1455: Chapter 44 The Late Teleportation Gate 1455: Chapter 44 The Late Teleportation Gate Above the Square Garden, space soldiers faced the prelude to death.
They didn’t even have a chance to leave the landing pod before they were blasted to pieces inside it.
Clad in power armor, they didn’t die imdiately, but this only prolonged their agony.
“Charge!” The captain of the first squad knew that waiting any longer ant certain death, so he shouted into his communicator, directing his n to assault.
The surviving soldiers stepped over the corpses of their combat mates, only to be ravaged by lightning and magma.
Li Zheng’s light beams were exceptionally sharp, cutting through the power armor with ease and slicing flesh, with blood spurting from the openings.
Under Xu Biyun’s psychic ability, a landing ship directly compressed inwards, crushing the soldiers aboard into atloaf, then transford into a tal puppet and sprinted towards a nearby landing ship.
It heaved it up and smashed it fiercely down onto the space soldiers.
“Fu Tianxiao, Wang Fang, psychic attacks.” Dantai roared, as countless white Ghost Bombs shot out from between his brows, whizzing towards the space soldiers, passing directly through the armor and striking their brains.
Although the space soldiers had been modified, their resistance was ultimately limited.
With Wang Fang and Fu Tianxiao exerting their power together, their bodies beca noticeably stiff.
Ruan Feifei wasn’t going to pass up such a great opportunity to rack up kills.
With a lightning bombardnt, the whole view was instantly filled with a jungle of blue electric arcs, with death perating the air.
Bubbles ford in the hot lava that flowed along the ground at a depth of one ter, with extrely high temperatures also lting tal, making the steps of the space soldiers sluggish.
“We’ve been fooled!” Watching his soldiers being massacred, the colonel’s face darkened instantly, and then he exploded with rage.
Mass amount of spirit energy surged from his body like a storm, shattering the entire command center.
“Look out, the second wave of soldiers is coming.” Fu Tianxiao moved next to Tang Zheng, and the sight of his broad and sturdy back gave her a sense of security.
In the sky, hundreds more landing pods comnced an orbital drop, crashing towards the Square Garden like cots.
Their mission was originally to snipe Green Skins, but the commander hadn’t expected the first squad to be annihilated in a single encounter and had to use them as a last-minute rescue.
“Use the sa tactics as before.” Baldy was also keen on scoring kills; it was too easy to fight like this.
“Keep dreaming, they’re not idiots!” Lu Fan scorned.
Baldy was unconvinced, but then a thick beam of light pierced through the clouds, hitting the square.
An energy sphere with a radius of ten ters erged, sweeping up the broken ground and blasting outwards.
The Conquerors had to dodge, causing their battle formation to loosen up.
Sizzling sounds continued as light beams kept pounding down.
This was a warship in outer space performing an interference barrage, filling the square with an energy storm.
Communications in the combat suits were full of electromagnetic noise, causing everyone’s eardrums to thunder.
This ti the space soldiers had learned their lesson and did not cluster together, instead scattering around the square.
Even if the Conquerors wanted to roll them over in one wave, they couldn’t do it.
“These guys adapt so quickly.” Wang Fang was worried that her own team might face another crisis of total annihilation.
“What do we do?” Xiaobai was not good at thinking.
In critical situations, he instinctively relied on others.
“Run to the east side, buy ti.” Dantai shouted in the Warhamr team’s channel, and everyone imdiately took off running as if they had an epiphany.
“You guys?” Wang Fang was astonished but then understood and began shouting for her group mbers to retreat quickly.
“Are you guys that selfish?” Baldy was about to complain when Dantai’s voice ca over the public channel.
“Run, I’ve prepared them a big surprise.” Dantai’s voice was calm and collected, making others couldn’t help but admire that the Warhamr team had an excellent deputy group leader.
In fact, everyone understood that the Warhamr team mbers couldn’t possibly all have thought to run at the sa ti.
They must have been reminded, and though they were only a few seconds faster, it was enough for the Conquerors to get a lead of more than fifty ters.
In a battle, this was a trendous advantage.
With a little trick from Dantai, the other two groups of Conquerors fell behind, directly facing the space soldiers just walking out of the landing pods.
However, the situation quickly changed as the newbies, even in protective clothing and combat suits, had limited stamina and were soon overtaken by Li Zheng and his group.
“Wait for us!”
The newbies were in panic, so of the won even started crying, and the woman with eyelashes cursed in desperation.
There was nothing they could do; the space soldiers had already begun opening fire.
Dozens of explosive arrows ca flying, instantly focusing fire on an unlucky newbie.
“Why are you running that way?” A young man with ‘Dragon’ on his forehead and his friend had run the wrong way.
Seeing that the group was not there, he shouted in frustration, “Co over here quickly!”
The Dragon Youth didn’t want to change direction, as it would make him fall behind.
“Are you stupid?
Everyone’s running this way, can’t you see?” Kevo was close to the Dragon Youth and cursed at his silly behavior.
“Give us a reason, huh?” The man with the Dragon Youth, whose voice was effeminate but decisive, pulled his friend by the hand and dragged him back to the group.
The explosive arrows fired by the space soldiers that reached him were blocked by a round shield that popped up from his body; this was his ability.
“The reason is to muddle through!” Dantai casually explained, taking out a detonator, “Who wants to press it?”
Everyone didn’t understand what trick Dantai had up his sleeve and waited and watched.
