Chapter 63: Chapter 63: Saying One Thing but aning Another Chapter 63: Chapter 63: Saying One Thing but aning Another At the mont Xu Jinzhi appeared before his eyes, Xie Yanchuan was completely stunned, as if he had seen an illusion.

And Xu Jinzhi at the doorstep, upon seeing Xie Yanchuan, instantly revealed a radiant smile, “Xie Yanchuan!”

Xu Jinzhi hadn’t even managed to close the door, and even her suitcase was still at the entrance, as she sprinted toward Xie Yanchuan.

The next mont, Xie Yanchuan was tightly embraced by Xu Jinzhi.

At that ti, Xie Yanchuan was still sowhat in a daze, and even because he had drunk so alcohol, he temporarily couldn’t stand steadily.

When Xu Jinzhi rushed over and hugged him, Xie Yanchuan subconsciously caught her, but still staggered back two steps before coming to a halt.

“You, why did you co back?” Xie Yanchuan’s voice was a bit hoarse, betraying a sense of surprise.

Xu Jinzhi was still holding onto Xie Yanchuan, just tilting her head back and looking up at him, she asked with a smile on her face, “Aren’t you happy to see ?”

Xie Yanchuan’s adam’s apple moved, and his heartbeat was very fast. Staring at Xu Jinzhi’s eyes that seed to hold a sky full of stars, it took a while before he said, “Happy.”

Xu Jinzhi’s smile deepened, and she tipped up on her toes for a kiss.

Xie Yanchuan had no chance to refuse, not that he wanted to refuse internally, so he instinctively closed his eyes and followed Xu Jinzhi’s rhythm.

But it didn’t take long for Xie Yanchuan to beco dissatisfied with just that, as the arms holding Xu Jinzhi involuntarily began to tighten, as if trying to ld her into his very flesh.

With a “ding” sound, a noise suddenly ca from the hallway, followed by the hurried sound of footsteps, “Hello, your takeaway has arrived…”

Xie Yanchuan abruptly snapped back to reality, opened his eyes, and paused his movents, looking instinctively toward the source of the sound.

Xu Jinzhi had not managed to close the door upon entering, and now it remained open. The voice was from next door—soone had ordered takeaway, and it just so happened to arrive at that mont, just so they could overhear.

Xie Yanchuan’s heart beat rapidly, and it took several seconds before he hoarsely said to Xu Jinzhi, “I’ll go close the door.”

Xu Jinzhi blinked and didn’t say much, and Xie Yanchuan let go of her and headed for the door.

Xu Jinzhi’s gaze followed Xie Yanchuan as he quickly stepped out, pushing the suitcase she had forgotten at the doorway inside and closing the door as well.

By the ti Xie Yanchuan brought the suitcase inside and looked up, he found Xu Jinzhi smiling at him, and his heart, which had just cald down, trembled again.

Maybe it was the alcohol in his system, but Xie Yanchuan felt extrely warm, to the point of breaking out in a sweat, and even a different kind of emotion seed to arise from the depths of his heart.

But Xie Yanchuan was trying hard to restrain himself.

He returned to Xu Jinzhi’s side, and with a low voice, he asked, “Why did you suddenly co back? Didn’t you still have work for a few more days?”

Xu Jinzhi didn’t speak but instead ca in front of Xie Yanchuan, stretching out her slender arms and wrapping them around his neck again, and asked, “So, didn’t you tell today is soone’s award ceremony?”

They were so close, but Xie Yanchuan dared not make any sudden movents, afraid that Xu Jinzhi might notice sothing.

He leaned back a little, and with so embarrassnt said, “It’s just a small achievent. You have work; it’s not worth coming back for.”

Just from looking at Xie Yanchuan’s expression, Xu Jinzhi knew how much of a “lip service” it was!

He clearly wanted her to go; the reason he hadn’t ntioned it was just because he was worried she would refuse.

Xu Jinzhi still hooked her arms around Xie Yanchuan’s neck but with a swift pull, they were close together, and she leaned in and said in a lower voice, “Xie Yanchuan, you are amazing!”

Xie Yanchuan’s adam’s apple moved, and he slightly dropped his gaze to look at Xu Jinzhi, unsure of what to say.

“The next ti sothing like this happens, you have to tell . Whether I can make it or not, I will be happy for you,” Xu Jinzhi said.

Xu Jinzhi tiptoed, and while looking at Xie Yanchuan, she gently kissed the corner of his lips. Her voice carried a hint of seduction, “I want to share such joy with you. I will be happy for you, and I will be proud of you.”

Xie Yanchuan had been a good student since he was young, but with three children in the Xie Family, an elder brother and a younger brother, he was the one who was overlooked.

This lack of attention was evident in many aspects.

Take the simplest parent-teacher etings from childhood; Xie Suian and He Shuying attended his parent-teacher eting only once. He rembered that was because Xie Xingchuan hadn’t started school at that ti, and both of them happened to be free during the eting.

But after Xie Xingchuan started school, they never attended his etings again. Those who went to his etings were Xie Suian’s assistant and the housekeeper.

He was young then and thought it was because his grades weren’t good enough, and they were too embarrassed to attend. But later he realized that wasn’t the case; even if he was the top of his class, they wouldn’t go.

It was because there were three etings to attend at the sa ti, because they didn’t care about him, so no matter how good his grades, they wouldn’t go.

So Xie Yanchuan had long gotten used to being alone. Whether good or bad, he felt it was enough that he knew it himself.

But now things were different; there was soone by his side, a remarkable Xu Jinzhi, who, in theory, should have been a business marriage partner.

But Xu Jinzhi said it wasn’t like that, she chose to be with him because she liked him.

Xie Yanchuan didn’t know whether she really liked him or was deceiving him, but his feelings for Xu Jinzhi were genuine…

Yet even so, Xie Yanchuan was still worried she would refuse him, which was why he hadn’t ntioned this matter to her.

Moreover, Xie Yanchuan didn’t think this was anything to be so proud of. If the next experint was successful and the cancer drug could be released, he would certainly tell Xu Jinzhi right away.

But now, hearing Xu Jinzhi say such a thing, Xie Yanchuan felt extrely complicated and didn’t know what to say.

Xie Yanchuan felt an emotion deep in his heart that he could completely not control, and his hands at his sides involuntarily clenched into fists; he bit down hard, even to the point where the corners of his eyes turned slightly red.

Xu Jinzhi had more to say, she tilted her head slightly and glanced at her watch, “Xie Yanchuan, it’s just hit midnight now, only a few seconds before it’s the early hours.”

Xie Yanchuan looked at her sowhat blankly, not understanding what she ant by that.
