Capítulo 1803: Chapter 118 Starship Do or Die
The location of the Teleportation Gate was situated on a massive Garbage Mountain, absolutely over three hundred ters above the ground.
Bai Guo misplaced her step and almost fell, but fortunately, Xu Biyun acted swiftly and grabbed her; otherwise, she would have definitely rolled down.
Discarded Electronic Equipnt, household waste, and animal skeletons were mixed together, exuding a stench of engine oil and foul odor, irritating the senses and making one nauseous.
“Is this the inside of the Starship?” Pang iqin held a Tactical Flashlight, scanning around, and looked at Mu Nianqi, “Hey, didn’t your Team participate in the Holy Land War before? Have you been here?”
“I only participated in the preliminary rounds, never entered the Holy Land.” Mu Nianqi surveyed the surroundings, “Give up, no information about the Holy Land has ever been leaked.”
With Tang Zheng’s vision, he could see a tal-made ceiling at an altitude of a thousand ters, with no lighting installed, so it was pitch black here.
Fortunately, no one in the Warhamr Team was Ordinary people, and with the help of faint light, they could still take in the scenery around them without impacting their actions.
So rodents scampered carelessly through the Garbage heap, foraging for Food, probably because they have always lived in Darkness, their eyes were green, glimring with fluorescence.
These little creatures were not afraid of Humans, began to approach, and launched an attack. With their squeaking sounds, more of their kind gathered.
“Let’s get out of here quickly.” Pang iqin fired a Light beam, creating a Passage, the blood and Broken Flesh vaporized, leaving nothing behind.
Xu Biyun’s attack wasn’t as clean, scattering broken corpses all over, making the Garbage tumble and stir up dust.
Entering an unknown area, one should first establish a base and assess the situation before taking action. However, with the commotion of the two won, it might attract the enemy.
“Let’s go!” Dantai abandoned the idea of holding their ground and allowing the Team to rest, leading the jump down first.
In the earlier Combat, the Special Agent hadn’t contributed, leaving him quite frustrated, so he took the opportunity to warm up in a place like this.
It must be said, Dantai, as a scout, was incredibly effective, clearing all the minor Soldiers and also choosing the safest route, speeding up the Team’s advance.
“The Wristwatch is functional.” Gu Xueqi tested it and indeed summoned the Cars, but in such a complex terrain, the Vehicles were useless.
“Wait a mont, I have it!” Tang Zheng had captured many Wristwatches, so people had bought Hover Cars, now convenient for him.
“Take a break, Xueqi, Song Xin, treat him.” Dantai instructed and radiated his psychic field, searching for intelligent life forms.
The two girls had long started, and Song Xin was even shedding tears continuously.
Because of this scene, Qin Yan didn’t step forward to comfort Tang Zheng.
Without any hints or a map, the Warhamr Team could only move blindly. Dantai, not wanting to waste energy, was ready to find a safe base when he suddenly noticed psychic feedback.
“Mu Nianqi, Qin Yan, co with !”
To avoid alerting the enemy, Dantai left the Vehicle and proceeded on foot.
The three moved quickly, each stride taking them more than ten ters, swiftly closing in on the target.
They were two children with human appearances, wearing tattered clothes and covered in stains, rummaging through a pile of fresh garbage.
The girl had blue hair, though dirty, she picked up a lunchbox from the Garbage pile, cheered in delight, and opened it to lick the leftover Soup.
The boy also shouted because he found a bone with so at left on it, he took a small bite and then stored it in an iron can he carried while scolding the girl.
Though they didn’t understand each other’s language, it didn’t prevent Dantai from understanding; the boy probably thought the girl’s voice might attract sothing dangerous.
The little girl giggled, picking up a drink can, lifted her head, and poured it into her mouth, but only a few drops trickled out; she stuck out her tongue and licked, unsatisfied.
“Let’s take action!” Dantai made a few hand gestures, pounced with Mu Nianqi, while Qin Yan teleported to block the prey’s path from the farthest end.
The sudden arrival of strangers frightened the two little ones. The boy shouted for the girl to leave and pulled out a sharp tal pipe, glaring fiercely at Tang Zheng, roaring in an attempt to scare him off.
Dantai acted cautiously but soon realized he underestimated these children. Their psychic waves emitted in anger were like a Tsunami; if it were Ordinary people from Earth, they would be knocked unconscious, and the power was imnse, at least five tis that of an adult.
Facing children, Qin Yan didn’t want to hit hard. As a result, her hand chop didn’t take down the girl but instead gave a chance for the opponent to counterattack.
The girl, like a cornered young beast, suddenly drew a hidden Dagger and stabbed at Qin Yan. The mature lady dodged, but unexpectedly the Dagger emitted plasma, clearly an altered taser.
