1176: Chapter 55: Surprise Attack 1176: Chapter 55: Surprise Attack Wu Xiao was wary that Li Wenbo might make a move, but the distance was too close.
When the military boot swung at him, he didn’t react in ti and felt a sudden darkness before his head made intimate contact with the wall, slamming hard against it.
Agony spread across his face, and Wu Xiao’s head spun as he found himself sitting back down with a thud.
Bam, Li Wenbo didn’t stop; he delivered another harsh kick to Wu Xiao’s face, breaking his nose.
Blood gushed, spraying over his clothes, and he fell to the ground, spitting out several blood-stained teeth.
“Ah!” The nearby won, terrified by the bloody scene, scrambled frantically to move away and distance themselves from the area.
“Next ti, before you speak, rember to think with your brain.
Saying the wrong thing can kill you,” Li Wenbo leaned over, grabbed Wu Xiao by the hair, and lifted the nearly unconscious man against the wall, nacingly warning him with a ferocious face.
No one wanted to offend Li Wenbo on behalf of a stranger; everyone remained silent.
“A bunch of wimps, no wonder Li Wenbo dealt with you,” Tong Dahong said emotionlessly, sitting on the sofa, resting with his eyes closed.
“If there hadn’t been panic at the back of the line just now, the team wouldn’t have collapsed.
Although I hadn’t anticipated it beforehand, you all have hands and feet; can’t you even kill one zombie?” Li Wenbo reprimanded the newbies, shifting the bla entirely, “Don’t forget, if it weren’t for old Tong and covering our retreat, whether you could have escaped back here would still be in question, and you dare bla ?”
Li Wenbo, furious, lifted his knee and ramd it into Wu Xiao’s stomach, knocking him out completely.
“Brother Wenbo has done enough already; you can’t bla him,” Xiao Hu, trying to ingratiate himself, compensated for his earlier escape attempt.
“Think about it, you don’t contribute yet expect to survive, is that possible?” Li Wenbo dropped Wu Xiao, then viciously kicked the joint of his injured arm, completely breaking any possibility he had of holding a gun, and spit on his face.
“What about the two who got bitten?” Huang Shan pointed at the two panicked n, asking Li Wenbo.
“Need you even ask?
Go lock yourselves in the bedroom,” Li Wenbo moved to the other end of the sofa.
“Don’t make go, please, Rong Xuan, help beg for rcy, I don’t want to go,” Tang Zheng, one of those bitten, cried out, seeking help from Cao Rongxuan.
“Go to the bedroom, it’s for your own good,” Cao Rongxuan, uninterested in these trivial matters, believed that those who were bitten should just die and not burden others.
“Go yourself, don’t force to act,” Tong Dahong got up from the sofa, worried that if Li Wenbo turned into a zombie, he would be the first to be attacked.
The two unfortunate n couldn’t bear the pressure of impending death and didn’t want to die alone.
“No, I don’t want to beco a zombie, I don’t want to die,” the classmate went mad, suddenly lunging at a woman, pinning her down, and tearing at her clothes, hysterically shouting, “I’m still a virgin, I don’t want to die.”
“Get away!” the woman struggled.
The zombies outside were alerted and began to bang on the door.
Tong Dahong rushed over, swung the butt of his gun down on the young man’s head, knocking him out, then dragged him by one leg into the bedroom.
The other man, realizing his fate was sealed, entered the bedroom, and as the door closed, he saw the people outside staring at him as if he were a monster.
“Heh!” The man let out a bitter laugh, pulled out his handgun, and stuffed it into his mouth.
Bang, the sudden gunshot startled everyone, but Tong Dahong didn’t care, grabbing a table to block the bedroom door.
Li Wenbo was also tense, carefully sensing changes in his body, and surreptitiously scanning everyone, plotting how he could drag them down with him if he got unlucky.
…
Sitting in the commuting car, Tang Zheng had already anticipated that the hotel might beco chaotic, feeling inexplicably anxious.
He wanted his classmates to leave early to ensure safety, yet he hoped they would trust him and stay.
“How will you leave after you go up?” Yuliya, being a terrorist, had sneaked in, so she must forcefully make her exit when leaving.
“You must have arrived in an armored car, right?” Tang Zheng looked at Leon, assuming the police would have a reliable vehicle.
“Hmm, there’s also a police helicopter,” Leon shrugged.
“Even if we find it, we won’t know how to operate it,” the man with short hair spread his hands, helpless.
“The helicopter is convenient, but it guzzles fuel and is a big target; it’s likely to get shot down, whereas supplying an armored car is much easier,” Tang Zheng preferred the armored car, “Take us with you.”
“You know how to pilot a helicopter?
Aren’t you a civilian?” Yuliya was intrigued by Tang Zheng’s background.
“A hobby,” Tang Zheng replied as the commuting car reached the ground, and Leon and Yuliya imdiately crouched down to look outside.
Susan mimicked everyone’s movents but before she crouched down, she saw Tang Zheng and Leon stand up again, jump out the window, and run towards a row of seats.
