She boarded the car, turned back to look at him through the closing doors with an expression that was still doing active processing work, and then the doors sealed and the car moved.
He watched it go and then walked ho.

Seraphine ca through the front door quietly.
Her father was on the living room sofa with a book, his military posture unchanged even in leisure. He looked up when she entered. "Welco back. Did you et with young Nova? How is he doing? Think he’ll qualify for a Combat University?"
Seraphine thought about the contaminated warrior hanging suspended in space. About the palm pressed to its head. About the contamination that had been twisted through a person’s body and soul dissolving under a flow of purifying Chaotic Qi while the man scread and then stopped screaming and breathed.
About the casual, almost disinterested quality of all of it.
"He should qualify for one of the Supre Combat Universities," she said.
Her father’s hand stopped mid-page turn. He looked at her over the top of his book. "...Excuse ?"

"Seraphine." He set the book down. "Nova’s awakened talent was E-rank. How could he possibly—"
"Hey! Where are you going! Explain yourself properly!"
She had already turned down the hallway. Her bedroom door closed behind her. She sat on the edge of her bed and then fell backward onto it, arms spread, staring at the ceiling.
Two things had crystallized clearly in her mind.
