Chapter 1562: Chapter 24 To Survive!
The fur of the saber-toothed tiger is yellow, blending perfectly with the surrounding grasslands, making them the most outstanding hunters, waiting for the mont to deliver a fatal blow.
This group of cows was the target of the saber-toothed tigers, but because the survivors were too close, they ended up being attacked instead.
The fat woman’s screams pierced through the sky, almost scattering the clouds, as the won beside her turned and ran as if facing the apocalypse.
The saber-toothed tiger bit through the fat woman’s arm and took another bite at her throat before quickly dropping her and lunging at Bai Xia.
“Don’t run, fire!” Zhang Xinzhong bellowed, reminding his companions as he emptied the entire clip at the charging saber-toothed tiger.
The recoil lifted the muzzle, but since it was so close, several shots hit the body of the saber-toothed tiger, yet failed to kill it.
Zhang Xinzhong turned to run but only made it two steps before the saber-toothed tiger pounced on him, imdiately followed by the sharp pain of teeth tearing into his shoulder.
“Kill those tigers!” Tang Zheng had no ranged weapons and could only watch in frustration as the rifles passed into the hands of the newbies, rendered incapable of firing.
Seven female musketeers appeared around Tang Zheng, firing continuously as they ran, sending lead balls into the skulls of the ferocious beasts, flipping open their skullcaps.
A tiger suddenly sprung out in the line of advance of the gunn, Sophie dodged and pulled out the rapier from her waist, stabbing it into its body.
Warm blood spurted out, leaving mottled bright red stains on the green grass.
In less than five seconds, the gunn had cleared out nine saber-toothed tigers, but three people were still severely wounded by bites. The fat woman lay with her eyes wide open, staring at the sky, twitching a few tis before dying without leaving any last words. Zhang Xinzhong’s back was a bloody ss, and he still had the strength to scream in agony. As for another, his belly was ripped open, obviously beyond saving.
“Save, save !” Zhang Xinzhong grabbed at the weeds, begging for help with all his might, full of regret. If he had just run away imdiately, he would surely not have died.
Sun Guofeng was greatly relieved, knowing that if it weren’t for the tily support of the gunn, he would surely have been dead.
“No saving him!” After glancing at Zhang Xinzhong’s injuries, Tang Zheng squatted beside the saber-toothed tiger’s corpse, pulled out a straight knife, and began to gut it.
“Who’s thirsty? Co drink so blood!” Seeing no one respond, Tang Zheng didn’t force it, but he called Xie Yundan over, “Hurry up, it’s going to run out.”
Bai Guo didn’t need Tang Zheng’s instructions to start cutting at for storage, eyeing the fresh heart, she sliced off a strip and chewed on it.
The thick sll of blood filled her nostrils, making Xie Yundan want to vomit.
“Lick quickly!” Tang Zheng had no ti to wait, he pushed her head down onto the tiger at, and with a stab of his knife, blood flowed out.
Xie Yundan cried.
“Forget it!” Tang Zheng released his grip and sighed imperceptibly. She was a classmate, and he originally planned to lend a hand, but the result was too disappointing.
“Tang Zheng, may I borrow your knife?” Fang Zhiwen struck up a conversation, wanting to show her value. Tang Zheng’s concern for Xie Yundan made her jealous, but the latter’s poor performance made her feel at ease.
“The knife is sharp, don’t hurt yourself!” Tang Zheng handed out the knife, Fang Zhiwen’s quick composure indeed earned his respect.
Seizing the opportunity to receive the knife, Fang Zhiwen pretended not to care as she touched Tang Zheng’s fingers.
“The opportunity was given to you, if you can’t seize it, you can’t bla others!” Fang Zhiwen believed that Xie Yundan’s current state was enough for Tang Zheng to give up on her, among this group of people, it was she who had the closest relationship with Tang Zheng, and she must remove Xie Yundan to have a chance to rise in rank.
Resources were limited, and Fang Zhiwen knew it better than anyone; only those at the core and close to them could share more, after all, there is no absolute fairness in this world.
“Why didn’t you use these gunn for hunting earlier, that way we wouldn’t have had to die!” Shen Zhang, who was on good terms with Zhang Xinzhong, muttered as he looked at his dead state.
Marilyn, wearing thigh-high boots, stepped over the weeds and ca up to him, beating him fiercely.
“Tang Zheng’s intention was to train us, who knew that a few tigers would jump out? Besides, if it wasn’t for his quick action, we would probably all be dead by now.” Eyeshadow girl Little Willow took sides. Although she had a good relationship with Shen Zhang, the situation was different now. Tang Zheng was the group leader, and following him was the only way to survive.
The alumni were still too embarrassed to speak up.
“To remind you of your place, I’ve decided to leave you a nto!” Marilyn pulled out a dagger and pressed it against Shen Zhang’s face to carve words.
“Enough, let’s go back!” Tang Zheng coldly swept over these newbies, “I don’t want to hear any more dissenting voices. If soone is dissatisfied, then get out of the team.”
No one spoke. Shen Jiashu wryly smiled inside, it seed his fate as cannon fodder was inescapable.
“Go, clear out a space!” Seeing the newbies fatigued to the brink of exhaustion, Tang Zheng gave up on traveling further, “You few, go into the woods over there and collect so branches to bring back.”
