She had been lying down for a long ti, yet she couldn’t fall asleep, her mind full of the phone call Lu Jinyang had just made.
If she rembered correctly, Lu Jinyang had told her that he never morizes phone numbers; the only one etched in his mory was the one she used five years ago.
Would such a man really rember his subordinate’s number by heart?
Xiao Qing didn’t know how she had fallen asleep, but upon waking, Lu Jinyang was no longer by her side. She was startled, quickly turned over, got out of bed, and walked out, only to see Lu Jinyang sitting in the living room watching TV.
Oh no, listening to the TV.
Xiao Qing walked over, deliberately making quite a bit of noise. She saw Lu Jinyang closing his eyes and turning his face towards her, "Awake?"
"Mhm."
She sat beside him, staring at his vacant eyes for a good while before she finally spoke.
"Lu Jinyang, is there really no cure for your eyes?"
"It will heal. Li Yan will bring back the best treatnt, don’t worry."
"Oh."
Xiao Qing bowed her head, beginning to doubt whether her judgnt was wrong.
Yet, a woman’s intuition tells her that she can’t be wrong—Lu Jinyang must be hiding sothing from her.
She decided to observe for a few more days without letting him notice anything.
After a while, Lu Jinyang suddenly stood up, took her hand, and started walking towards the vestibule, saying, "Let take you sowhere."
"Where?"
"You’ll know once we get there."
About half an hour later, they arrived at the place ntioned by Lu Jinyang.
After getting off the car, Xiao Qing looked at Lu Jinyang with so skepticism, "Are you sure you got the address right?"
Lu Jinyang didn’t speak, took out his phone, and handed it to Xiao Qing, "Call Gu Chen."
Xiao Qing gave him a suspicious glance, but still took the phone.
The mont the call went through, Gu Chen’s voice ca over, "Drive one hundred ters forward, it’s on the right side."
Xiao Qing looked forward; one hundred ters away was a villa with no one at the front gate. She told Lu Jinyang, "Gu Chen said to go forward one hundred ters."
"Yeah, follow his instructions."
The two returned to the car, and Xiao Qing restarted it and drove forward.
Two minutes later, the car stopped.
Alighting from the car, Xiao Qing was about to call Gu Chen when she saw him coming out of a neighboring villa, followed by Gu Li.
Seeing Gu Chen and Gu Li together, Xiao Qing was taken aback but quickly regained her composure.
She joked, "President Gu, is it really proper for you to bring your employee here for a date?"
Unexpectedly, before Gu Chen could respond, Gu Li was already unhappy.
She approached Xiao Qing, speaking rather pitifully, "Sister Qing, I’m running errands for you, yet you slander like this."
"Running errands for ?"
Before Gu Li could explain, Lu Jinyang got out of the car and said to Xiao Qing, "Let’s go in and see if you like it."
Xiao Qing was confused, "Are you giving a gift?"
As the words fell, Gu Li covered her mouth and giggled, about to explain, but Gu Chen pulled her away.
Xiao Qing looked towards Lu Jinyang, asking again, "Lu Jinyang, what exactly are you up to?"
Hearing her question, Lu Jinyang didn’t rush to answer; instead, he beckoned to her, "Co here, lead inside."
She walked over with a frown, wanting to inquire further, but suppressed the doubt in her heart and walked into the villa, arm in arm.
In fact, this villa was about the sa size as the Lu Mansion, but the interior decoration and furniture style were very much to her liking. Even the layout revealed the designer’s thoughtfulness.
