Chapter 1670: Chapter 62 Climbing the Sky Ladder_3

“That old pervert really deserves a beating.” Yu Deye had just finished cursing when he saw the female knight who had been following behind Tao Ran walk over to Earl Qian Nian and pay respectful homage, nearly frightening him into wetting himself.

Hegeminte nodded toward Tang Zheng without saying a word, then ascended the Sky Ladder, with eight knights following.

“The seven Seeds have left, so it’s our turn now, right?”

Aside from a few psychologically twisted group leaders unafraid of death, most people were shirking and hesitating. If possible, they truly didn’t want to participate in the boss fight.

“It’s ti for us Red Horse Hoof mbers. I’m a Seed candidate, after all.” A group leader sporting a punk hairstyle aggressively swept his gaze across the crowd, swung his arms, and prepared to climb the Sky Ladder—only to be stopped by Trojan.

“Next up, Warhamr Team!”

All eyes suddenly fell on Tang Zheng.

Tang Zheng shrugged his shoulders and calmly stepped onto the Sky Ladder. Dantai quickly directed Lin Weiguo and Qin Yan to separate and position themselves within the team and at the rear, ensuring the team’s protection in case of a surprise attack.

The stone steps composing the Sky Ladder were only a ter wide. Fang Zhiwen took a few steps and looked up, imdiately feeling a bit dizzy. This was the sky; a single misstep would an certain death.

“Don’t worry, you have Hellfire.” Li Xinlan comforted the white, rich, and beautiful woman.

The crowd initially wanted to mock her, but upon hearing those words, they were stumped.

“No way, even a newbie has the specialty equipnt from North Arica?”

Jealous, envious, and resentful gazes swept over her all at once.

“This is a ranking based on the team’s performance in the current ga. You have no right to refuse. Each team has ten seconds to climb the Sky Ladder. If you exceed the ti limit, you’ll face extermination as punishnt!” Trojan urged. “Next up, diterranean rmaid.”

Those standing at the mouth of the volcano were generally strong individuals, so for soone like Fang Zhiwen, she was the exception. Nevertheless, the ascent was relatively smooth—she had already ntally prepared herself after surviving nurous life-and-death challenges.

Looking down from high altitude, the spiral Sky Ladder resembled a giant coiled snake.

Conquerors had been climbing for two hours. Around them were white clouds resembling cotton candy within arm’s reach, but in this isolated, desolate place, there was no one to appreciate the view.

“Xinlan, I’m scared!” Fang Zhiwen clung to the arm of the older woman, her legs starting to tremble. She told herself not to look down, but in order to see the steps clearly, her peripheral vision always caught glimpses of the ground below, now so tiny it had beco a blur.

“Don’t be afraid; try not to think about things like height.” Li Xinlan didn’t have a better solution either.

Aside from the white, rich, and beautiful woman, a few others also had pale faces.

Now several tens of thousands of ters above the ground, the narrow stone steps brimd with the danger of slipping. Fierce, turbulent winds lashed their clothing incessantly, inducing a stifling sensation that required deep breaths to alleviate.

“Xinlan, I’m dizzy!” Fang Zhiwen showed signs of altitude sickness. If not for her strengthened body, she would have fainted already.

“I’ll carry her!” After injecting Fang Zhiwen with a dose of Nanoinjection Liquid, Lin Weiguo was ready to carry her, but then the unexpected occurred.

Rumble! Rumble! The Sky Ladder suddenly quaked, leaving the Conquerors stunned and frightened. Instinctively, they lowered their bodies and gripped the steps tightly.

“Ah! Help!” Several won lost their balance and plumted, including Fang Zhiwen—Lin Weiguo missed catching her by a fraction.

“Watch out!”

“Activate your flight equipnt quickly!”

“Go save them!”

The Conquerors cried out in panic, while those unfortunate won scrambled to save themselves frantically but ultimately failed to ascend, plumting straight down.

“No way; spatial props have been restricted—we can’t access any equipnt.”

“Even the Power Armor is disabled.”

When they heard these desperate cries, everyone’s faces turned pale. Realizing that even their supposed trump cards—those tools they had relied on for survival—were now useless, it struck fear into the hearts of all.

Even teammates refused to jump in for a rescue.

Swoosh! A figure leapt from the ladder, catching everyone’s attention. It was Tang Zheng. This wasn’t an accidental fall—he was diving to make a rescue.

Tang Zheng activated antigravity, his body transforming into what seed like a heavy cannon as he shot downward. After adjusting his direction several tis, he caught up with Fang Zhiwen.

“Tang Zheng, save !” The white, rich, and beautiful woman cried tears of joy as she saw Tang Zheng leap down to save her, convinced she was facing certain death.

“Don’t be afraid!” After catching Fang Zhiwen, Tang Zheng hovered mid-air and then flew back toward the Sky Ladder, landing steadily.

“See that? Our group leader can fly!” Lu Fan clapped his hands, brimming with smugness.

The crowd didn’t pay much attention to the teasing—they turned their eyes to the other group leaders whose team mbers had fallen. The ssage was clear: Why didn’t you go rescue them? Compared to Tang Zheng, you all fell so short.

“What are you staring at? It’s not like we can fly,” the group leaders muttered, feeling aggrieved.

“No wonder Warhamr has so many mbers. With a kind-hearted group leader like that, as long as you’re not too dumb, you’ve got a good chance of surviving.”

So Conquerors murmured among themselves. However, most people remained uneasy, their fear palpable.

Now, so individuals looked at the tens-of-thousands-of-ters height and couldn’t keep their composure. Although the tremors had stopped, the pace of ascent slowed considerably. Certain won even refused to move at all, blocking others behind them, leading to an outburst of curses.

At this point, they had reached the location of the Dark Mandala Array constructed by the Buddha Mother. Even the greatly skilled Wooden Horses found their abilities constrained to the limit here, making it normal for their equipnt to be restricted.

“Don’t worry, I can hover in mid-air. No matter who falls, I’ll rescue them in ti.” Tang Zheng’s voice echoed through the clouds, reaching Pang iqin’s group.

“Damn it, being able to fly is so smug!” Others grumbled. But they had to admit, this reassurance was incredibly comforting.

The tremors grew more frequent, but the seasoned Conquerors managed to avoid any further casualties. Half an hour later, however, new trouble erged.

Winged Yaksha creatures with black feathers descended from the sky, wielding tridents, and launched an assault on the Conquerors.

“Damn it! Misfortune really cos in waves!” Zhao, the group leader, fud as he urged his team to hurry.

This terrain was extrely disadvantageous for combat. The Conquerors knew prolonged engagent would bring dire consequences, so they unleashed full firepower on the flying Yaksha group.
