Cassius ignored the System.
Leaning his head against a large boulder, the occasional embers flickering from the withering campfire reflected within his lifeless pupils.
Then, with one final crackle, ti seed to freeze. The whole world turned black and gray. Only the playfully whistling Idle Evolution System emoticon retained any color. And with a subtle yet all-encompassing snap from the sa emoticon, everything—from the Azura Fla to the incinerated continents to ti itself—was sucked into a vortex.
Extrely complex and esoteric elents swirled together in incomprehensibly vast quantities. They moved in ways that would awe even the most powerful and ancient Ancestors of the Ascension Tower—thods casually employed by the one and only Idle Evolution System.
Finally, once everything that was Challenge #99,999 had been swirled together into the vortex, it condensed. The srizing vortex beca smaller and smaller at a rapid pace until it was no larger than a pea.
All that remained as proof of Challenge #99,999's existence was the heartbroken man standing in the middle of an empty space—frozen in ti. He lay slumped against thin air, his imnse pain and internal agony as clear as day.
Then there was the tiny galaxy-like vortex—one that slowly undulated in the air. It made its way toward Cassius, and with one quick motion, it entered his body and assimilated with a specific part of him: his Will.
[That's that, then!] the System said nonchalantly as it snapped its digital fingers once more. [Next up is the final course for the night—Challenge #100,000!]
Just like that, ti resud. In the sa instant, Cassius was suddenly transported to a very familiar White Space. He stood atop a brilliantly shining gold platform, one that perfectly matched the 99,998 platforms situated behind it at a progressive decline.
"Challenge #99,999 was a success," Cassius said as he familiarized himself with… well, himself. "The feeling I'm experiencing right now is so surreal… I rember entering the Challenge, then feeling like I was high. After that, I skipped straight to the end, where the System spoke of various things I couldn't quite understand…"
What he was recalling was rely what the Idle Evolution System allowed him to recall. Even this was only given to him because the System was… too lazy to go over everything with him again.
Plus, explaining why he decided to forget everything would've been a real bother. An easier solution—the one the System used—was to simply augnt his mories and make it seem like his mind had been ssing with him during the Challenge.
It was like Cassius had gotten really, really drunk, then beca hungover, then got injected with hardcore drugs, only to once again beco sober. Hence, why he felt beside himself right now.
To ensure it flawlessly got away with its professional gaslighting, the Idle Evolution System threw out a few distractions.
[As they say, to distract a monkey, just show it sothing shiny!] the System internally thought to itself.
*Ding~!*
[You have passed Evolutionary-tier Challenge #99,999, 'The Whacky Universe'!]
[You have erased all life in The Whacky Universe, thus obtaining experience points in massive quantities!]
[Experience Bar moved by ludicrous amounts!]
[Your 'Will' has advanced by leaps and bounds!]
['Peak Iron Will' → 'Peak Diamond Will']
OOUNG!
Cassius felt a weird sensation course through him, one that made him feel even more invincible than when he gained all those Strength Stat Points from achieving the Nightmare Trainer Rank. It was a rather intangible sensation, for he couldn't precisely pinpoint where it even originated.
In all honesty, he had no idea where his 'Will' was even located…
*Ding!*
[The Will is located anywhere and everywhere inside your existence, Dear Host! Even you yourself are but a re extension of your Will!]
"I see," Cassius said with a contemplative expression. "Well, regardless of how that makes sense, will the last Challenge begin right now or later—"
[Of course it'll start right now, you silly billy! In this life of yours, breaks are but a re fragnt of your past! Why else do you think you still feel constant pain!? If you were to go a period of ti without feeling that pain—truly feeling it—you'd beco soft.]
[Breaks from anything related to Character Developnt are simply impossible, umu~!]

"…I get it already," Cassius said coolly, looking up at the final floating platform—one whose color couldn't be seen. "Can you stop with the suspense already? Just show what else I have to do to get my Class."
[Stop being so pushy!] the System said with a pout. [I'm just making sure everything is correct for you… Humph! This is what I get for being a sweetheart!]
Cassius scoffed. "There's not a single sweet bone in your body," he said while watching the 100,000th platform descend from the highest point of the White Space. "You do, however, have sadism ingrained into every one of your atoms. That fact makes curious to see just what you have in store for this—"
[Aww, shucks~, you had at 'You're the bestest System to ever be created!']
