Chapter 51: Chapter 51: I Can’t Go Over Tonight Chapter 51: Chapter 51: I Can’t Go Over Tonight By the ti she got off the plane, Xu Jinzhi was still groggy, even walking with a floaty feeling.

There was no other option, Assistant Chen had to borrow a wheelchair from the airport and then pushed Xu Jinzhi out to the car and instructed the driver to go directly to the hospital.

On the way, Xu Jinzhi still felt unwell, her head leaning against the car window, her breathing heavy.

She vaguely rembered that she had forgotten sothing, but she couldn’t recall what it was all of a sudden.

What had she forgotten?

It seed to be sothing quite important.

What could it be?

Between the dizziness and the forgotten matter, Xu Jinzhi could only try to think for a while and then rest for a while, think for a while and then rest for a while.

It wasn’t until she ca off the elevated road from the airport and entered the central area that she saw the restaurant she had once visited with Xie Yanchuan, which suddenly jolted her mory.

She had forgotten about Xie Yanchuan!

Originally, Xie Yanchuan wanted to pick her up from the airport, but Xu Jinzhi had refused, saying she had had little appetite recently in G Province and wanted to eat the food made by Xie Yanchuan upon her return.

So by now, Xie Yanchuan should already be at ho, having prepared dinner, just waiting for her to arrive!

“Where’s my phone?” Xu Jinzhi, struggling against her dizziness, started looking for her phone. She couldn’t make it now, but she had to call Xie Yanchuan to tell him.

“Here it is.” A female subordinate hurriedly took Assistant Chen’s bag, pulled Xu Jinzhi’s phone out of it, and handed it to her.

With her phone in hand, Xu Jinzhi turned it on, found Xie Yanchuan’s number in the contacts, and called him.

The call was quickly connected, and Xie Yanchuan’s gentle voice ca through, “Jinzhi.”

Before Xu Jinzhi could speak, Xie Yanchuan asked, “Where are you?”

Considering the ti, Xu Jinzhi should about be there by now, Xie Yanchuan glanced at the pot and thought it would be better for him to go downstairs and et her.

But before Xie Yanchuan could say anything, he heard Xu Jinzhi’s sowhat strange voice on the phone, “Xie Yanchuan, I can’t co over tonight.”

Xie Yanchuan’s expression stiffened for a mont, but he quickly sensed that sothing was wrong and hurriedly asked, “Jinzhi, what’s happened to you?”

Xu Jinzhi didn’t answer Xie Yanchuan, but the mont she heard him asking about her, she couldn’t help her eyes turning red.

She didn’t know if it was because she felt unwell now, or because she heard Xie Yanchuan’s voice, her heart felt even more fragile.

“I have a fever.” Xu Jinzhi tried her best to keep her tone as calm as she could, but when she spoke, she couldn’t help breaking into a weepy voice.

She didn’t want to, but she couldn’t control herself!

“You have a fever?” Anxieties rushed to his heart, “Where are you now? Have you already returned, or are you still in G Province?”

Xie Yanchuan felt a bit of regret. He should have ssaged Xu Jinzhi at noon to confirm, now he didn’t know if she had returned or not.

“I’m back, on the way to the hospital now,” Xu Jinzhi said.

“Which hospital are you at? I’m coming over now!”

Xie Yanchuan had already turned off the stove, taken off his apron, and was heading out, looking very anxious.

Xu Jinzhi gave him the hospital address, and Xie Yanchuan hurriedly said, “I’ll be there right away.”

After hanging up the phone, Xie Yanchuan grabbed his car keys, ready to leave, but as he reached the doorway to change his shoes, he paused and glanced toward the kitchen.

Xie Yanchuan went back to the kitchen, and using the thermos, he packed up the dishes he had made earlier, choosing two lighter ones to put into it before leaving with the thermos in hand.

By the ti Xie Yanchuan arrived at the hospital, Xu Jinzhi was already on a drip.

The doctor was still there and, upon seeing Xie Yanchuan, he was taken aback, and then, quite astonished, asked, “Professor Xie? What brings you here?”

Xie Yanchuan looked at the doctor, and, after a few seconds, accurately said his na, “Lin Baiyong.”

“How co you’re here?” Right after asking that, Lin Baiyong looked at the woman beside him who was receiving the drip and sowhat understood. “You two are?”

“She’s my fiancée,” explained Xie Yanchuan.

Lin Baiyong nodded repeatedly, noticing Xie Yanchuan’s anxiety and quickly added, “Don’t worry, sister-in-law is fine; she just caught a cold. She’ll be okay once the fever goes down.”

Before, he had addressed him by na, but now he had quickly switched to calling her sister-in-law. Although Lin Baiyong also referred to Xie Yanchuan as “Professor Xie,” they were actually classmates, so calling her sister-in-law wasn’t improper.

Hearing this, Xie Yanchuan also let out a sigh of relief, and when he looked down at Xu Jinzhi again, he noticed she was also looking back at him. He couldn’t help but reach out and gently touch the top of her head.

Lin Baiyong had wanted to talk more with Xie Yanchuan, especially since they hadn’t seen each other in a while, but seeing the situation, he thought it best to leave quickly.

“Then I’ll take my leave. If you need anything, just co to my office,” Lin Baiyong said.

Xie Yanchuan nodded, “Thank you.”

Soon after, Lin Baiyong left, leaving only Xu Jinzhi and Xie Yanchuan together. Originally, Assistant Chen and another female colleague had co together, but now they stayed away, not wanting to disturb them.

“Weren’t you fine this morning? How co you suddenly got a fever?” Xie Yanchuan asked softly.

Xu Jinzhi, lacking her usual flirtatious deanor in Xie Yanchuan’s presence, pursed her lips and blinked weakly, “It was raining heavily on the way to the airport, and the umbrella couldn’t keep out the rain. I got soaked.”

Xie Yanchuan didn’t know what to say for a mont and just looked at Xu Jinzhi with a pained expression.

Unable to help herself, Xu Jinjin humd and leaned into Xie Yanchuan’s arms, then said with a soft, pitiful voice, “Xie Yanchuan, I’m feeling dizzy.”

Xie Yanchuan didn’t dare move, and only after a while did he gently say, “You’ll feel better once the fever subsides.”

Xu Jinzhi didn’t say anything, resting against Xie Yanchuan, then noticed the thermal container he had brought and asked listlessly, “Did you bring dinner?”

“Mm, I thought you might want to eat after your injection,” Xie Yanchuan said.

Xu Jinzhi, although still feeling unwell, was salivating at the thought of the dinner Xie Yanchuan had prepared. She swallowed hard, “I’m hungry, I want to eat now.”

“Now?” Xie Yanchuan was sowhat surprised.

Xu Jinzhi looked up at Xie Yanchuan earnestly and nodded her head, “I didn’t eat much at the hotel this noon, thinking of having a feast tonight.”
