702: Chapter 46 Power Grab and Death 702: Chapter 46 Power Grab and Death The newbies couldn’t believe their ears, staring at the Captain in disbelief.
Were they being discarded just like that, worth less than even cheap toilet paper?
“What are you dawdling for, regroup!” The Captain ignored these civilians and turned to leave.
He had nothing to fear; he still had almost three hundred n under his command.
As long as the enemy wasn’t blind, they wouldn’t dare to attack.
“Sir, wait!” The native Captain’s face changed drastically.
He hurriedly ran a few steps to catch up to the Captain.
He had witnessed the combat power of Tang Zheng and Dantai.
Their terrifying accuracy, scoring headshots with each shot, along with the fully ard won who maintained calm expressions in a battlefield where death could occur at any mont, could this be the deanor of ordinary people?
“What do you want?” The Captain swung his arm away, visibly unhappy.
“Give them a lift, they’re part of a special unit.” The native Captain wasn’t sure how to explain.
He could tell that this Captain was arrogant and likely owed his position to nepotism.
Otherwise, how could half of his squadron have been lost?
“Even if the military police ca, they’d still have to bow before , useless lot.” The Captain spat and glanced at Tang Zheng, “To be honest, the number of vehicles I have is limited, you guys should run back.”
“Sir, forcing civilians to cross a war zone, this is murder!” An overly-just young soldier saluted and reported loudly.
“It’s none of your business, if you care about them, then stay behind!” The Captain glared at him, before announcing, “Whoever dares to utter anything unnecessary, get off my vehicle and eat dust.
Move!”
Just as the Captain finished speaking, he felt a blur in front of his eyes and two figures rushed forward.
Then, he felt a sharp pain in his right arm.
With a snap, his arm was dislocated.
The Captain’s soldiers were taken by surprise.
They imdiately raised their rifles and aid at them.
“Put down your guns, or I’ll kill him!” Dantai held the Thunderstorm rifle in one hand, and a cluster hand grenade in the other, intimidating them.
The soldiers’ faces changed.
Seeing the size of the grenade, none of them would escape if it exploded.
“My hand, you bastards, you insignificant civilians, do you know who my uncle is?” The Captain, drenched in cold sweat from the pain, cursed hysterically.
Tang Zheng clenched his right fist and landed it on the young Captain’s mouth, knocking loose two teeth and making him spit out blood.
He then grabbed the man’s hair, pulled it downward, and swiftly raised his knee.
Boom, the Captain was hit in the stomach, feeling as though his viscera and intestines were being twisted together.
He convulsed uncontrollably, and a surge of acid rose to his mouth.
“Cough, bastard!” After retching, the Captain was about to curse again when Tang Zheng delivered another knee strike.
The captain’s legs softened, and he fell.
But his scalp ached because Tang Zheng was still holding onto his hair.
“Let, let go!” The Captain, in trendous pain, finally began to beg for rcy.
“You know what to do!” Tang Zheng put away the Beetle, grabbed the Captain with one hand, thrust his gun muzzle under the latter’s chin and held him up.
He took the lead and walked outside, “Captain, help explain it, say this guy has abandoned his duties for personal reasons, and isn’t cooperating.”
The soldiers waiting outside saw their commander being carried out like a limp fish, and they were imdiately startled, all their guns pointed at Tang Zheng.
“Your commander has disobeyed orders and has been relieved of his duties.
Now, I’m in command.
My mission is not to fight, but to take Tang Lu and the other two safely back to base!” Tang Zheng announced in a stern and resonant voice, “If anyone has any questions, you can consult him.”
The native Captain felt a little at a loss being nad by Tang Zheng, but he stiffened his neck and nodded anyway.
He wasn’t foolish; seeing a few gun muzzles faintly aid at him, if he were to refuse, he’d be the first to be shot.
Seeing that there was no mutiny, and the soldiers knew that this mission was to rescue, it seed that the targets were these people.
Plus, the Captain’s command had been too disastrous—it had resulted in the loss of more than two hundred n within half an hour.
The soldiers naturally held grievances.
In this era, no one wanted to follow a foolish commander and march to their death.
Three hundred ters away, a team of chanical soldiers spotted this group and imdiately began to attack, leaving the soldiers no choice but to respond intuitively by choosing to obey.
The two sides began to exchange fire, and the armored vehicles began to rotate their turrets, suppressing gunfires at them.
“Quick, get on the war chariot.
iqin, help the newbies drive.” Tang Zheng, carrying the Captain, rushed onto the command vehicle.
The newbies wanted to stay with him, but were stopped by Yu Manli, “Go to the other one.”
The mature woman Yu knew her place well and knew that she wasn’t qualified.
She and Pang iqin both climbed into the second armored vehicle.
The newbies had no choice but to look at Chu Baichuan carrying the pregnant Ai Yixin getting on the command vehicle with envy, jealousy, and hatred.
They soon ca to their senses and scrambled towards the armored vehicle.
These war vehicles had limited interior space, each could hold at most ten people.
Naturally, this ant that so unlucky people would have to get on the third vehicle, which also ant a decrease in chances of survival.
The two Japanese n were quick and reacted quickly, just slower by one step than Pang iqin.
But as soon as they sat down, they saw Ruan Feifei outside with a nacing look and electrical arcs flickering in her hands.
“Get out if you don’t want to die.” Ruan Feifei didn’t mind earning so brownie points at this mont.