“I’ll do it!” Kevo wasn’t afraid, took the detonator tossed by Dantai, and pressed it.
Boom, boom, a series of explosions suddenly erupted at the front of the Fortress, sending up huge fireballs and clouds of smoke.
The power of the explosions was so great that the Conquerors could all feel the shock wave.
A deluge of sand and rocks, like hail, ca raining down.
“What did you do?
Is that going to stop the Beastn?” The young man with the dragon tattoo was puzzled.
“Hmph, he’s blown up a section of the Fortress’s defenses and walls, giving the Beastn a gap to attack through!” Kevo, true to his role as a strategist, was quick to respond, “Judging by the distance, in less than two minutes, the Beastn can charge in and fill up most of the Fortress.”
“Aweso, the Green Skins are definitely going to clash with the Star Soldiers.
When they do, everyone can take the opportunity to hide in the chaos,” Fu Tianxiao praised.
“Don’t celebrate too soon.
What if the Green Skins attack us the sa way Demons and Humans do?” Xiaobai couldn’t stand Fu Tianxiao’s attitude and was growing increasingly annoyed with her.
“Didn’t you see the Star Soldiers in the back battling the Demons to the death?
The Green Skins will attack us anyway, as long as they don’t join forces, there shouldn’t be a problem.” Lu Fan accelerated his pace, smashed through the wall, and burst into the storage room.
With a leap, he jumped onto a vehicle, grabbed the Vehicle-mounted Machine Guns, and opened fire on the Soldiers that were chasing them.
“Get in the car.” Dantai was running towards the garage, prepared with vehicles.
He had already anticipated various ergency asures.
The distance was only a bit over three hundred ters, and the Newbies didn’t fall behind.
Only a few unlucky ones were killed on the spot.
After boarding the vehicle, the survivors escaped.
Xiaobai didn’t ask; he knew that Dantai must have prepared everything.
Saying too much would only make him seem ignorant.
“Use your Abilities to disperse those pursuers!” As the battle ensued, Tang Zheng’s authority deepened, and the Conquerors executed his orders without deceit or trickery.
Lightning, light beams, magma…
A chaotic mix of powers struck out like a storm, instantly slowing down the pursuers.
Green-skinned Beastn charged into the Fortress, and just as Dantai had predicted, they attacked indiscriminately.
These creatures could not withstand the impact of the survivors, who used them as cover and successfully escaped into a departnt store.
On the stairs of the third floor, a Newbie lost footing and fell down, but fortunately was wearing a Combat Suit and wasn’t hurt.
“That’s enough; let’s rest a mont!” Dantai stopped and took out a square chanical device.
Upon opening it, a Virtual Screen popped up, displaying the scene outside.
On their escape route, Dantai had been dropping Shen Qingshuang’s Monitoring Equipnt at intervals.
“Temporarily safe.” Shen Qingshuang took a quick glance and sat down on the floor to recuperate.
“Safe my foot.
Even those small cities back ho have surveillance systems all over the streets.
Let alone a future-world Fortress like this one.
I bet it won’t be ten minutes before the Star Soldiers co for us.” As soone often up to no good, Baldy was particularly sensitive to things like Monitors, and he’d already spotted seven of them.
“It depends on what the Colonel decides, whether to kill us or organize the main forces to resist the Beastn and protect the Citizens.” With an indifferent expression, Dantai had obviously considered what Baldy had thought of.
Ti ticked by, leaving the survivors anxious and eagerly awaiting the opening of the Teleportation Gate.
In the corner, the Eyelash Woman was looking at the remaining sixteen Newbies with a fluctuating mix of indecision and shivering fear, nearly suffocating from the terrifying mortality rate.
Inside the Lobby, the air was eerily still, as if about to solidify.
Next to them, the shops still had goods that hadn’t been cleared away, but even though they could be taken for free, no one spared them a glance.
The gunshots outside were intense as the Human Soldiers fought desperately against the Green Skins.
The Colonel had no choice but to organize a counterattack against the almost tidal wave of Beastn that nearly filled the Fortress, without even the ti to search for survivors.
“There are only five minutes left!” Bai Guoqiang exhaled sharply.
The atmosphere didn’t relax but only grew tenser.
Apart from the few powerhouses like Tang Zheng and Qin Yan, even seasoned fighters like Xu Biyun and the female anchor were visibly unsettled.
And as for the Newbies, there was no need to ntion their state; their fists were clenched so tightly that it seed they could wring out water, all of them silently counting down in their minds.
Ten, nine, eight…
The Eyelash Woman couldn’t hold back anymore and read out loud, her gaze darting back and forth in search of the Teleportation Gate.
The ti on the Wristwatch was clearly displayed; midnight struck, and for a mont, the survivors’ taut hearts eased, a sensation of relief washing over them.
Gradually, however, the mood beca heavy again.
“Where is the Teleportation Gate?
Why can’t we see it?”
“Could the Silver Trojan have deceived us?
What if there’s no Teleportation Gate at all?”
The Eyelash Woman was the first to shout out, and the Newbies began to question noisily.
Having seen too much death, they had lost their calm and were on the verge of collapsing.
The Newbies couldn’t sit still any longer, and even so of the Conquerors stood up, looking around for the Teleportation Gate.
“Damn Silver Trojan, are you playing with us?”
Baldy and Bai Guoqiang beca unsettled, loudly venting their anger and feeling that the survivors had been tricked!
