264: Chapter 18: Stone Bridge Fight and Another Team of Toys 264: Chapter 18: Stone Bridge Fight and Another Team of Toys The remaining thirty-one survivors huddled on the stone bridge, anxious all day, the foul odor emanating from the venom pool was stimulating everyone’s sense of sll, making them nauseous.
Other than the cries behind prompting them to hurry, all that was left were the suffocating gasps and anxiety.
“I need to add so amusent for you.” Alice’s hoarse voice echoed in the room, and then she pulled out a deck of poker cards from the pocket of her apron, tossed them on the ground, and sprung out a cloud of black mist that summoned over twenty poker soldiers, which stord onto the stone bridge.
“Damn, I knew it wouldn’t be that easy.” Tang Zheng’s AK74 began to roar, emanating an angry fla, and bullets hit the one at the forefront, splashing deep red blood.
Thump, after firing half a drum magazine, Tang Zheng finally killed one, but the stopping power of the gun was too poor, and the poker soldiers had already rushed up.
By this ti Tang Zheng had walked less than seven ters.
He looked back at the students on the bridge, and did not think of knocking them aside and running past.
Instead, he lifted the butt of the rifle and used brute strength to knock the poker soldiers into the venom pool.
Although the red-hooded poker soldiers were hunched over, they still had a height close to two ters, an armspan exceeding one ter, and triple the strength of an average person.
This gave them an invincible superiority in close combat.
If Tang Zheng hadn’t been guarding from the back, all the students would have been caught and torn to shreds.
Tang Zheng kicked out and then quickly retreated, creating so distance.
He kept his hands moving quickly, loading a high-explosive grenade into the grenade launcher attached to his AK74.
After changing to a new clip and pointing the muzzle straight, he opened fire.
Boom, the grenade hit the chest of a poker soldier, bursting into a ball of fla and smoke, directly knocking them back a bit.
“Damn, this kid is insane.” Seeing the grenade explode less than two ters away from Tang Zheng, Zhang Hao was startled.
Even if Tang Zheng was wearing a Firefly protective suit, he shouldn’t be performing such dangerous actions.
His unprotected head could easily be injured.
Due to the close proximity, Tang Zheng was indeed thrown off balance by the blast wave, but he regained balance after a few shakes.
Li Xinlan and others, on the other hand, were scared to death, fearing any mishap.
The explosion of the grenade bought Tang Zheng a few dozen seconds of free ti, but the students on the bridge beca even more panicked at the sound of gunfire and seeing Lin Weiguo and others shooting, making more mistakes in their haste and slowing them down even more.
A girl in the middle of the stone bridge was walking too hurriedly and began to sway.
This scared her and she imdiately squatted down, sobbing.
“Hurry up, just hurry up.” Han Zifeng’s friend, the earring-wearing guy, was right behind her.
Seeing this situation, he was sweating bullets and wished he could push her down, especially as the thumping sounds of heavy objects falling into the venom pool ca from behind, further stimulating and tornting their nerves.
Most of the students were busy moving forward with their heads buried, not daring to look back, so they didn’t realize the thumps were the sound of Tang Zheng knocking the poker soldiers down.
They believed it was the sound of their fellow students being killed and thrown off.
“Co out, crows.” With Alice’s call, holes opened in the ceiling, and then a mass of crows cawed out and fluttered their wings like bombers, swooping down and pecking at the bodies of the students on the stone bridge.
About a thousand crows wreaked havoc in the room, causing the students to panic even more as they waved to try to drive them away.
“Get out.” The earring-wearing guy couldn’t stand it anymore, he suddenly reached out and pushed, sending the girl in front of him into the venom pool.
The thousands of crows attacking the students not only blocked their view but also prevented them from defending themselves, so the earring-wearing guy was not afraid of being discovered.
After all, he had already killed soone, and he quickly felt relieved.
“Stay calm, don’t push around.” Li Xinlan shouted, trying to maintain order, while Qin Yan was lying on the floor, aiming at the disobedient earring-wearing guy and pulling the trigger.
Bang, a burst of blood popped out of the earring-wearing guy’s chest, and he plunged headfirst into the pool.
“Ha, you’ve killed too?” Zhang Hao looked back at Han Zifeng, the first one to crawl over, ready to vent his anger on him, but spotting the unfavorable situation, the guy imdiately turned around and ran into the passageway.
“As long as Tang Zheng is alive, it doesn’t matter if these people die.” Qin Yan gritted her teeth.
If she hadn’t known that Tang Zheng wouldn’t permit it, she would have shot and killed them all long ago.
Fearing that there were any traps in the passage ahead, Zhang Hao gave up on pursuing Han Zifeng.
Lu Fan held her revolver and moved forward with difficulty in front of Tang Zheng.
Being a small person with an unstable lower body, the impact of the crow’s attacks was significant.
She almost fell into the pool several tis.
Tang Zheng emptied another clip and imdiately took it out to smash the poker soldier’s head.
Then, with one hand, he pulled out the bronze sword and slashed it across the chest of the one leading the charge.
He then kicked it over and quickly ran a few steps to reach Lu Fan.
He picked up his AK74, grabbed her with one hand, and put her on his back.
“Hold on to .” After Tang Zheng yelled, he brandished his bronze sword with his left hand, and a poker soldier leaped up, trying to fly over Tang Zheng’s head and directly pounce on the students.
