"Co on in," mphis said to the mother-daughter pair as soon as they made it to the tent's entrance. "Her Holiness is expecting you."
Lilia was a little nervous now that it was really coming down to it. Years had passed since she last saw Mikaela, and she couldn't help but wonder if their relationship was the sa as it once was.
But seeing as how she already ca this far, Lilia decided to just go for it.
Brushing aside the curtains of the tent, she walked inside. Sylvy was tightly holding her hand, acting nearly as nervous as she was.
mphis trailed behind them, finding the similarities between her mother and this Lilia quite amusing. They were both so agitated about eting each other that it totally made one overlook the fact that they were both powerhouses of their respective races.
After walking around inside the large tent for a couple of seconds, Lilia and Sylvy ultimately found themselves at the golden-laced flaps leading to the Archangel's room. Three guards of the Godlike Rank were guarding these flaps, their piercing gazes glowing dangerously through their armored helts.
"Scary…" Sylvy mumbled while clenching her mother's dress.
"Quit it," mphis commanded from behind, her voice causing the guards to jump in their own skin. "These are Her Holiness's guests."
"!!!" "!!!" "!!!"
"We deeply apologize, young misses," the guards bowed. "We hope you can find it in your hearts to forgive us!"
"It's… It's fine," Lilia said with an awkward smile, motioning for them to raise their heads. "So can we go in…?"
"Of course!"
The guards imdiately made way for the group, their postures a lot more respectful than before.
"Oh…" Lilia tensed up as she breezed past them with Sylvy. "Th-Thank you for your service."
mphis chortled in the background. But as she passed by the guards, she smiled coldly, as if to warn them to be more careful the next ti they thought about scaring little kids.
Sweating through their armored suits, the guards thanked their lucky stars that they were still alive after acquiring the Divine Priestess's ire.
After entering through the flaps, Lilia and Sylvy were welcod with the enchanting view of a world blessed by gold. Hovering within this isolated dinsion was a monunt that resembled a temple.
"So you've really co," sounded a heavenly voice from within the temple. "I was under the assumption that those stickly old n would never allow you to leave that birdcage. What changed?"
Lilia watched as gold particles drifted out from the temple and took on the shape of a stupendously beautiful angelic woman. Ten wings of the purest form of white shot out the mont her face could be viewed, causing the mother-daughter pair to stand in awe.
"Mother, she's so pretty…" Sylvy's big round eyes sparkled. "Is she your friend?"
Lilia's thoughts scattered as she returned to the present. Her expression turned ever more affectionate as she replied, "Yes, she's my friend. At least… we were once friends…"
Archangel Mikaela frowned. She descended to the pair, and with fleeting steps, she arrived less than a few feet away from the black-haired beauty.
'Is she going to agree…?'
Lilia beca downcast.
"How could you think that, Lily??" Mikaela grabbed hold of her hands, appearing genuinely offended. "It's only been a few thousand years! Why would anything change between you and during that ti!?"
"Huh…?"
Lilia showed a shocked expression.
And what did she an by 'only a few thousand years'!?
It had only been a couple of decades for her!
But looking at the face her friend was making, Lilia froze. A dazzling smile blossod as she thought about how silly she was for believing that anything would change between them.
"Miky, it's really good to see you again," she said earnestly, bringing Mikaela in for a deep hug. "Really, really good."
Startled by the sudden movent, it took Mikaela a mont to return the gesture. Her eyes creased up the sa way as Lilia's as her snow-white wings shimred like jewels.
"Yeah, it's the sa for , Lily…"
They stayed like that until Archangel Mikaela pulled away and stared Lilia down with a serious look on her face. "So, are you going to tell what happened after that womanizing bastard abandoned you or not??"
Lilia pouted. "Don't talk about Adam like that; he didn't abandon . He simply made the smart choice and took our precious baby boy down to the Mortal World to watch over. Adam is a manly man of unparalleled character, mhmm!"
'Son…?' mphis wondered, previously unaware of the last generation's 1st Princess having another kid. 'I heard that she had a scandalous affair with so foreign powerhouse, and that was how Sylvy was born, but I never knew there was another…'
Mikaela, on the other hand, was thinking sothing else entirely. 'This lass is still as big a fangirl as ever of that no-good bastard… Haiz…'
A heavy sneeze echoed in a certain special secret realm of the Ascension Tower, followed by a traveler-like man vigilantly surveying his surroundings for enemies.
"Must've just been another beauty spreading rumors of my unequalled charms. Oh to be invincible…"
anwhile, Archangel Mikaela sighed before teleporting Lilia, Sylvy, mphis, and herself to the marbled temple floating above.
"We have a lot to talk about, Lily," she said while settling down at a table seat. "First off, explain why you were even able to co here in the first place. Everyone knows how that younger sister of yours is when it cos to punishing you for what you did."
A glumness spread around Lilia as she dropped her head off to the side, making a funnily depressed expression.
"No need to be like that, Lily," Mikaela said in a lighthearted tone. "Co on, just give the deets. It's been so-oo boring without your presence all these years. You know, I even had a kid myself."
"Huh!?"
Just as Lilia was going to start her story from the beginning, Archangel Mikaela dropped a bombshell!
