Chapter 243: Chapter 243: Because of the Compassion Arising within Himself
The old monk was montarily stunned, his smile turning sowhat stiff, but he quickly recovered his composure and asked in a hoarse voice, “Benefactor, what do you an by that?”
Xu Jinzhi looked at the old monk before her, feeling no panic at all as she said somberly, “Was it not you who told that everything has started over?”
“Has everything started over, not including those calamities?”
“Were you not the one who specifically reminded ?”
The old monk laughed, believing his subtle hint to have been evident to the other person.
“So, can you tell ? Is the timing of this mishap the sa as last ti?” Xu Jinzhi asked the old monk very sincerely.
She really wanted to know, she didn’t want to keep worrying; if she had a precise ti, she could prepare in advance.
However, Xu Jinzhi did not hear the answer she wanted. The old monk rely said, “Amitabha Buddha.”
“I don’t know either.” The old monk laughed with a hint of sadness, “If I were really that capable, perhaps I shouldn’t be here.”
Xu Jinzhi felt perplexed upon hearing this, but there was one thing she did understand—the old monk before her couldn’t provide her with a definite answer either.
Xu Jinzhi didn’t know if the old monk was hiding sothing from her; she just instinctively felt that perhaps he truly didn’t know.
Thinking this, Xu Jinzhi felt sowhat disheartened.
In the end, the old monk only said, “Cherish those around you.”
“Thank you.” Xu Jinzhi’s voice was a bit hoarse, and as she looked at the old monk, she couldn’t help but want to ask sothing else, but in the end, Xu Jinzhi couldn’t bring herself to speak.
“Sorry to have disturbed you.” Xu Jinzhi bowed slightly and then turned to leave, her steps feeling sowhat heavy.
From the last ti she had visited this old monk and heard from him that everything had started over, she knew what that truly ant.
Her fate of calamity still existed.
But this lifeti, she would never let Xie Yanchuan die instead of her.
Xu Jinzhi couldn’t help but turn back and look; seeing the old monk still standing there unmoved, Xu Jinzhi nodded slightly and then turned again to leave.
The old monk continued to watch the retreating figure of the woman.
Unlike other monks, he didn’t possess such a high state of mind. His previous words had been spoken only because he felt compassion.
He just felt that those who lived were not necessarily happy, just like himself.
But now he sowhat regretted his words; perhaps he shouldn’t have spoken that way.
Living people might feel tornted, but what about those who died for them?
They made their choice resolutely, only to end up being blad by their loved ones, blad for leaving them, blad for keeping them forever living with guilt.
But if their roles were reversed, how could he bear to let his loved one suffer in such a manner?
Xu Jinzhi returned to her company, and the work of the afternoon still continued, yet Xu Jinzhi was sowhat distracted.
She kept thinking, based on the timing of her past life, she still had one year.
One year…
During this year, shouldn’t she do sothing about it?
Xu Jinzhi kept thinking, just kept thinking.
In the evening after work, Xu Jinzhi didn’t rush to leave the company; she felt her emotions weren’t quite sorted yet.
However, after sitting idly in the office for a while, Xu Jinzhi felt that she shouldn’t waste any ti at all!
She should cherish every minute and second she now had with her family!
When Xu Jinzhi got ho from work, the lights were on in the villa. As she got out of the car and entered the villa, she saw Xie Yanchuan playing on the play mat with Tuantuan and Sui Sui.
The light shone on them, making everything look so warm and cozy.
“Ah!” Upon seeing her mom, Sui Sui reached out her hands, motioning for Xu Jinzhi to pick her up.
Yet Sui Sui was less than half a year old, barely able to crawl, let alone walk. At the mont, she could only feebly sit in Xie Yanchuan’s lap and reach out to Xu Jinzhi.
“Mom.” Tuantuan also ca back to his senses, looked up at the door, and called out in his baby voice.
Xie Yanchuan said nothing, just looked at Xu Jinzhi with eyes full of tenderness.
Xu Jinzhi changed her shoes and walked in with a smile.

The next day.
After finishing a eting, Xu Jinzhi returned to her office where Xu Zhen had called her, asking her to attend a financial summit on his behalf the day after tomorrow, but she outright refused.
“What’s the matter? Do you have other plans?” Xu Zhen asked.
“Yeah, I’m taking a day off after tomorrow.” Since it was a weekday, Xu Jinzhi used the term “taking a day off.”
Xu Zhen asked with so confusion, “Taking a day off? Why suddenly take a day off? What’s up with you?”
Xu Zhen’s tone was slightly stern; after all, Xu Jinzhi, if not utterly imrsed in work, was still very dedicated. Over the years, she had only taken ti off to have children.
So when she suddenly said she needed to take a day off, Xu Zhen couldn’t help but feel surprised and suspected sothing might be wrong.
Xu Jinzhi explained, “Day after tomorrow is my fifth wedding anniversary; of course, we need to celebrate it properly.”
Xu Zhen was taken aback and for a mont, couldn’t find the right words to respond.
Xu Jinzhi continued, “So you should attend the summit on your own after tomorrow; I won’t have ti.”
“Understood,” said Xu Zhen, sowhat irritably, before hanging up directly.
Xu Jinzhi put down her phone and started thinking about how to spend the day after tomorrow.
But actually, there was nothing novel about it. Whether it was an anniversary or a birthday, the procedures were much the sa; Xu Jinzhi found it hard to co up with anything original.
She just wanted everything to be a bit special so that Xie Yanchuan would rember it for a longer ti.
Before she knew it, December 9th rolled around—it was Xu Jinzhi and Xie Yanchuan’s wedding anniversary.
Xie Yanchuan woke up early, knowing that Xu Jinzhi didn’t have to go to work today, and turned off the original alarm set on her phone.
Then Xie Yanchuan got up to wash up. He still had a class in the morning which was quite early; it didn’t delay anything, so he hadn’t swapped classes with any other teachers.
But Xu Jinzhi was used to waking up at a certain ti. It wasn’t long before she woke up, just as Xie Yanchuan had just finished washing up.
Seeing that Xu Jinzhi was awake, he ca over to the bed. Xu Jinzhi stretched out her hand, indicating that she wanted Xie Yanchuan to hold her.
Xie Yanchuan obligingly pulled Xu Jinzhi up and held her in his arms, taking the opportunity to kiss the corner of her lips.
