Chapter 305: Earth Giant
The mont the elder and Li Yao locked eyes, he instantly understood what was happening.
There was no integration realm expert backing her at all.
She WAS the expert.
Now that she stood re inches away from him, he finally understood how much he had let his guard down.
He quickly activated his domain’s power, using it to resist the freezing effect that was rapidly spreading around him.
To his surprise, the ice prison broke quite easily. Making him wonder if his earlier judgent was wrong.
As this thought crossed his mind, he suddenly noticed sothing strange. The Li Yao who had been approaching him at impossible speed and was now just inches away began to wither. Her form dissolved into countless snowflakes that drifted through the wind.
“Huh?”
He wore a confused expression as he watched one of the flakes land on his palm. He stared at it, studying it for a mont before he rembered sothing.
“Oh no!”
He vanished from his position in an instant.
Li Yao materialized before Chen Wuji and his group who had just about barely made it a quarter of the way down the mountain.
“Your journey ends here.”
The group of disciples found themselves completely immobilized once more.
“Wait, don’t!” A desperate voice scread out from behind, but Li Yao had already begun to draw her sword.
“Nooooo!” The elder’s cry echoed across the mountainside as he rocketed toward Li Yao at maximum speed.
At first, it seed as though nothing had happened as Li Yao calmly sheathed her sword.
But the mont the elder closed the distance between them, the space around the disciples suddenly broke apart and they turned into space dust.
The elder’s face twisted with pure rage.
Their sect had just lost one of its holy sons. He didn’t know what punishnt the sect master would inflict on him for allowing this to happen under his watch. But he knew one thing – he wanted Li Yao dead no matter what.
His hand stretched toward her as he roared in fury.
With his arm just inches away from her, he was already imagining how he would tear her apart piece by piece. But then, suddenly, he found himself grasping nothing but a bolt of pure lightning.
The electricity spread rapidly through his arm, sending waves of excruciating pain through his body as he tried desperately to shake it off.
As the pain faded, he looked around frantically, wondering where she had vanished to. When he turned his gaze upward, he saw a massive hand descending toward him.
No, it wasn’t truly enormous, but it filled his entire field of vision, making it seem as though the entire world was collapsing down upon him. Li Yao had grabbed the elder’s head with her powerful grip and was using all her strength to drive him downward.
“Why don’t I take you for a ride?” she said in amusent as they began rapidly losing height.
As they plumted, the elder struggled frantically, trying to pry Li Yao’s grip from his face. But no matter what he did, nothing seed to work. Her physical strength was simply too overwhelming.
He channeled the full power of his domain, but Li Yao responded by unleashing her own domain, matching his intensity.
He gripped her hands tightly, pressing against them with all his might. Dirt and soil began spreading from the point of contact, covering Li Yao’s entire body in layers of earth. Even then, she didn’t let go.
Snowflakes started materializing around them. The earth coating Li Yao’s body froze solid in an instant, then shattered into countless fragnts, releasing her from the earth prison.
As they approached the ground at terminal velocity, Li Yao sensed a presence behind her. She turned to look and saw that the mountain peak had actually transford into an enormous hand and was now descending toward her.
…
Seeing Li Yao’s expression, the elder smiled.
He then tightened his grip on her even further and channeled his earth elent, causing rocky material to form around both their hands, locking them together.
Li Yao’s gaze darted frantically between the elder below her, now just inches from hitting the ground, and the massive hand above, ready to crush them both the mont they made impact.
She suddenly realized sothing. She had previously thought catching him off guard and smashing him into the earth was a brilliant strategy, but she hadn’t considered that he actually wielded the earth elent and possessed an earth-type domain. Driving him into the ground might not even hurt him at all. She was the only one at a disadvantage in this situation.
When the elder saw the look on her face, his smile grew even wider and his grip tightened even more than before. But suddenly, he felt that familiar electric charge spreading through his body as Li Yao once again vanished from his grasp, leaving behind a bolt of lightning.
The pain of the electrical shock was overwhelming, making him lose control for a second. He crashed hard into the ground, his body digging a massive crater deep into the ground.
But that wasn’t the end of his troubles.
The huge hand from above had too much montum to stop when he lost control over it. The mont he realized what was about to happen, he quickly tried to regain control of the attack but it was too late. The colossal hand slamd heavily into him, driving him even deeper into the ground.
Watching from atop a cliff, Li Yao shivered slightly as the crash echoed across the landscape. She thought to herself that she definitely heard several bones cracking from that impact.
As she observed the aftermath, the ground suddenly began trembling violently beneath her feet. She leaped into the air to watch from there instead.
The earth around the elder’s impact site started twisting and churning.
It then began reshaping itself forming the outline of sothing that resembled so sort of creature. Then, piece by piece, parts started erging from the ground. First ca an enormous head, at least a hundred ters in diater. Then the thick neck, broad shoulders, and gigantic arms that stretched at least three hundred ters each. Finally, the rest of the colossal body pulled itself free from the earth.
Now a titan made entirely of rock and soil stood before Li Yao.
She raised her clenched fist with a confident smile, thinking to herself that this just ant more surface area for her to strike. Besides, sothing that large probably couldn’t move very fast anyway.
As this thought crossed her mind, she suddenly saw a massive fist hurtling toward her. Despite the creature’s enormous size, the punch maintained the frightening speed of an integration realm cultivator.
The giant fist collided with the remnants of lightning where Li Yao had been standing, producing wisps of smoke on its knuckles as it slowly withdrew.
Li Yao materialized on the opposite side, her expression more serious now. She thought to herself that this wasn’t going to be as easy as she had hoped.
