This amulet device ca from the remains of the Alien, collected by Cassius not long after he brought about the END of the Oblivion's Threshold Gate. During the ti before everything ended, he also just barely managed to teleport everyone out and absorb part of the Gremlin Extraterrestrial Fiend's mories. He couldn't get all of its mories, and there was likely no way he could have. If not for his quick thinking and acting, the Alien would've certainly escaped, and everything would've been for nothing. Instead of getting partial mories, he would have gotten no mories.

From the very first mont Cassius heard the na of the Gate Viola would be bringing him to, he had been devising and revising a way to eliminate the thing that had been stalking him. He had his suspicions of the stalker's intergalactic origins, but it wasn't until his senses were heightened with the use of his Trump Card that he confird them. In that mont, he knew the plan he concocted was all worth it in the end.

The loot he gained from slaying the Oblivion Acolyte was just a bonus in his mind. There were also the rewards given to him for completing the Side Quest, which were, again, just more bonuses.

What he was after—what he had been gunning for since the very start—were the mories of the Alien. mories that he successfully extracted with the assistance of a Mid-Ruby Rank Skill called 'Mind Dig'. Though, that wasn't the only Skill that had a part to play in this operation, as the Peak-Ruby Rank Skill 'Mass Indoctrination' also did wonders in truly making everything co together as it had.

However, although the latter Skill was used on all of the S-Rank Russian Hunters imdiately after teleporting them out, it was not used on…

"So, are you going to tell what really happened in there, 'Weak' hooded man? Is Cassius even your real na?"

'Viola…' Cassius thought to himself as he sighed and left the folds of reality. The coast was clear, so there was no point in further concealing himself.

After sitting down on the large chunk of rubble leaning against Viola's rubble chunk, he corrected his shadowy hood and spoke without looking in her direction. "I have no clue what you're talking about, Ms. Viola. Do you think I'm so CIA agent or sothing? The na you know by is my real na. And why are you asking about what happened in there when you were there as well? You tell : What happened in there?"

Viola's lips moved, but no words ca out.

Ultimately, she just harrumphed and crossed her slender arms under her not-so-slender bosom. "You really are such an infuriating man. Don't you know that secretive n aren't popular with the ladies? One might think you're a serial killer!"

Cassius's brows raised. "A serial killer, huh? I… I have much, much to learn if I am to play the killing ga professionally. Much to learn, indeed…"

After imbibing the mories of the Alien he slaughtered, he understood what it truly ant to be a killer.

That race—the Dissonants—they were killers on a level that he was many years away from hoping to match. Entire planets and solar systems had fallen to the tyranny of the Dissonants. Billions upon billions of lives had been tallied up by them.

However, those sa Dissonants now found themselves invading Earth—invading the Ascension Tower.

The acquired mories from there onward were incomplete, but what Cassius was able to make out were two strings of distorted dialogue. The first string spoke of how 'Earth' and the 'Ascension Tower' were not what they seed and sothing about an 'Illusion' or 'Delusion'—it was sothing like that.

And then there was the second string of distorted dialogue. This one spoke not of the setting but of a search… The Dissonants were searching for sothing.

And he… he was the key to their search.

As for how precisely he was connected with the search, Cassius had no idea. He only knew that this Gremlin Extraterrestrial Fiend was not the only one tasked with keeping an eye on him. This surely ant that there would be more popping up in the future… and they might even be stronger than he was.

If Cassius wished to retain his peaceful life on Earth without so foreign big-headed martians getting in the way, then he had to do what he did best.

Train. Train and grind.

Coincidentally, the Idle Evolution System had sothing to guide him to this end.