Pang iqin, who had gotten into the driver’s seat, also yelled out in Japanese, telling them to get down.
The two Japanese n’s faces changed.
They hesitated, one of the drivers clutching his head, trying to rush past Ruan Feifei.
But just as he rushed past her, the female host spun around and swept him in the head with her leg.
The driver’s head buzzed, and he fell out.
“All n go to the other vehicle.” Ruan Feifei discharged a blue electric arc, hitting the inside of the car.
Of course, the pitiful man, Xu Liangmao, was an exception.
“Be careful, do not damage the driving system.” Pang iqin, while getting familiar with the operation, loudly complained.
In truth, she figured it would be better off leaving the three n behind.
They would do more good as cannon fodder than Jing Xiang and her group could.
“Get out.” Yu Manli was even terser, directly pointed her muzzle at them.
Li Xinlan held on to the little girl, helping her get on the armored car.
“Xin Lan sister, hurry up!” Xu Biyun was standing at the hatch, yelling at the young woman.
The engine was already revving, ready to depart at any mont.
“Xu Liang Mao, you go, I’ll stay in the car.” Li Xinlan’s compassion surged forward, wanting to protect the little girl.
As for the person to take over, she hoped that since Tang Zheng’s armored car is very powerful, she chose Xu Liang Mao.
“No, let Hong sister go.” Pang iqin disagreed.
Xu Liang Mao was an essential combat force.
Otherwise, what if they had to fight?
Was she supposed to rely on those rookies with wobbly legs?
“Hong sister should go.” Yu Manli didn’t want to offend Li Xinlan, but when it ca to her own comfort, there was nothing to hesitate about.
Hong sister, delighted, had just stepped out to change vehicles when the female office worker, Li Ju, darted out faster than her, sprinting towards the command vehicle like a rabbit.
“Never mind.
Let her go.” Hong sister’s face stiffened with consternation and annoyance.
However, realizing that she couldn’t rectify the situation, she took a seat back calmly, displaying her magnanimity.
With a face full of excitent, Li Ju ran with all her might.
She knew that getting inside the command vehicle and getting closer to Tang Zheng ant a greater chance of survival.
Seeing all the soldiers move and fight, the female office worker accelerated her steps, urging herself in her heart – faster, faster.
The chanical soldiers have stord in within a hundred ters, throwing hand grenades with all their might.
The three chanical squids in the team also opened their suckers, launching hundreds of missiles.
“Move!” Each vehicle captain was shouting loudly.
The missiles were too dense, making them impossible to intercept.
With the engine roaring, over thirty armored cars darted out unevenly, leaving heavily imprinted tire tracks and raising a large billow of dust.
“Wait for !” Li Ju, only a few steps away from the command vehicle, watched as its tires skid forward, propelling it dozens of ters away.
Her complexion drained as she yelled out with all the strength in her.
“Did I ask you to drive?” Seeing the driver acting on his own, Tang Zheng got furious and directly pointed his gun at his head.
“No, I didn’t.” The driver’s voice trembled.
In the past, as a driver for the captain, he didn’t need specific instructions to escape danger, but now he crossed paths with such an oddball.
“Stop!” Tang Zheng roared.
By this ti, Dantai was already standing on top of the vehicle, operating the vehicle-mounted machine guns to shoot the incoming missiles, but it was already too late.
Missiles landed on the ground, carrying out carpet bombings, and Li Ju couldn’t run away.
She was completely enveloped, and the explosion threw up dust, revealing visible limb fragnts flying up.
“May God bless.” Hong sister brought her hands together in prayer, muttering under her breath.
She was sweating cold bullets, thinking that if it hadn’t been for Li Ju running out there first, she would have died.
“Tang Zheng really is a good man.
He even wanted to save a stranger.” Chen Hong sighed seeing the command vehicle stop, quietly wishing she were eligible enough to sit in there.
The newcors naturally saw the command vehicle stop and could not help but sigh.
Tang Zheng is a good man, but Li Ju’s luck was truly unfortunate.
“Bastard!” Tang Zheng pulled out his M1911A1 from the holster.
“Don’t kill !” The driver’s voice stopped abruptly.
A bullet pierced through the back of his head, blowing up his skull and sending bits of it flying.
The Conquerors remained calm, not blaming Tang Zheng for his rashness.
A death of a rookie with negligible worth would indeed frustrate anyone.
Suppressing his disgust, Bai Guo opened the door and pushed the corpse out.
Just as he was about to sit in the blood-soaked driver’s seat, Xu Biyun stopped him.
“Let do it, I have experience with this.” Xu Biyun has played plenty of gas, and has even exchanged her skills for vehicle driving.
The bullets from the chanical soldiers hit the armor, making a clattering sound.
It was as dense as raindrops but decreased significantly after Xu Biyun started driving.
“Let’s rush back to base this way!” Tang Zheng grabbed the car’s communicator, roared a sentence through it, then turned it off.
“Bi Yun, drive the car to a position at the back of the fleet.”
Within less than a minute, the chanical soldiers in the rear have been shaken off.
However, before the fleet could rejoice, a platoon of helicopters appeared on the radar.
Three kiloters away, they launched rocket shells.
A few seconds later, two armored cars were turned into fireballs, flipped over at the side of the road.
The chanical soldiers had discovered Tang Lu, naturally reporting it back to the command center.
Upon receiving orders from the Queen Mother, the officers did not dare to slack off and sent air forces to snipe at them.
They even brought along the powerful Queen Mother’s clone.
