1268: Chapter 22: The Mad Scientist 1268: Chapter 22: The Mad Scientist The bat monster was incredibly tenacious.

Despite being riddled with bullet holes, it struggled to fly away.

The swarm of little bats, dense and dark, whined as they converged like a cloud, obstructing the vision of the Warhamr team and preventing them from taking tily aim for additional shots.

“Scram!” Sun Jingshan waved his arm, trying to disperse them.

The bats’ claws were razor-sharp – a re scrape across the scalp would leave behind bloody trails.

Ruan Feifei raised her left hand, and electric arcs suddenly appeared at her fingertips, forming an electric net that spread out, extending over half the corridor.

The bats were fried by the high voltage electricity, tumbling down like shot airplanes.

Watching the blue electric current crackle overhead, with so even falling down, causing their skin to tingle and hair to stand on end, the newbies were tense, fearing they might get electrocuted to death.

With a series of booms, the corridor’s chanisms were triggered, revealing hidden secret rooms as the walls on both sides collapsed.

Massive chunks of flesh, each three ters high, lumbered out like moving mountains of at, assailing the Warhamr team with their pungent stench.

Qin Yan’s Doomsday Predator was ineffective; the bullets it fired sank into the monsters’ skin but failed to make even a splash.

Boom, Dantai’s Demon Slaying Holy Fla launched a projectile, creating fist-sized wounds on the flesh chunks.

However, the rotten at around the holes writhed and filled in instantly.

“What’s going on?

Frankenstein’s monsters?” Ruan Feifei waved her hand, sending forth an electric net that struck the man-made monsters.

What should have been powerful enough to turn any living being into charred remains was instead like a gentle caress of spring rain, failing to harm a single strand of their hair.

Rather, it seed to inject energy into them, causing them to beco more ferocious and their wounds to heal faster.

These scientific abominations were cobbled together by Frankenstein from various body parts, infused with souls, and then brought to life by electrical shocks during a tempestuous night, bestowing life upon them.

The electricity from the female anchor’s attack was as ineffective as throwing at buns to a dog; instead of harming them, it fueled their fires.

Frankenstein’s craftsmanship was rough, with a significant portion of these creatures lacking any human form – just clusters of writhing flesh.

So were crippled or had disproportionately large limbs.

As they crawled, they left behind pools of yellow pus, utterly repulsive.

Of course, there were also a dozen or so that had the appearance of humans, albeit covered with centipede-like, contorted needles and stitched together with visible seams.

There were even white maggots wriggling within.

Xu Biyun slapped the wall beside her and not far ahead, the brickwork rippled like waves, shedding dust.

A huge head erged from the wall, letting out a roar before swinging its arm at one of the scientific monsters, stepping forward and, with a squish, crushing the bat creatures on the ground.

The puppet burst out of the wall and, acting as a at shield, charged into the Frankenstein’s monsters, leaving behind a damaged wall in its wake.

Lu Fan’s wristwatch emitted sand that flowed across the ground like a tide, subrging the scientific monsters’ legs and gradually hardening to restrict their movent.

“We can’t kill them; their self-healing is too fast!” The newbies scread in panic, retreating continuously, having lost their composure.

Tao Ran’s Ti-space Blackfish appeared, swimming and biting into the bodies of the monsters, leaving behind nurous bite marks.

Up on the second floor, Dong Zixuan’s abilities were limited.

“Li Xinlan, freeze the entire corridor!” Tang Zheng fired his gun, a single bullet shooting out which then fanned out to fill the entire corridor, penetrating the bodies of the flesh chunks, creating an array of holes.

However, the creatures were unaffected, roaring as they charged.

“We’re blocked in the back,” said several newbies at the rear end of the group, unsettled as dozens of scientific monsters blocked their escape.

A large group of humanoid bat monsters took advantage of the chaos to surge out from the rooms, launching a desperate charge.

Pang iqin’s Ripper cleaved through them, slicing several corpses and spattering blood on the walls.

From Li Xinlan’s wristwatch flowed water, which froze everything around her.

Amid the cracking sounds, a white layer of ice spread, quickly thickening.

In less than ten seconds, the entire corridor was icebound, and the monsters froze into lumps, immobilized.

Qin Yan and Dantai opened fire, shattering the frozen sculptures, with clouds of ice and frost falling from the sky.

After the battle concluded, Tang Zheng took a head count.

Thanks to the Frankenstein’s monsters’ inability to get close, the Conquerors weren’t even scratched, but the bat creatures had killed nearly ten newbies.

“Move on!” Pang iqin, unconcerned about the small fry, urged the vanguard to hurry along.

Sun Jingshan, leaning on his knees, panted heavily, no longer the warrior he once was.

The other newbies averted their eyes, pretending not to hear, motionless.

It couldn’t be helped.

Anyone would behave the sa upon seeing their fellow alumni, once alive, now turned into corpses.

“The castle is too big.

Searching room by room is a waste of ti and invites frequent attacks.

We must find a way to draw out the BOSS,” Mu Nianqi said, standing in front of a door, inspecting its interior.

“Everything’s in such chaos, and we still haven’t seen the BOSS.

Whether it even exists is a question,” Teng Yuangxiang grumbled, her patience running thin at the sign of trouble.

“Let’s cause even more chaos, then.

