"He'll return," said Yuna. "We just need to keep waiting."

Opal, who still retained most of her adorable nature, nodded.

'I know, big sister…' she replied through direct voice transmission. 'The promise he made to Grandma and Grandpa, stating that he'll make sure we're safe. I know he's just trying to keep it whatever way he knows how.'

The both of them stared out at the distant explosions for a while before continuing to go about their days as per usual.

Sotis, that involved venturing to the Nightmarescape and defending the frontlines of the Mistalore Defense Nation. Or, other tis, they would be settling matters of the Royal Family as two of the most capable princesses in the Court.

On so rare occasions, they'd even visit their mother in the Ashikaga Shogunate. There, they'd gossip about King Mistalore, talking about how much of a perverted scumbag he was.

King Mistalore was well aware of these discussions, but what was he to do? It was mostly his fault they were even happening to begin with…

Even with the constance of the Unseen War, people never stopped living their lives. And the cogs of ti ceaselessly turned.

— Centuries later —

After such a long period of ti, Cassius's reserves of Nightscare Shards that he had accumulated through many System Missions were finally starting to dwindle.

But fortunately for him—and the people of the Motherland, who had also grown accustod to the ever-reaching Unseen War—the final players made their grand appearances. They numbered over ten, with the one at the forefront of the group wearing a strangely fatherly expression while staring at the roguish, Immortal-like Cassius.

"Oh, how quickly they grow up… Being a single parent was difficult, but it's all worth it now that I've seen what he has beco…" Soul Emperor Salar beca sentintal, confusing Cassius even more.

"Hey, we helped as well!" the other Soul Emperors chid in. "He nearly drained us dry of every Soul Eater we have in our armies!"

"There are still more of you?" asked Cassius, his voice devoid of emotion. "Well, no matter. You all seem a lot stronger than the rest of the weaklings, thus I'll give you a choice. Either fight one on one, or co at altogether. Whichever you choose is what we'll do."

"This man is quite cocky," said Soul Emperor gora, clicking her tongue. "Unfortunately, he has the right to be. Even I can't fully see through his strength."

"We fed him trillions of Soul Eaters after all," Soul Emperor Nightveil added. "That's even more than we've devoured. His true power level is certainly very, very high; we might not have even witnessed a hundredth of what he's capable of thus far."

"Haha! That's for the best!" Soul Emperor Salar laughed heartily. "The stronger he is, the better it is for ! My dream is right in front of ; I just have to claim it for myself!"

"So, Cassius Steele, Great Anomaly of the Three Realms—kill !!"

"???"

Cassius showed an extrely puzzled expression. Question marks seed to dance around him.

"You want to kill you?" he asked. "Why?"

"Why else!? Because I've lived for so long, been bored for so long! There's nothing that makes want to continue on living, so please, Cassius, kill …! I've made all the preparations, given you everything you needed to advance—now I just need you to finish the job!!"

"Gave everything I needed to advance?" Cassius's brows drew together. "So you're the main one behind the scenes. The one who has been sending all these Soul Eaters to their doom."

"Yes, that's ," replied Soul Emperor Salar, still jovial. "But later on, this lot joined in with their own forces. This made it possible to keep you killing for so long. Long enough to be able to permanently kill us!"

"Not ," Soul Emperor Garthor interjected.

" neither," said Soul Emperor gora. "Don't lump in with the rest of you suicidal idiots. I'm still young and beautiful, with many bright years ahead of ."

The other Soul Emperors blankly stared at the shaless one.

"Anyways, you can kill everyone except for those two," Soul Emperor Salar laughed. "Oh, and since we don't want to die laly, would you honor us with one final battle before we pass on? Call it a dying man's last al."

Cassius was still conflicted about this whole ordeal, but upon further reflection, he figured he wasn't losing out on anything here. Either way, they were going to have to fight.

"Are you fine with an audience, young Cassius? Because you have quite the large one gathered around us," said Soul Emperor Salar as he pointed out countless 1st Class and Transcendent Class Slayers spectating. "I can get rid of them if you'd like—"

"No, they're of no consequence," Cassius interrupted. "Leave them be."

"Very well."

Soul Emperor Salar retracted his hand, restraining the dazzling green fla that nearly burst out and incinerated the powerhouses of the Motherland.

"Let the fight begin then!"

With Salar's announcent, strings of light quickly drew across the skies. This was them already going at it, crossing blades and casting spells at one another.

Even though the Motherland was extraordinarily massive, it still violently shook as a result of paragons like Cassius and the Soul Emperors duking it out.

"That young man has finally t with the Soul Emperors," said Arthur Pendragon from the other side of the Motherland. "And to think that this was a sche to strengthen him to the point that they could kill them. A waste of powerhouses. But a relatable intent nonetheless."

He himself thought about ending it all sotis, but for the sake of protecting the peace between the Three Worlds, he couldn't pass on just yet.

"The chained-up fellows are acting very unusual as of late," Arthur sighed. "I fear that they are planning sothing huge, giving even more reason to continue doing what I've always been doing."

The fight between Cassius and the Soul Emperors took the entire Motherland by storm, eliciting the awe and reverence of many.

And for months and years, their battle seed to be never-ending, with their energy reserves virtually inexhaustible…
