dusa gently smacked his shoulder and pouted with a fake anger, she was genuinely concerned about his safety. And it made her guilty that he got into trouble because of her irresponsibility. She blad herself for not checking the surroundings and other factors which could possibly harm him.
There were tears in her eyes which softened his heart when she took all the bla for the incident on herself. Whereas Lydia did no like how dusa successfully snagged his attention without even putting efforts. It also made her jealous that she had so other big news to tell Kayden.
But the succubus slyly consud his attention which pushed Lydia behind. Both of the won had initiated a cold war between themselves. The competition was self made and it created a lot of unsaid ss between the two of them. What if Kayden happen to mark more ladies and take more mates in!?
"I'm sorry....I did not an sothing like that to happen. I really am sorry, Kayden...it's.....it's my fault. I should have been careful but...it all happened because I let my attention waver."
dusa lowered her head and confessed that everything probably happened because she failed to protect him. The succubus felt guilty which was visible in her shallow tone as she spoke. She was still in his embrace with Kayden's arm around her waist.
Whereas Lydia was also in his other arm and was seeing the sly succubus, who had successfully snagged his attention by her crocodile tears. Kayden looked straight into dusa's eyes and patted on her back. His soft expressions and the special treatnt towards her infuriated Lydia.
"It's okay. Sothing like that can happen with anyone. Don't let it bother you now anymore, love."
Kayden assured her that she could forget that incident, although he was also not having a fuller picture of it either. Everything in his mind was vague too, like a blurry picture. But Kayden could clearly rember that the man was an elf and it disturbed him even more.
He was barely able to recover from the previous blow that he was the heir of so realm which he had never visited yet. And now sothing else also dawned upon him, Kayden could not help but question everything and everyone now. He also needed so more answers from his father and Malcolm.
During the past weeks he was sure that those two guys were the only ones who could potentially answer his queries. Since dusa was not in her right mind because of Lydia's arrival, the succubus was emotionally a ss at that ti. Thus it was wise to avoid listening to her, there was a high possibility that dusa will make Kayden leave Lydia either way.
He did not want to do that considering that the vampiress was the ladder to bright opportunities ahead. It was simply not wise to pay heed to her words assuming that dusa will eventually force him by making so false theory. Whereas it was not the right mont for him to leave Lydia when she was his personal golden hen.
"So, you aren't angry, right?"
dusa faked a pout with an innocent expressions. The succubus wanted to make sure that he was not blaming her for what happened. Since Jones was still angry with dusa, thus she needed Kayden to take her side at least.
There was utter glint of anxiety and underlying fear of his anger, the succubus looked straight up into his eyes. Whereas this ti Lydia rolled her eyes seeing her acting, which made her puke and envy how sly dusa could be!
"Haha, no. Why would I be angry over an accident which can happen to anyone?"
dusa did not understand why Kayden said that it could happen to anyone. Although she did not bother to correct him either as it saved her from all the possible consequences. Whereas Lydia was silent because she had no clue what just happened.
She simply stayed quiet not knowing how to react to that conversation. But since it raised her curiosity thus she took the liberty to ask herself. How could she stay behind when dusa was taking all the possible chances to get his attention.
"What do you an? What happened to you?"
Lydia held his face and shifted Kayden's attention to herself. There was utter concern on her face, which made him realize that she was unaware of the incident. He pulled her closer to him and smiled at Lydia while the woman looked into his eyes with a frightful expression.
"Don't you think you get frightful easily, love?"
Kayden's pull made her realize that she was getting scared frequently and easily. It also reminded her how she was sitting down on the floor when dusa dominated her with power. The particular words scared dusa too, as she was sure that Kayden bought the lie of testing Lydia's powers.
"Be brave, uh. Or else people will always be testing your limits."
He clearly hinted dusa that he was aware of her lies and it threatened her to stay away from Lydia. Kayden could not afford to lose Lydia, not because he was in love with her or sothing like that. But because she was his key to a bright future.
The vampiress smiled at him and nodded to pay heed to his words. Whereas dusa was stunned to see how he slyly handled both of them with his words. She could not help but admire his skills with words. They both did not know that Kayden used their jealousy and insecurity to soothe them both.
Who would have known that Kayden was the sa guy who was laughingstock for everyone and had no social status, was now having two gorgeous mates and was wanted by the special squad! Not that the fa was any good but it did made Kayden appear soone worthy of attention.
