1243: Chapter 107 General 1243: Chapter 107 General No ti to tend to the bodies of comrades, Tang Zheng picks up the Curl-tongue Captain’s Space Wristwatch, searches the body, and confirms there are no Seeds before he takes Eve to find those who abducted Simpson.
“Wait, let’s search the enemy’s corpses, they might have Seeds.” Rong He didn’t care about Liu Binshi and He Lian being killed, after all, as long as Eve and Simpson t, that should be considered mission accomplished.
“If they had any, they would’ve used them by now.
Besides, if the captain didn’t have any, could a newbie possibly have any?” Through the wristwatch, Tang Zheng had already clarified Curl-tongue’s identity, but seeing his fellow student was not giving up, he did not stop him either.
In the end, Rong He gained nothing, the only pleasure being that while searching the female special agent with a blown-up head, he groped her chest, and if not for Zhou ng also trying his luck picking up spoils of war, he might have even done sothing more overboard with the beautiful corpse.
“We can’t let the other side dictate terms, we need to change the negotiation site.” Dong Zixuan’s idea was quite good, but unfortunately, she was dealing with unreasonable terrorists, to no avail.
Gunshots first ca through the walkie-talkie, followed by a sinister warning.
“Negotiate again and I’ll blow their heads off.”
“Let’s go, worst cos to worst we take them out together, do you think Tao Ran’s power is fake?” Zhao Dongtao was very calm, having lived through slaughter, his ntal maturity had swiftly developed.
Unlike what was anticipated, no tension-filled standoff ensued upon seeing the appearances of those who captured Liu Binshi and the others, Tang Zheng let out a sigh of relief.
“Yuliya, it’s actually you guys?” Tang Zheng pressed on Eve’s shoulder, scanning the surroundings.
As expected, Lickers had already surrounded the area, watching Tang Zheng and his group predatorily like wild wolves eyeing their prey, no wonder even with Ada at her back, escape was impossible.
Yuliya and the short-haired man, both of whom had previous encounters with Tang Zheng in the underground laboratory, were present, yet the leader turned out to be a man in a jacket.
“Where’s Sheva?
Why don’t I see him?” Tang Zheng called Eve out, showing friendliness, no matter what, the mission had to be completed first, “What do you want her for?”
“That’s none of your business.” The man in the jacket coldly retorted and waved his hand, several subordinates imdiately pounced and grabbed Eve, dragging her next to Simpson, “Doctor, your request has been t, it’s ti for you to co with us, isn’t it?”
“Sheva had other assignnts, I didn’t expect to see you here.” The short-haired man was excited; he hadn’t forgotten this man with outstanding combat power, and he chattered about the recent events.
Ignoring the exchange between Simpson and the man in the jacket, Tang Zheng casually responded while receiving a notification from Trojan.
“Escort mission for Eve completed, final mission initiation: Protect Doctor Simpson!”
“What’s this supposed to an?” Zhao Dongtao was dumbfounded, the mission description was too vague, “Are we supposed to accompany Simpson for a lifeti?”
“Doctor Simpson, do you need a bodyguard?” Tang Zheng interjected, glancing at Ada—it seed she was acquainted with the doctor.
“Of course, these people have invited to be a guest in Eastern Europe, I need to find so dependable rcenaries.” Simpson was the picture of refinent, showing no hint of fear.
The man in the jacket initially wanted to decline, but after so persuasion from Yuliya, and the fact that they needed Simpson’s help to unlock the laboratory, he compromised, after all, to them he was a guest of honor, not a prisoner deprived of personal freedom.
Having reached an agreent, the team imdiately set into action, relying on their formidable firepower and the Lickers, they quickly broke through the zombie blockade, escaping Marseille, and boarded a train to the Eastern European city of Lviv.
Tang Zheng had just settled down in the sleeper compartnt, about to go inquire with Simpson about certain matters, when Liu Man squeezed in.
“You guys chat.” Zhao Dongtao pulled Liu Binshi to the side, giving Tang Zheng so private space; he could see this woman needed a favor and wouldn’t want to get in the way of his good friend’s business.
Liu Man closed the door, and before Tang Zheng could speak, she eagerly stripped off her clothes, sparing not even her underwear, and then threw herself onto him.
“Group Leader, I want you!” Liu Man’s hands reached for Tang Zheng’s belt, kissing him wildly.
“Get a grip!” Tang Zheng could feel the pressure of Liu Man’s chest on his back, but he had no desire, grabbing her hands firmly and pulling them away.
“I really like you, you know that.” Liu Man, like a neglected wife, spoke plaintively, even squeezing out so tears to elicit sympathy.
“Put on your clothes!” Liu Man stood stark naked beside him, causing Tang Zheng to frown.
Seeing she did not move but instead stuck out her chest, he snatched up a sheet and tossed it over her, “Go call the others, I need to allocate that Seed.”
Liu Man tried to speak but was cut off.
“If you don’t leave now, you’ll get nothing.” Tang Zheng’s voice was now tinged with cold detachnt.
Liu Man shuddered and did not dare delay any longer.
In less than three minutes, the newbies had all gathered in the cramped compartnt.
Tang Zheng took out the Seed, placed it on the table, and the newbies’ eyes were imdiately fixated on it, filled with desire.
Jing Lan knew she had no chance and was therefore the most relaxed.
“I’ve heard about the combat process from Dong Zixuan and Zhao Dongtao, I am now allocating the Black Iron Seed.
