"!!!" 'Wha—!?'
Although he was not moving at his fastest, there still should've been absolutely no way that anyone other than the World-class Hunters could react to his speed! It was simply impossible!
'But then,' Victor thought as he looked up and saw a splendiferous pair of eyes glaring at him. 'What the hell is this???'
He back-stepped at once, getting his hand free from mphis's grasp. Ti returned to normal, and everyone's eyes fell on the two of them.
Not once over the last couple of minutes had Victor Rapido reappeared anywhere other than the center of the field. But now, under their confused gazes, they saw the fastest man alive taking an apprehensive stance against the cold-faced newbie. They noticed her hand retracting, then saw the mild burn mark on Victor's right wrist, and were able to connect the dots.
"Did the Ice Princess actually see Victor move…?"
"Not only that, but it seems that she was able to counterattack and force him back!"
"How is this possible!? Her revealed Attributes were exceptional—even among the S-Rank—but they were nowhere near the level necessary to deal with Victor Rapido! He's the fastest man alive, for God's sake!"
"A special, hidden Ability perhaps!? That's definitely it!"
"But for it to be capable of coping with Victor's ridiculous speed… the S Rank… It must be of the S Rank, just like the Skills of the World-class Hunters!"
Many mbers of the Earth Crusaders had originally overlooked mphis—not because she was a girl or because of her backwater origins—but because of her Class. She had awakened with the 'Ice Paladin' Class, which, although an extrely rare Class, was a very difficult Class to sh with others in a Party.
And considering the high-danger Purple-rank Gates that the Earth Crusaders entered on a daily basis, without a Party, they would essentially be committing suicide. Only Red-rank Gates of far less importance and value would be relegated to these sorts of Misfit S-Rank Hunters. Hence the pri cause for mphis being overlooked.
But now… now things had changed.
Dozens of S-Rank powerhouses started to swarm the emotionless mphis. They hounded her with questions and showed imnse amounts of interest.
anwhile, Victor Rapido—the Fastest Man Alive—was left on the sidelines. His mind was still spiraling in confusion as he tried to understand what had happened.
Suddenly, he shifted his eyes toward the indifferent girl, searching for sothing. But he was instantly left disappointed. Those golden crossed eyes weren't there; they must've been an illusion.
'No!' Victor exclaid. 'That can't be…! I definitely saw them!'
But the fact remained that they weren't there.
With a clouded mind, Victor turned away from the hundred-plus S-Rank Hunters. On his way back to the Auditorium, he called out, "Training for today is over; you're all dismissed. I'm going to speak with your Guild Leader and Vice Guild Leaders."
The S-Rank Hunters were ecstatic over this information.
"This is all thanks to mphis, the Ice Princess!"
"One yip for mphis!"
"Yip!!"
"Two yips for mphis…!"
Cheers and claps resounded as everyone stared at the beautiful golden-eyed girl with joyous expressions. They were too imrsed in the satisfaction that ca from Victor getting a taste of his own dicine to notice mphis not looking at them, but rather at the receding back of the suave blonde-haired speedster. 'I wonder if -he- is faster than this so-called fastest man alive… And if so, will this Symbol also work on -him-?'
She wasn't exactly positive what the Eyes of Divinity were fully capable of, but she knew for certain that activating them didn't directly increase her speed. Rather, they sohow adjusted her paraters to whatever paraters her target had. This, in turn, reduced her Strength, Endurance, Intelligence, and Perception to whatever Victor was using in base form.
However, what she did not know was where exactly the limit for this ethereal ability lay…
If Victor were going all-out, would she have still been able to match his speed?
What about if she were facing -him-...?
So many unanswered questions, and no one to answer them. Hell, she didn't even know why this Ability suddenly appeared now of all tis! What were its origins?? Why was it not a part of the original skill sheet she received from the Hunter's Association when she went to take her Hunter's test!?
In the end, thinking any more on the matter would bring about nothing useful…
mphis sighed before helplessly enduring the praise and thanks of her Guildmates. Her only two friends in the Guild—who were standing in the back—were enjoying every second of her suffering. She couldn't help but lant her fate for befriending such characters.

The S-Rank Hunters dispersed, each one returning to whatever it was they were doing before. mphis, however, bid farewell to her cheeky friends and made her way toward a clearing located on the other side of the Auditorium. There, she saw the nacing Guild Leader and his three equally terrifying Vice Guild Leaders. Beside them was the arrogant Victor Rapido, his eyes wholly focused on her.
'I was called here telepathically, but what is it that they want from ? Did Victor say sothing? Likely…'
"I hear that you have a particularly unusual hidden Ability," said the Battlemonger. "But you needn't worry; none of us here will interrogate you about this Ability or how you obtained it. However…"
'However…?' mphis frowned, preparing to activate her hand symbol at the slightest sign of danger.
"Calm, child," said Barla, her voice naturally soothing. "What this old man ans to say is that we have no interest in your Ability, but we are interested in your Allegiance to the Guild. Though we do not doubt you, we need to make sure you can handle any… trouble that our Guild gets into in the future."
'Trouble?' mphis parroted. 'What could possibly cause any trouble for the strongest and most influential Guild in the World…?'
Barla smiled at the beautiful girl's confusion. "We have no issues dealing with anything on this planet, even if the threat may be the S-Rank Hunters ranked #1 and #2."
The Battlemonger's brows deeply furrowed at the ntion of those two people…