This was a circular lobby, part of the underground laboratory’s station, used to enter and exit through, with ten elevators nearby, though they had already stopped working.
Zombies littered the ground, a result of people who had left earlier.
If given a choice, Tang Zheng would have preferred to do it himself because it also ant that the nearby vehicles had all been taken.
Tang Zheng leapt out from behind the seats and dashed towards a pillar.
After taking cover, he looked out towards the factory area.
Several large buildings were on fire, emitting billowing black smoke and wails of alarms resounded, sadly ignored by now.
Just as Tang Zheng was about to rush out, he heard a gunshot, the bullet landing close to Leon.
The seats made of engineering plastic couldn’t stop a 7.62 caliber bullet.
Leon sprang out and sprinted towards the commuting car.
The enemy hidden in the shadows opened fire, bullets chasing him and pitting the ground.
Following the sound of gunfire, Tang Zheng was about to provide covering fire for Leon, when suddenly he heard rustling sounds from behind.
He quickly dodged to the side and turned back, seeing five Lickers speedily crawling across the ceiling towards him.
Whew, the frontmost one swooped down on Tang Zheng with a whooshing sound.
Tang Zheng forcefully pivoted his feet, dodging in a broken line and firing his handgun in rapid single shots.
The bullets whizzed into the body of the Licker, the fifth one penetrating its head.
Thud, the Licker fell down, twitching a few tis before dying, but the others closed in, falling like hailstones in a swarm.
“Yuliya, they are your accomplices,” Tang Zheng yelled, recognizing that since soone was shooting at Leon, and it wasn’t a sniper rifle, the enemy must be nearby.
However, there were Lickers here, who would have definitely noticed that human – thus proving these monsters were the enemy’s pets.
If Tang Zheng hadn’t t Yuliya before, he absolutely wouldn’t have made such an assumption, though it could be other forces as well.
The Lickers were even more frenzied than rabid hunting dogs.
With long tongues lashing, they chased after Tang Zheng, rapidly closing the distance to three ters.
Humans absolutely couldn’t outrun them.
Tang Zheng switched direction once more, evading the Licker’s attack.
As it rushed past him, he raised his gun and opened fire.
Bullets blossod into tiny specks of blood from its chest to its head and then with a bang, its head exploded.
The third one pounced.
Hearing the whooshing sound, Tang Zheng knew that changing direction wouldn’t work; he couldn’t avoid the fourth one as they were side by side, able to instantly fill the gap.
So he stepped to the side, then turned around, prepared to face the Licker head-on.
“Has Tang Zheng gone mad?” Susan, hidden in the commuting car, yelled worriedly.
Yuliya, hiding behind a car window, shot at the Lickers, covering Tang Zheng.
Impressed by his response, she admired him greatly.
Having owned dozens of Licker pets, she was very familiar with their attack patterns and physiological structure, knowing Tang Zheng’s thod was indeed the correct one.
Facing three fast, sneak-attack proficient Lickers, a human couldn’t escape, especially if they exposed their back, which would only lead to a quicker death.
However, there are few humans brave enough to confront monsters head-on; the force of their charge would surely suffocate the faint-hearted.
This was dancing with death!
After turning around, the Licker had already leapt toward him from the left front, extending its claw towards his head.
Bang, bang, Tang Zheng leaned back as far as he could to dodge the claw strike, his arms swiftly moving to aim at its head while his fingers pulled the trigger.
The sound of gunfire was intense; three triple-tap bursts finally blew the Licker’s head off.
A strong scent of blood filled his nostrils as copious amounts splattered.
The fourth one pressed on without giving Tang Zheng a chance to breathe, killing as it advanced.
Tang Zheng lost his balance and fell to the ground, watching as the Licker approached at close range, he moved the gun muzzle to his chest and emptied the bullets.
The bullets caused the Licker’s body to burst open, flesh flying, and the final shot blew up its head, splashing brain pulp across Tang Zheng’s face.
Tang Zheng hit the ground, the Licker’s Corpse falling onto him, knocking his assault rifle askew – but this was all part of his plan.
The last one leapt forward, Tang Zheng curled up, using the fourth corpse as a at shield, not forgetting that the monster’s tongue could strike.
Indeed, the Licker’s tongue pierced the at shield’s chest.
Tang Zheng, like an ard crossbow, suddenly exerted force to throw them off his body, then pulled out his Beretta M92F and fired rapidly at the Licker.
In the rapid gunfire, the Licker, just as it was rising, was hit by five shots, its head shattered, and the body collapsed.
“Yuliya, tell your companions to stop,” Tang Zheng gasped, yelling again – that woman naively maintained a pretty face; she was too foolish.
“What do you an?” Yuliya was displeased.
She had heard that sentence before but had been too busy trying to help Tang Zheng against the Lickers to think much of it, assuming it was so bluffing tactic.
“That’s so cool.” The short-haired man, impressed by how Tang Zheng had slaughtered five Lickers in under ten seconds, was nearly blown away.
In all these years, he had never seen such a formidable person.
Even the strongest in their organization couldn’t match this feat; as for Tang Zheng’s words, he hadn’t bothered to think about them.