Rong He, Jing Lan, this belongs to the two of you, as to who should use it, you guys decide.” Both were his classmates, no matter who received it, it would leave Tang Zheng conflicted, knowing the drop rate of such items, chances to obtain more in the future were slim, and with a 12-hour activation period, this was likely the last opportunity; whoever didn’t get it might end up dead.
“This isn’t fair; why didn’t we get a share?” Zhou ng was the first to protest.
“Exactly, Zhou ng didn’t run away, and he fought too, right?
At the very least, shouldn’t there be a draw?” Su Su argued on behalf of her boyfriend, knowing it was unlikely for him to get a share, she proposed a draw in the hope of rallying the voices of all the newbies and then playing for those slim odds.
“You call that fighting?
He was just protecting you the whole ti, dodging attacks.
I barely saw him shoot a few bullets at the enemy.” Zhao Dongtao told the blunt truth.
Zhou ng had no sense of team combat, and he hadn’t even thought of killing the enemy.
He was entirely focused on protecting Su Su, even using his teammates as at shields.
“Stop talking!” Seeing Su Su about to continue, Zhou ng stopped her and turned to Dong Zixuan, hoping his colleague would support him, “What do you say?”
“Zixuan, you’re going to watch us die?” Su Su’s tone sharpened, “The current situation is clear.
Without an ability, we’re as fragile as paper in front of ability users, with no other fate but to be slaughtered.”
“Tang Zheng!” Ultimately, Dong Zixuan wanted to support her colleague.
Seeing him speak, Zhou ng and Su Su regained so hope.
He Lian had been watching coldly all along and had given up early on.
Liu Binshi knew he had no chance of contesting and sighed helplessly.
“You’re too selfish to be a team leader,” Nie Jianhua figured he was going to die anyway, so he didn’t care and wanted to break up the team, dragging more people down with him.
Liu Man’s face had long lost its color, her body couldn’t stop trembling, and her mind was in total disarray.
“Tao Ran and I fought desperately, right?
Can we use our contributions to qualify Rong He and Jing Lan for a share?” Zhao Dongtao bared his chest in the fight, arguing for his classmate’s interests.
Tang Zheng remained silent.
As the group leader, he couldn’t speak up.
“Rong He indeed fought, but as for the others, I didn’t see it.” Dong Zixuan’s sense of justice was overwhelming, always strictly adhering to the rules without any personal bias.
Hearing her words, Zhou ng and Su Su felt desperate.
Zhou ng took a deep breath, fortunately not foolish enough to blurt out anything about leaving the team; however, he couldn’t hide his anger and stord out, slamming the door.
The newbies turned to look at Rong He and Jing Lan with mocking expressions, eager to see their ugly scramble for the seed, but they were destined to be disappointed.
“Rong He, use it, it can help everyone,” Jing Lan said with a smile, very composed, “We’re classmates; even in death, we can’t let outsiders mock us.”
“Haha, Basket, what kind of person do you think I am, Rong He?
How could I fight with you over this?
You’ve been this way since junior high, and you haven’t changed,” Rong He said as the girl yielded, his male chauvinism naturally not allowing others to look down on him, “We agreed, you’ll treat to a al when we get back.”
Without giving Jing Lan a chance to refuse, Rong He stuffed the seed into her hands.
“Tang Zheng, my life is in your hands now; don’t forget to give a sip of the potion when it’s critical,” Rong He joked, forcing himself not to look at the seed, worried that he might regret his decision.
“Rong He, you don’t have to…” Before Jing Lan could finish, Rong He waved his hand and walked out of the carriage.
“Impressive, I’m convinced!” Nie Jianhua had nothing more to say, raised his thumb, and left.
The journey continued for over a day, and although it was tiring, there was no danger.
When everyone stepped onto the platform at Lviv, they all shivered; the city was already covered by winter snow, leaving the entire field of vision a blanket of white.
“There aren’t many passengers, huh?” Zhao Dongtao rubbed his hands, exhaling a breath of white air as he looked at the deserted station.
“This city has been overrun by zombies.
The citizens evacuated a few days ago!” Yuliya, pulling little Eve along, easily found the soldiers who ca to et the train, “This is now our frontline base.”
Without any rest, Doctor Simpson was invited onto the car, hurrying toward the laboratory.
“Please, this way!” A few soldiers ard with rifles stopped Tang Zheng’s group from following.
Without a word, Tang Zheng grabbed a rifle; his left fist swung out, knocking down a soldier.
The others quickly took aim, and a standoff ensued.
“They are my bodyguards; if they want to follow, let them co,” Simpson, who was pressed for ti, interrupted the conflict.
Twenty minutes later, the fleet arrived at a tall building.
In the lobby, Tang Zheng t the general and the hundreds of elite soldiers.
“Don’t waste any more ti; let’s hurry!” Simpson cut off the general’s words and headed straight for the elevator.
“Wait, these people can’t go in.” A Frenchman by the general’s side spoke, drawing his gun to point at Tang Zheng, “You are not welco here!”
“Oh, survivors, you’re pretty fast!” Tang Zheng had already noticed the seven people beside the general were slouching and lacked the deanor of soldiers; sure enough, as soon as he spoke carelessly, they tensed up— even one of the n’s right hands started to burn.
Zhao Dongtao also unleashed his ability, the air rippled, and overhead, a dozen gun barrels appeared, their dark muzzles creating a visually imposing display.(To be continued.
