are seen as untrustworthy," Lang Qingyue added. "Because of our unusualness, reclusiveness, or xenophobia, we're often ostracized by both the Orthodox and Unorthodox Factions. Particularly the Orthodox Factions."

"And this ti, under the pretense of avenging fallen envoys that attacked and threatened us first, the Greenfla Sect and Hundred-Eyed Sect joined together and slaughtered everyone in my Clan… Including my mother, father, and little sister…"
