Lu Jincheng paused slightly with the nu in hand and glanced at San’er. He was calmly sipping the drink he ordered earlier, not feeling at all uneasy about his lie.

"It’s good that you don’t mind. Bro, have you finished ordering? Hand your nu when you’re done." After San’er handed the nu to Leng Shuangshuang, he was left without a nu.

Lu Jincheng didn’t lift his eyelids and said, "Ask the waiter to bring another one over."

San’er pursed his lips, reluctantly doing as he was told. In the end, he ordered two portions for himself, added one for Lu Jincheng, and prepared an extra dessert for Leng Shuangshuang.

Not only did Leng Shuangshuang look at him in surprise, but even Lu Jincheng couldn’t help but raise his eyes.

Lu Jincheng couldn’t resist asking, "When did your appetite beco so big?"

San’er: "I can’t eat so much by myself, it’s all for you guys."

Leng Shuangshuang’s mouth twitched heavily; her appetite had always been small, and besides, she didn’t like sweets.

"San’er, order less, I don’t eat sweets."

Upon hearing this, San’er slapped his forehead abruptly, "Oh, right! Only my sister likes sweets." ntioning Lu Xinyun, San’er couldn’t help but sigh, "I wonder what’s up with her these years; after slimming down, she doesn’t gain weight no matter how much she eats."

"Isn’t that right? I asked her, and she said she didn’t know why either."

The two started talking about Lu Xinyun as if opening a floodgate, chatting endlessly. anwhile, Lu Jincheng had no way to insert himself into their topic, so he just sat silently and occasionally scrolled through his phone.

He hadn’t seen such a talkative Leng Shuangshuang for a long ti—in front of Lu Xinyun, she would say a bit more, but with others, she remained composed, sparing with her words, and didn’t like to show emotions on her face.

As Lu Jincheng listened to her voice, for so reason, a feeling of irritation arose inside.

Following that, he heard Leng Shuangshuang ask San’er, "San’er, why didn’t your sister co out with you today?"

"Her, well, my parents were going to take her out, but she got whisked away by a wild man." Talking about this, San’er couldn’t help but shake his head. "My mom used to always say that a grown daughter can’t be kept, and I didn’t understand then; now I truly feel it."

Seeing San’er with an air of maturity, Leng Shuangshuang couldn’t help but laugh, "You talk like you’re her elder."

San’er scratched the back of his head awkwardly, "In front of you guys, I wouldn’t dare consider myself an elder."

"Knowing you can’t consider yourself an elder, yet discussing elder matters in public?"

A voice devoid of warmth ca, and San’er and Leng Shuangshuang quickly exchanged a glance, both retracting their expressions and falling silent. Out of Leng Shuangshuang’s sight, San’er rolled his eyes dramatically at his big brother.

Couldn’t such a smart person feel his good intentions?

However, his goodwill was destined not to receive Lu Jincheng’s thanks.

On the way back to the company, in order not to go back with Lu Jincheng, Leng Shuangshuang jogged back at a nearly running pace.

She thought, in the future, if anyone connected to Lu Jincheng invites her, she must ask clearly before deciding to go; otherwise, if situations like today at noon happen a few more tis, she might really collapse.

-

In stark contrast to Leng Shuangshuang’s situation, Lu Xinyun was overjoyed the whole morning. Because Nangong Xuan took her to the amusent park!