Step back!” Tang Zheng took out the matriarch’s roar and set it to maximum power, aiming diagonally upwards before pulling the trigger.

An energy sphere condensed at the muzzle, then with a sizzle, it shot out, the thick beam of light blasting through the ceiling and piercing the Vault of Heaven.

Nurous pieces of debris fell.

The Conquerors activated their Defense Shields, while the newbies could only retreat with their heads covered.

“Don’t demolish the house,” Lin Fachan shouted, protecting his girlfriend underneath him.

“If the BOSS doesn’t show up with the dagger, are we supposed to search in the ruins?”

“It’s just firing a couple of shots to test, the castle won’t collapse,” Tang Zheng fired again.

The light beam, like a red-hot iron rod piercing through ice, broke through easily.

“Who dares to disturb the great Dr.

Frankenstein’s experint?” A hoarse roar of anger, like thunder, echoed in everyone’s ears.

The Combat Hamr team was ready for battle.

In less than a minute, a freak covered in needles and yellowish in complexion appeared in the corridor.

A giant screw protruded from its head, sparking intermittently, dressed in a black tailcoat and covered in a white lab coat splattered with bright red blood and various unknown fluids.

“So dirty!” Jing Lan covered her nose.

Frankenstein emitted a strong stench from his body; greenish stench could even be seen wafting from him continuously.

Growl, Frankenstein held a thick black iron chain in his hands, restraining a pet pieced together from various monster parts, with saliva dripping from the three-headed beast’s snarling mouths, front paws digging into the ground, body crouched, ready to attack at any mont.

“Kill!” Tang Zheng glanced over and raised his gun to fire.

The warrior charged towards Frankenstein with such sprinting force that each step cracked the floorboards.

Lightning, ice spikes, sand spears, all streaked out together, bombarding Frankenstein.

So attacks missed and hit the walls, smashing them, and the entire corridor began to collapse.

The semi-transparent Ghost Reaper wielded a sickle, barely visible, followed closely by the Ti-space Blackfish right behind the warrior, ready to ambush Frankenstein.

Dantai unleashed a ntal Impact, but unfortunately, it was ineffective against Frankenstein.

“Slaughter these intruders!” Frankenstein let go, and the Stitching Beast charged wildly, its neck chain clanging against the floor.

As both sides clashed, the warrior’s Warhamr spun like a windmill, striking right at the leaping Stitching Beast’s head.

Bang, the Stitching Beast crashed into the wall, plunging into a room, while the warrior, like entering a realm without opponents, advanced toward Frankenstein.

Gaining the upper hand upon first encounter, the morale of the Combat Hamr team surged, with various attacks raining down like a heavy storm.

Tang Zheng monitored his teammates out of the corner of his eye and noticed even those under suspicion were attacking the BOSS with full force, which made him furrow his brows.

What exactly was their goal?

“Damn you, you’ll pay for this, I’ll turn you into specins, stay in the vessels!” Frankenstein pulled aside his white lab coat and drew a handgun, emitting a green beam.

This was a steampunk-style weapon with no clip, composed of densely packed brass coils, a tal rod, topped with a sphere condensing light beams.

The warrior lifted the Warhamr like a door board to block the beam, but the beam, as if intelligent, curved just before hitting, dodged around the Warhamr, and struck the warrior’s head.

Thunk, as if ice and snow were lting, the warrior’s cheek was pierced, but as a spirit, he didn’t die.

Frankenstein fired a second shot, and the warrior was hit again but managed to get close, bringing down the Warhamr.

The Ti-space Blackfish also bit his wrist to stop him from firing.

The Ghost Reaper floated behind, swinging the sickle across Frankenstein’s neck.

Frankenstein sneered contemptuously, stomping and shattering the floorboard, dropping down just in the nick of ti, evading all attacks.

“Watch out for that Stitching Beast!” Sounds of collapsing walls constantly echoed from the castle, a result of the beast that had been flung earlier causing chaos.

Indeed, before Tang Zheng could finish speaking, the creature burst through a nearby wall and lunged out, swiping with its claws.

Dantai was struck, Gu Xueqi and Song Xin along with him were thrown to the side, others hurriedly dodged.

Its intrusion caused complete disarray in the Combat Hamr team’s formation.

Lin Weiguo, adorned in alloy armor, and working in tandem with Tang Zheng, had already moved to confront Frankenstein and couldn’t turn back to provide aid.

Pang iqin didn’t hold back this ti, stepping forward; the Ripper blocked the Stitching Beast’s attack, and then she slashed it across its back.

Flesh peeled, at splattered, covering nearby people with pus-filled fluid.

“Tao Ran, Jing Lan, conserve your strength.

Conquerors, go all out!” Black Long Straight and Jing Lan were fighting too hard.

Tang Zheng quickly admonished them.

As newcors, they should prioritize their own safety, and their efforts also temporarily earned the trust of the Group Leader.

“Tang Zheng, the terrain limits us, we can’t deploy our attack formation,” Zhao Dongtao called out.

The newbies were scrambling to retreat, while the Conquerors fought, hindered by the narrow space.

“Lure the Stitching Beast outside,” Tang Zheng shouted.

What happened to Dantai?

At tis like this, the deputy leader should be covering for what he couldn’t attend to, yet the Special Agent was too silent.
