Over the last few weeks, Necro occasionally upgraded so of his Roots and Branches. All that remained to be taken to the next level were two Roots, one Branch, and the Stem.
Without further ado, the EP was spent, and the upgrades placed him at the epicenter of a large eruption of light.
The two smallest Roots grew multiple tis their original size; sharp thorns also made their appearance. The last Branch ca next, as what used to be a thin and frail-looking limb beca sturdier than an oak tree.
Lastly was the Stem, which had beco obviously lacking as of late—especially when considering how it had to support all of Necro's individual parts. But with the upgrade to Level 2, its size exponentially increased, and so too did the striking hue of its colored bark.
Now, Necro looked far more balanced, and was also over 7 feet in height, surpassing the average human by quite a bit.
But the upgrades weren't finished yet…

Without much thought, Necro clicked yes. He was instantly blinded by his own brilliance.

Demon Beasts in a radius of hundreds of ters all noticed the phenonon created by Necro's evolution to Rank 4. And though the less intelligent among them ran away in fright, the smarter ones saw this as an opportunity.
Demon Beasts of Low and Mid-Rank 1 raced through the dilapidated lands, all planning to be the first to arrive and reap the benefits!
However…
SPURT! SPURT!
Necro was not alone.

The gathered Demon Beasts imdiately went on alert; several of their own had died before they even knew what had happened.
Dangerous!
The Shadow Tree Soldiers coldly looked between all of the Demon Beasts. Many were in the Flesh Stage of the Body Refinent Realm, but they themselves were at the Peak of the sa Stage.
After being fed dozens of EP by their Yggdrasil Creator, their cultivation had been on a constant rise.
Now it was ti to put that cultivation to use!
"Roarr—!"
The Demon Beasts roared and hollered at the Shadow Tree Soldiers, attempting to intimidate them. However, they remained unfazed, and with the extending of their arms into needle-like objects, they blurred forward.
SPLURT!
Blood colored the surroundings as three lone, infinitely regenerating Shadow Tree Soldiers faced dozens of Demon Beasts.
Yet even with such odds against them, they turned the ashen forest into a bloodbath…
anwhile, at the source of the commotion in the Devastation Woods.
The large silhouette of a tree over thirty feet tall contrasted greatly with the mostly decayed objects in the vicinity. It stood like a beacon to all those in the Devastation Woods.

Everything felt so much clearer now. Necro could see farther, hear over longer distances, and even whip his Roots around with much greater mobility and accuracy.

Necro nearly jumped back in excitent, realizing that not only could he speak—he also had a face!
Or more accurately, a glowing black and red spherical core that had the rudintary makings of a face.
It sat suspended in midair in the center of his sturdy trunk. If a comparison was made, then this face of his kind of looked like Pac-Man.
"Interesting…" Necro muttered as he figured out he could see in a more linear direction with his Core face. "This will make things more convenient for when humans next enter the area."

Gathering so much Spiritual Energy over the last few months had not been for naught.
"Now I just need to improve their cultivations, sa as with the others."