Tang Zheng took off the magnesium rod used as a keychain tied to the handle of the folding knife, scraped off so magnesium powder, then struck the rod with the blade, sparking the campfire amidst flying sparks.
Half an hour later, the tiger at was cooked. The scalding fat dripped onto the flas, crackling noise incessantly. However, without Tang Zheng’s word, no one dared to reach out.
“Eat as much as you can, the next al will probably be very late.” As soon as Tang Zheng spoke, the newbies, already hungry enough to be backed into a corner, couldn’t care less about the heat and clumsily grabbed the at that had already been cut into small pieces with sticks.
“Brother Tang, here!” Bai Guo, sitting beside Tang Zheng, sliced the tiger at into strips, skewered it on the blade, and held it towards his mouth.
“I’m not a child, am I?” Tang Zheng turned his head.
Bai Guo blushed and lowered her head to eat the at.
“Tang Zheng, here’s a piece for you. It’s not burnt.” Fang Zhiwen sat down gracefully next to Tang Zheng, ignoring those peculiar glances thrown at her.
After filling their stomachs, the newbies regained their strength, and it seed that Lady Luck was also lifting her skirt for them as by evening, the team finally erged from the grasslands and entered a gravelly area.
By moonlight, Tang Zheng surveyed the unfamiliar surroundings; the ground was covered in weeds, though there were more stones and sand dust. Huge weathered boulders were piled up as if they could tumble down at any mont.
Constantly, stones rolled down, making a crisp sound that also seed to smash on everyone’s hearts, with so nocturnal wild animals moving brazenly around the Stone Forest area, their pairs of green eyes visible.
If the female musketeer hadn’t been usable, the team would have had to continue losing mbers.
“Let’s camp here tonight!”
In a relatively open area they chose for their camp, Tang Zheng told everyone to collect firewood. But no one moved.
“If you don’t do it, then I’ll leave on my own.” Tang Zheng frowned.
“No, we’ll go, but can we have the female musketeer to protect us? There are wild animals everywhere; it’s too dangerous.” Shen Jiashu, seeing no one responding, reluctantly stood up with a grim face.
“What are the guns in your hands? Fire sticks? Forget it, you’re on your own!” Tang Zheng made to leave when Little Willow suddenly rushed out and clung to him.
“Don’t leave us behind, we’ll follow your orders.” Little Willow clung tightly, her ample bosom pressing against Tang Zheng’s body.
Fang Zhiwen held back her step and cursed silently, “Sly vixen.”
“What are you dawdling for? Go collect the firewood!” Shen Jiashu roared.
“Keep it down, do you want to attract wild animals?” Fang Zhiwen glared at him and went to pick up firewood.
“Since when did Zhiwen beco so bold?” Gao Shuang wondered.
“I don’t know.” Shen Jiashu actually understood Fang Zhiwen’s intentions; there was firewood nearby, but if they collected it too late, they would have to go farther away, which would be more dangerous.
They managed without mishaps, and after half an hour of hassle, the campfire was lit. Everyone ward themselves by the fire, staring into space, and so, too exhausted, lay on the hard ground and fell asleep.
“You go rest, conserve your energy.” Bai Guo was about to keep watch, but Tang Zheng stopped her.
“You wasted a lot of life energy during the day; better you rest.” Bai Guo refused, not wanting her brother-in-law to wear himself out.
“Can you compare with ? Stop the nonsense; go rest!” Tang Zheng smiled and flicked Bai Guo’s forehead, “When you sleep, rember to clear the ground to avoid bug bites.”
“Don’t hit my head; it’ll make stupid,” Bai Guo pouted, covering her head and shooting Tang Zheng a reproachful look.
Her natural stupidity combined with that expression was quite impactful, but Tang Zheng had no such thoughts and simply treated her like a sister.
“Okay, I’ll take the second half of the night.” Bai Guo hugged her knees and sat by the campfire, forcing herself to sleep.
Every hour, Tang Zheng would patrol the campsite and then settle on a large boulder on the leeward side, laying his arms beneath his head, enjoying the clarity of the night sky.
With Tang Zheng’s physical capabilities, he could go a week without sleep without any problems.
In the middle of the night, the sound of rustling footsteps arrived. Without looking, Tang Zheng knew it was Little Willow; he had morized the gait of these people long ago.
Little Willow stood beneath the rock, glanced timidly around, then deliberately lowered her suspender shirt and climbed up the rock.
“Brother Tang, I can’t sleep.” Little Willow, approaching the lying figure, put on a fragile, coquettish tone.
“I’m not a psychologist!” Tang Zheng was cold, but that didn’t deter Little Willow.
“Are you bored? Let’s chat!” Little Willow sat next to Tang Zheng, snuggling up close.
Tang Zheng moved his arm away.
“Pretentious!” Little Willow cursed under her breath, disbelieving in a world where n didn’t like to sneak around. The occasional exception was either gay or impotent.
“Walking all day, my legs are scratched up and it hurts!” Little Willow let out a gasp of pain, caressing her calves to draw Tang Zheng’s attention.
The 22-year-old woman was dressed in a suspender shirt on top, and a short leather skirt on the bottom. Her legs were wrapped in black stockings, which after a day of walking through the brush, were now torn and tattered.
Seeing Tang Zheng unmoved, Little Willow decided to go all out. She stood up and then lifted her skirt up to her waist…
“Girls these days dress quite daringly!” Tang Zheng looked away, aware of what the woman intended.