“Don’t hold back.” Mu Nianqi was much more ruthless, punching the boy below his left ear. Since they needed to interrogate, Queen Mu didn’t knock them out.
The boy’s head was dizzy from the shock, neural signals blocked and his limbs out of control, falling to the ground.
Qin Yan still didn’t use full force but instead snatched the girl’s dagger and twisted her arms behind her back, bringing her in front of Dantai.
After a few inquiries, Dantai confird the language barrier and, without ti for humanitarian gestures with captives, used the Qiankun Universe Edge’s amplification to invade their brains and read mories.
The other party were just children, knowing too little, with mories almost entirely about hunger, death, and ragged life.
“Let’s go, to the slums.” Dantai found the place the two children ca from, sighed, and placed a pile of food beside them.
The girl timidly looked at Dantai, not knowing what those things were, but when she slled the scent wafting from the opened canned beef, her face showed surprise.
“Leave everything, anyway it’s no use to us.” Qin Yan left all the food behind.
Despite having never seen these items, the two didn’t need guidance to discern what they are, having survived in such an environnt taught them on their own.
After spending half a day, the Warhamr team arrived at the edge of the slums gathered around the Garbage Mountain, and after a half-hour of lurking, Dantai successfully captured a captive.
“This is a starship, with unknown route and destination, they were born on it.” Dantai reported the obtained intelligence.
“Is there a hierarchy here? Life standard shoddy?” Gu Xueqi was concerned about this, due to material scarcity often leading to bold folk customs and rampant killings.
“Which world doesn’t have hierarchy? But the life standard should not be low; these people stay in the slums because they committed cris and were exiled.” Dantai sighed, “Those children are descendants of criminals; this society seems to use credit as currency, and once a family mber errs, those children also get implicated.”
“Never mind these, where are we headed?” Pang iqin had no interest in exploring social structures, “That damn Trojan hasn’t given any mission.”
“Everyone has established electronic archives, and countless electronic policen and chanical constables roam the city; we are now black-listed, making movent difficult.” Dantai gestured with his hands, “I hope this world’s computer level isn’t too high, otherwise if we can’t invade the managent system, we’ll be miserable.”
The best thod remains finding the local snake and purchasing legal status, Dantai believed even in the sunniest places, there exist shadows, but everyone’s ti is too short to wait.
“Congratulations on arriving at the oasis starship, now legal identities are issued to you.”
The Trojan announcent suddenly rang, bringing good news; however, the Warhamr team didn’t rejoice, as it still ant trouble ahead.
Each person’s wristwatch popped up a virtual screen with a 3D projection of characters labeled with identification, earthly archives paled in comparison.
Genetic mapping, skeletal level, ntal level, intelligence developnt level, besides these, all significant actions undertaken are recorded.
Looking at this docuntation, Dantai admired it to the utmost yet felt irritated; it practically strips away a person’s privacy without cover.
“You all have half a month’s rest ti and a travel fund of one million Star Coins, please enjoy!”
“Note, as long as you reach the Star Gate by the end of the month, punishnt is avoided, wishing you a pleasant journey!”
After providing the route map, the Trojan disappeared.
“Tsk tsk, Trojan is so generous.” Having stolen mories, Dantai knew how precious one million Star Coins is, marking everyone already as middle class.
The entrance to the Garbage Mountain is a deep thousand-ter tal canyon with only a hundred-ter-long iron bridge connecting the opposite main city, all allocated with chanical soldiers and heavily ard fortresses; approaching rashly without docuntation would definitely result in being riddled with bullets.
After inspecting Tang Zheng and team’s electronic archives, the captain equipped with a smart brain granted them passage.
Worthy of the future city within the starship, the scene unfolding before them directly left the crowd dumbfounded.
The city is three-dinsional, even in mid-air, with dozens of highways running various vehicles, orderly without chaos.
Clothing, food, buildings, all in unseen styles, yet Trojan, from whatever mindset, did not grant language specialization to the crowd, still unable to understand native chatter.
“Stop gawking, let’s head to the Star Gate first!” Despite the dazzling array of goods being tempting, the crowd well-off in pockets, no one wanted to shop, rembering it’s still the Holy Land War, unsure of what challenges Trojan might impose.
Unfamiliar with terrain and defense forces, Dantai abandoned thoughts of car theft, traveling with the crowd on a subway-like vehicle.
Though the Warhamr team changed attire, their incongruous aura with the environnt nevertheless manifested, leading natives to instinctively avoid them.
Bai Guo leaned against the glass boat, appreciating the scenery, while Gu Xueqi continued treating Tang Zheng.
Dantai reclined on the seat, contemplating possible scenarios ahead, when the virtual screen in the carriage suddenly interrupted with a news report, startling the Warhamr team. (To be continued.
