1156: Chapter 37 Newbie Death 1156: Chapter 37 Newbie Death Tang Zheng retraced his steps and ran through the dimly lit breeding area corridor.

The stench of manure was joined by the increasingly thick sll of blood, assaulting his nostrils and almost making him sneeze uncontrollably.

The zombies’ howling had died down completely, causing Tang Zheng to frown.

Clearly, the weapons and capabilities of the newbie from India couldn’t kill a horde of zombies, which ant there was only one answer left: they had either been bitten to death or had escaped through so other shortcut.

A little less than a hundred ters past the fork in the path, Tang Zheng ca upon the corpse of a woman, her mutilated face unrecognizable, with white bones visible in nurous parts of her body.

Further ahead, at a breeding room so twenty ters down another side corridor, lay the corpses of seven zombie dogs.

Tang Zheng ran over to see the iron gate knocked off its hinges and the room in chaos, with bloodstains, manure, and broken flesh scattered everywhere.

Two n’s bodies lay on the ground, torn to shreds, their skulls crushed and brain pulp devoured, leaving nothing but hollow shells, and another corpse was in a cage.

That man, in a panic when the zombies broke into the room, had fled into it, only to trap himself and, after a few minutes of struggle, was bitten to death when the zombie dogs broke through the tal bars.

“Two more to go, a woman and a soldier,” Tang Zheng murmured as he searched and saw the fifty-centiter square ventilation duct on the right-side wall, its protective grille lying nearby.

Tang Zheng climbed atop the cage to check inside and saw in the dusty ventilation duct traces of sobody’s passage, even a dead zombie monkey, its blood leaving a trail.

“No need to chase after them,” Tang Zheng wasn’t one to take risks.

The ventilation duct was narrow and turning around to exit would be difficult.

He had been ready to throw so zombie dogs’ corpses in there to either block the path or expose the enemy to the risk of infection, but it seed unnecessary now.

“Seems you got lucky,” Tang Zheng muttered.

Without tools, he couldn’t weld the grille, which probably would have sealed the fate of those two who slipped through the net.

He took out a tal block, opened the map, and after checking the topography briefly, zood into the breeding area.

The map was detailed, even marking the location of the ventilation ducts.

“Dong Zixuan, don’t you go running off,” Tang Zheng chose a shortcut to pursue the policewoman.

In the ventilation duct, the Indian soldier struggled to crawl forward in the narrow and cramped space, the feeling of suffocation overwhelming.

He had no intention of concerning himself with the burden lagging behind.

“Please, don’t leave ,” the woman cried, feeling helpless and scared as the wound on her leg, bitten by a zombie dog, bled continuously, draining her strength and causing her to fall further behind.

After a few minutes, she turned into a zombie and, hearing the sound of humans, started to pursue them.

Since the passage was too narrow to turn around, and the sight of light ahead distracted him, the soldier didn’t notice the danger until he reached the duct’s end and saw the room ahead swarming with zombies.

Hold his breath, he was pondering what to do when the sounds coming from behind beca disturbing.

Twisting into an awkward position to look back, he saw a ghastly, decaying cheek which nearly caused him to collapse in fear.

The soldier, panting heavily, desperately beat at the grille, trying to escape.

His firearm had run out of bullets in the earlier encounter, and his struggle was in vain.

He was bitten by the zombie, unable to fight back in the narrow passage, and could only watch as the zombie began to gnaw on his calf.

By this point, the entire fifteen mber Indian team that had entered the underground laboratory had been annihilated.

However, the fate of the other teams wasn’t much better, as they too suffered various attacks.

The French team, in particular, faced the worst outco, stumbling upon a Tyrant and losing half of their newbies in a single confrontation.

Although the majority of the zombie dogs had been lured away by the Indian team, there were still more than twenty on Dong Zixuan’s tail.

Kong Licheng attempted several tis to set up a defense to hold them off, but aside from Dong Zixuan, everyone else was only concerned with fleeing for their lives.

The two of them alone would only be heading for certain death if they stayed behind.

Li Xizhu was hit in the thigh during the earlier skirmish and, after struggling for just over two minutes, fell behind without a chance for Liu Binshi to co to his aid, leaving no last words before being overwheld and killed by the onslaught of zombie dogs.

Hu Liwen was a woman and although a policewoman, she was unfortunately a desk officer with poor physical strength.

She quickly fell behind, the sound of barking driving her to incontinence as urine ran down her legs.

“Zixuan, help ,” Hu Liwen begged, tears and snot streaming down, sprinting with all her might.

“Run faster!” Dong Zixuan surveyed the corridors on both sides, thinking about tactics and didn’t stop rashly, as that would have been the most foolish choice.

“What would Tang Zheng do?” she wondered.

“Help , I’m going to die!” Seeing that Dong Zixuan didn’t even look back, under the imnse pressure of impending death, Hu Liwen began to resent her, and that resentnt soon extended to everyone else present.

Suddenly she rembered the story of an outrun bear, thinking that it didn’t matter if she couldn’t outrun it, as long as she outran the others.

At that mont, the policewoman hesitated and raised her shotgun, aiming at Liu Miao’s legs ahead of her.

Boom, with the sudden shot, Liu Miao’s leg was blasted into a bloody ss, and she scread as she fell to the ground.

Hu Hong caught a glimpse of Liu Miao falling beside him, startled for a mont, then turned back to see Hu Liwen aiming the shotgun at him, fear coursing through him.
