Having said those words, Zhuang Shuqing indifferently stood up, grabbed her bag, and walked out.
Enough is enough!
She didn’t want to stay here for another second.
Thinking about how Lu Jinyang hadn’t answered her call made her both sad and worried. Hadn’t he said he would co later? How co he still hasn’t arrived even as they’ve started to serve the dishes?
Because she left in such a rush, Zhuang Shuqing bumped into soone as she reached the doorway.
After steadying herself, she instinctively looked at the person and recognized it was Si Nanchen, who had just changed his clothes to toast the guests. A flash of coldness swept through her eyes but quickly disappeared.
Si Nanchen glanced inside, saw that the dishes were being served, then asked her, "They’re already serving dishes, where are you going?"
"Going ho!" Zhuang Shuqing admitted there was so anger in her voice, giving her words an unintentionally accusing tone.
Tan Biyang walked in just in ti to hear those words. She paused in her steps, standing three ters away from the two.
"Since you’re already here, eat first before you go," Si Nanchen said.
"No need, my husband will co to pick up later. You go ahead with what you were doing."
"You ungrateful woman! Just now, you claid my son isn’t precious in your eyes inside there. How long has it been since you said that, and now you can’t wait to slap your own face!"
Right after Zhuang Shuqing finished speaking, an exasperated voice ca from inside.
Without looking, she knew who it belonged to.
Si Nanchen frowned deeply, looking over unhappily, "Mom, why are you speaking like that!"
Jiang Fu opened her mouth to say sothing but upon locking eyes with the daughter-in-law behind her son, she swallowed back her words, "Nanchen, Biyang, go ahead with the toasts. I have sothing to say to this Miss."
However, Si Nanchen didn’t move.
Seeing this, Jiang Fu added, "Nanchen, Biyang is wearing so little, you should quickly take her inside."
Hearing this, Tan Biyang took a couple of steps forward, only to hear Si Nanchen suddenly speak, "Mom, you go inside first with her."
Jiang Fu was elated and walked towards Zhuang Shuqing, reaching out to pull her hand.
"Mom!"
Si Nanchen called out loud, startling Jiang Fu. Before she could scold Si Nanchen, she heard him say, "I ant that you take Tan Biyang inside."
Behind him, Tan Biyang’s face looked exceptionally unpleasant.
Jiang Fu called her Biyang, whereas her own husband referred to her by her full na. Looking at Jiang Fu, Tan Biyang saw that she was also looking back at her, leaving Tan Biyang unsure of how to react.
Si Nanchen saw that neither of them moved; he didn’t urge them, just slightly lowered his head to look at Zhuang Shuqing.
At that mont, Zhuang Shuqing felt like she was about to break down.
She had never imagined there’d be a day when she would be "ganged up" on by the mother and would-be ex of soone she could barely consider an ex.
She took a deep breath and said to Si Nanchen, "Si Nanchen, can you please get a hold of yourself, so Mrs. Si doesn’t have to worry about you succumbing to your own heart every day."
At first, Si Nanchen did not understand what she ant, but when he saw Jiang Fu’s expression, he vaguely grasped sothing.
He didn’t speak, but Jiang Fu couldn’t contain herself and spoke up against Zhuang Shuqing.
"Zhuang Shuqing, I warn you not to spew nonsense that could damage the relationship between and my son. Weren’t you leaving? Then go, quickly."
Si Nanchen and Tan Biyang looked at Jiang Fu at the sa ti, then at Zhuang Shuqing, keeping silent by unspoken agreent.
"No, I’ve changed my mind. Mrs. Si, since everyone’s here, I think it’s better to make so things clear. First of all, your son and I each have our own families now, so there’s no possibility between us. You should trust your son rather than dealing with on this."