Tang Zheng swiped his right hand over the space wristwatch, and the crossbow appeared in his hand.
He lifted it, followed the movent of the poker soldier, and without being able to calculate how far ahead he needed to aim, he shot three crossbow arrows in the possible direction the enemy could attack from.
Thud, the second crossbow arrow pierced the flesh, stabbing the chest of the poker soldier.
This caused it to lose its balance, and only one of its feet landed on the stone bridge, causing it to fall into the pool.
Lu Fan tightly gripped Tang Zheng’s shoulder with one hand, careful not to strangle his neck for fear of affecting his breathing.
At the sa ti, he furiously waved his right hand to drive away the crows swooping towards Tang Zheng’s head to prevent them from obstructing his view.
When he ran out of crossbow arrows, Tang Zheng drew his double-handed Slaughter Axe and miraculously turned into a dual-wielding warrior.
Fighting while retreating, he singlehandedly held off the onslaught of the poker guards.
When Tang Zheng reached the middle of the stone bridge, all twenty-three poker guards had been cleared.
Alice ascended the bridge behind them but didn’t follow.
Instead, she played with her kitchen knife, watching their desperate struggle for survival.
The students managed to get ashore one after the other, imdiately plunging into the passageway without stopping to rest.
They didn’t want to linger in this place a second longer.
“What is that girl doing?” Li Xinlan, noticing Tang Zheng in front of her, tugged at his hand and asked in bewildernt.
“Not sure.
Can this stone bridge be retracted?” Tang Zheng asked Lin Weiguo who shook his head in response, “No, the lever is completely immovable.”
“We’re not going to have that crazy girl chasing us the whole ti, are we?” Zhang Hao spat and suggested, “Give her a few bombs, that’ll send her to the afterlife.”
“You’re surprisingly smart for once,” Lin Weiguo’s eyes lit up as he imdiately pulled out a C4 explosive, planning to place it on the bridge.
“No, the power is too great.
We don’t want to cause a collapse and besides, without spiritual power attack, it most likely won’t work,” said Tang Zheng, taking out ten spiritual power hand grenades and handing them to Lin Weiguo, “Use these.”
“You go ahead, I’ll be right behind you.” As a professional, Lin Weiguo was the right person to handle these tasks.
“Go on ahead.” Tang Zheng instructed Li Xinlan and the others, “Old Lin is getting exhausted, I’ll assist him.”
In a crisis like this, no one hesitated.
They imdiately set off.
Qin Yan and Li Xinlan took lead to scout the road ahead in attempt to lighten Tang Zheng’s burden.
Tang Zheng changed drum magazines and began firing again.
Bullets hit the bridge, chipping off chunks of stone.
However, when they hit Alice, they just went right through without causing any harm.
“Unbelievable, I didn’t believe it at first, but this girl is really immune to firearms,” Tang Zheng’s brows knitted enough to crush a crab.
How could he handle this?
Would he let her calmly summon monsters to chase them endlessly?
“Did you grab the wrong bullets?” Lin Weiguo asked as he cut off the fishing line with a folding knife.
Although his face looked casual, his hands worked steadily.
“How could I make such a mistake?
All the bullets I shot were glowing green,” Tang Zheng took out a spiritual power hand grenade, bit off the safety pin, and then released the spring clip.
He bent down, swung his arm, and threw it towards Alice.
The grenade rolled to Alice’s feet and exploded, but her creepy laughter didn’t cease.
Three seconds later, she walked out of the smoke unscathed.
“That’s it, let’s retreat.” As soon as Lin Weiguo finished setting the trap, he imdiately patted Tang Zheng’s shoulder, signaling him to start sprinting.
“Unfortunately, it’s no use.” Tang Zheng retreated and ran a few steps before spinning around and sprinting off, not giving a second thought to whether or not the trap would explode.
“Is Alice just like those bosses in gas whom physical attacks are worthless against, and must be killed with magic?”
Tang Zheng felt a headache coming on.
Among his team, only Li Xinlan and possibly Lu Fan possessed magic attack thods.
This ti, the passageway wasn’t very long.
After about 300 ters, Tang Zheng managed to catch up to Li Xinlan and the others while assisting Lin Weiguo.
Two hundred ters ahead, there was light visible.
“Another room?” Zhang Hao was scared, “Who knows what kind of challenge awaits us?”
“We’ll know once we take a look,” Bai Guo said without a hint of hesitation as she dashed in first.
“Safe.”
This was a room the size of a basketball court, with a red magic array painted on the ground.
The surrounding walls were still made of stone, but the ceiling was hung with wall lamps, illuminating the room.
On the west side, there was a high platform with a table atop which a candle was placed.
“Why is there no exit again?” Zhang Hao scratched his head in distress, then let out a sigh of relief.
There were now twenty-nine survivors gathered here, so at least there wouldn’t be a lack of sacrifices.
“Will Alice catch up?” Yue Tong’s statent sent waves of panic through the already nervous students.
Her clothes were disheveled, and her face bore traces of the crows’ scratches.
Her eyes were also dull without any light, obviously tornted by continuous shock.
Just as Tang Zheng resolved not to sit and wait for death, about thirty ters away on the opposite side of the room, a stone door suddenly cracked open in the wall, and the sound of screaming and running echoed in.
