After what had happened with the first two, the system had an issue with Kael. He broke the very first rule of being a dungeon, and that was to ensure that it was as hard as possible for the people that enter to find anything, and also leave.
So when the next day ca, and early in the morning, a party of adventurers walked into the dungeon, the system imdiately forced a mission on Kael.
[DUNGEON DIRECTIVE ISSUED]
[Objective: 2 Entities must not leave Floor One alive]
[Ti Limit: 72 hours]
[Failure Penalty: Dungeon Rank Decay — C- to D]
[Failure Penalty: Forced Dormancy — 30 days]
[This directive cannot be declined.]
"What the hell?" Kael said in shock, stunned by the sudden mission that he had received. He read through it fast, and the part that hit the most was the fact that it could not be declined. The system wanted to ensure that he did his task as a dungeon.
"What sort of twisted chanism is this? Forcing to kill them? Tch, seems I can’t get away with being cuddly to adventurers every ti, I am now a dungeon after all."
The party consisted of a total of ten mbers, four of whom looked like they were well versed in what they were doing here. The four consisted of two n and two won. One was a dual wielding swordsman with full heavy armor, the other was a tank, wielding a shield.
The first lady was dressed right with two daggers at her side. Kael could make out that she was so sort of assassin or sothing, he wasn’t really sure. As for the last lady, she was dressed like a seductive witch, with a beautiful and definitely not modest purple gown that did little to hide her fra and a large witch hat on her head.
These were the four that caught his attention, as for the remaining six behind, he could easily tell that they were rookies, and probably followed behind to gain experience today. This was confird the next second as the man with dual blades spoke.
"Listen up wood ranks, this is a dungeon, and not any old dungeon, a low C rank dungeon."
’Heyyyy, who is that bastard calling low C rank? Tch, is he disrespecting ? Maybe I should kill him first,’ Kael snapped when he heard that. It caused the walls to hum in a low vibration. It caught the attention of the four, but they pushed it off as nothing.
"This dungeon is known to go as deep as twenty to thirty floors, with more possibly there. But for the sake of you lot, we will not go past the third, because on the fourth, you begin to see hobgoblins, goblin kings, orcs, and even skeletons.
The air also gets far too heavy for soone with weak bodies to handle. For now we will focus on the first and second and see how you perform. There are kobolds, basic goblins, slis, and so weaker monsters up here, that’s what we are tackling."
Mumble.
A few of the six began mumbling in discontent, feeling that the way the dungeon wielders were treating them was unfair.
’What the heck are they complaining about?’ Kael asked. He observed them closely. ’There is no way they think they can handle the fourth floor right? These hobgoblins are savage, one bashed the head of his brother into the wall yesterday and ate the remains.
Tch, made sick to my stomach, which I don’t have, so it makes wonder how.’
He knew the type of people that these newbies were. He read about them a lot in the stories. They were the overambitious types that believed that they were capable of more. They would end up getting themselves killed.
"Do not complain. The dungeon is not so ga that you can play," the man with a shield bellowed. "I have had confident and powerful comrades die in this dungeon. It is unforgiving and powerful."
’Hehe, that makes sound pretty cool,’ Kael thought. ’I feel those four are competent, so I’ll send more to them and a few to those whiny brats for now. It would be easier to kill them and finish the mission, but I want to ensure that I kill soone that really deserves it.’
The four turned and walked deeper after they were done addressing the newbies. The newbies followed behind, being far too confident for how weak they were.
’Hmmm, I kinda want to be closer and observe this better,’ Kael thought, so he focused all his attention on them, leaving all the other floors, and imdiately it felt like he was now down beside them.
The entire party suddenly felt a heavy presence watching. They all stopped instantly. Beads of sweat ford on their heads, panic in their eyes.
[Your presence is too concentrated.]
Kael realized that was a mistake and very quickly undid it. Imdiately, the group felt relief.
"What the hell was that?" the assassin looked around and asked.
"It was as though so powerful being was ogling ," the witch said and clutched her body, but there was a sadistic smile on her face like she had enjoyed it.
"Now is not the ti for your perverted thoughts, Violet," the dual wielder said. He looked around a bit more.
"That felt like a monster watching us, but we have barely entered the first floor. We should be careful."
’Phew, I didn’t scare them off. I got lucky,’ Kael thought. He watched them go deeper, and when he felt they were deep enough, he decided to play a little prank. He created and opened a secret door behind them, allowing over twenty kobolds and goblins to rush out with rusted weapons in their hands, blocking the path to exit.
The screeching and clattering reached their ears. They turned around and saw all the monsters that had appeared, and in their hands were weapons. But this was Floor One; they should not have weapons.
Kael did not care. He smiled in his mind, eager to watch a fantasy scene live.
