—Nanomorph—
It was what the Dissonants used whenever they wanted to take over an area one step at a ti. In their blood existed the smallest of nanobots, and programd into those nanobots was the ability to 100% extract and copy over the existence of another. Excluding elusive things like the Soul—which the Dissonants were unsure even existed—everything else could be perfectly extracted and infused elsewhere.
However, once the Nanomorph Ability was used on another living organism, that living organism would lose all that they once had. Thus giving them the na 'Husks.'
This was exactly what was happening to mphis right now…
*Bzzzmm…*
The process was completed.
The original mphis was no more, now replaced by soone that talked, acted, and inherited everything that she once was. But she… she was no longer mphis… Continue reading stories on My Virtual Library Empire
"It's done?" asked the Battlemonger.
mphis twitched repeatedly, then stopped. Turning toward the four other Dissonants, she replied, "It's done. My forr body is over there; give it to one of the others. This body's husk is lying beside it and will be transported to the Mothership in a few seconds. As for the Bloodline and Abilities of this human female, they're even more extraordinary than expected—Wait… What!? No!!! Don't!!!"
"!?!?" "!?!?"
The other Dissonants stared wide-eyed at mphis, watching in shock as a radiant golden light erupted from all her orifices. She turned into so kind of vessel overflowing with golden light. Barla's silent screams mixed in with the light as her pain surpassed levels she hadn't even thought possible.
"What is happening to her!?" the Battlemonger roared. He lunged forward in an attempt to save Barla, but so sort of golden forcefield prevented him from getting within ten inches of her.
"Do not test your luck, outsider." An archaic voice echoed, one that sounded as if it predated the very world itself. "This one is not yours to take. Find yourselves sothing else to entertain you, lest I use you as my entertainnt."
The illusory visage of a ten-winged woman adorned in golden silk materialized above mphis's head. Her eyes were mystically enchanting and shone a deep gold, with her pupils a permanent depiction of the Eyes of Divinity. Yet, to the Dissonants below, her eyes looked akin to the piercing eyes of the cruelest of devils.
The visage's figure was molded beyond mortal standards and emphasized her exquisite curves to a master craftsman's level. As for her face… No words could properly describe the beauty she possessed. Through her immaculate beauty, one could see her pure golden strands of hair fluttering about. Like a goddess descended from the heavens above, she appeared to gaze down upon those not worthy to be in her presence.
As soon as the gorgeous ten-winged woman gracefully landed on the ground, her eyes shifted over to the now unresponsive Barla. Her sight also fell upon the lifeless husk crumpled up off to the side.
A large amount of killing intent welled up inside the winged woman. It quickly overflowed and suffocated the surroundings, causing the World-class Hunters and Speedster to feel an imnse amount of pressure. Their knees buckled beneath them, and they hit the ground with loud thuds.
But just as they thought they'd die, the pressure subsided. The winged woman's voice followed:
"Normally, I'd just kill you bunch and be done with it, but as Destiny would have it, a much worse fate is in store for all of you. Being locked to the Trial Tower of Humanity will be the worst thing to have ever happened to your race."
Finishing off with those words, the enchanting winged woman tugged her fingers at mphis. The temporarily blanked consciousness of Barla was stripped from everything that she had stolen from mphis. Then, as if working with the hands of God, the winged woman fused mphis's existence back into her husk, thus restoring her to how she was.
Feeling no need to say anything more to a bunch of weakling grunts, the illusory winged woman lifted mphis with the power of telekinesis and then ascended in two flashes of golden light.
— After a few minutes to digest —
"Angels," the Battlemonger muttered. "No matter the world or place, Angels have and will always be troubleso existences. Especially the high-ranking ones with so many wings…"
He looked over at Barla's ripped-out existence. Although she managed to naturally find her way back into her original at suit, it would still take at least a week before full recovery could be made possible.
"What do we do now?" Bladedevil asked, his eyes also fixed on the dilapidated sight of Barla. "With our bait taken away by the Angels of this place, we need to find another way to lure 'its' son to where we want him positioned."
After a mont of thought, the Battlemonger replied, "We'll just have to make do with, say… threatening him with the complete annihilation of his ho country," said the Battlemonger. "Everyone he knows and cares about lives there. Even if he's able to save so in ti, he won't be able to save them all."
"This ans operation 'Burning World' is still a go?" Bladedevil asked.
The Battlemonger nodded. "Around when Judgent Day begins, we'll rain fire from the sky and bring about the END of this world before the Main Entree of the Nexus Event can get to it. This will not only threaten 'it' as planned, but it will also add a double layer of insurance as it will threaten the safety of the sub-target."
"Very well," said Bladedevil, already lugging Barla over his decrepit shoulder. "We'll proceed with this plan. And then ten days from now—"
"Ten days from now," the Battlemonger finished for him. "We'll lure 'it' out of hiding and finally achieve what we've been wanting to for the last two years."
*WHIIiizzzz…*
The Isolation Barrier started to go down, bringing back the original scenery of the Earth Crusaders' massive Guild complex.
The Battlemonger imdiately turned toward the 100 S-Rank Hunters eerily staring at them. Even mphis's 'friends' were no different, as they twitched and spasd all over.
