While escorting Cassian’s group to their apartnt, Theodore realized they had three separate apartnts on different floors. Theodore thought the apartnt building was almost full, so they lived separately.
Theodore separated from Cassian and Chelsea on the 10th floor, so he was alone in the elevator when he arrived at his apartnt. When Theodore stepped out of the elevator, his apartnt looked empty and deserted.
Geoffrey and Roxanne had left for work by now. Theodore had no intention of going to the west gate to work at this ti. He strolled towards his apartnt door.
It felt like a long ti since Theodore had returned ho, even though he had only been away for one day and one night outside the base. Theodore threw his body onto the sofa, intending to rest.
When Theodore had just closed his eyes, he heard the sound of his stomach churning. If you recall, Theodore last ate during the break before the zombies entered the mall.
"I just rembered I haven’t eaten all day." Theodore got up and walked towards the kitchen he had not visited for a long ti.
Not wanting to bother, Theodore decided to take two packs of instant noodles and Sacred Dinsion. He imdiately boiled the two noodles until cooked.
Theodore waited until the noodles were cooked and enjoyed his al imdiately. Eating warm food like this is best when his body is exhausted, but his stomach is hungry.
. . .
The next day, Theodore felt more refreshed; his fatigue was gone. Not wanting to stay ho, he was ready to go to the West Gate to work; after putting his lunch into his bag, he left the apartnt.
"You’re ho already, sis?"
As soon as Theodore opened the door to his apartnt, he heard Geoffrey’s voice, which he hadn’t heard in a long ti.
"I’ve been ho since yesterday," Theodore replied casually. "Is there any new news at the base?" Theodore continued.
"There’s been a lot going on at the base these past two days. You’ll get a headache if I tell you everything," Geoffrey replied while shaking his head tiredly.
Theodore furrowed his brow when he heard Geoffrey’s words. He didn’t expect things at the base to worsen when he left.
"Huh?! What’s going on?" Theodore imdiately asked what happened.
Geoffrey did not imdiately answer Theodore’s words. He glanced around at them, who were currently walking down the stairs to the lower floor.
"It’s not safe for to tell you here," Geoffrey whispered seriously to Theodore. He also glanced at the few people who ca downstairs with them.
Theodore’s forehead frowned when he saw Geoffrey’s reaction. Although he was confused, he did not say anything and diverted their conversation to another topic.
"Then, you didn’t go with your brother?" Theodore knew that Roxanne usually left early, so he didn’t find it strange when Geoffrey ca alone from his apartnt.
"Instead, do you intend to go to the west gate by car?" Geoffrey diverted their conversation. He eagerly asked Theodore about this.
"Is it okay?" They had been thinking about doing this but had yet to do it because they hadn’t asked permission.
"Things have changed here, sis! We don’t have to go back to the barracks to get paid. The soldier in charge of the workplace will give it to us when we’re done, so it doesn’t matter if we go and return by ourselves," Geoffrey enthusiastically explained.
"That’s so. Then we’d better take our own car," Theodore replied, agreeing with Geoffrey’s suggestion.
Since they intended to go to the west gate by private car, Theodore and Geoffrey continued down to the basent where the car Theodore had gotten earlier was located. Unlike before, Theodore could see that there were many cars there.
Theodore could tell the other cars parked in this basent already had owners. It was just that Theodore’s car looked very dusty because he had never used it after he left with Roxanne at that ti.
Fortunately, the car was still usable even though Theodore had not heated it up for a long ti. While already inside, Theodore heard Geoffrey start talking.
"Can you take to the clinic in the barracks first before going to the west gate?" Geoffrey languidly spoke to Theodore.
"Clinic? Are you hurt?" Theodore imdiately turned to Geoffrey. He was shocked because he didn’t think that he was injured.
Geoffrey shook his head quickly. "No, not . Actually, my brother is injured and is at the clinic right now, so I have to see him first before going to the West Gate," said Geoffrey, who looked like he was about to cry.
Theodore was shocked to hear that Roxanne was injured; he had not expected to listen to this news as soon as he returned to base.
"Geoffrey, tell what happened." Theodore seriously told Geoffrey to tell him what happened imdiately at the base.
"I will," Geoffrey replied with a bow of his head.
After that, Geoffrey began to tell what happened at the base while Theodore was away.
According to Geoffrey, the people who had attacked the north gate earlier had made a coback and attacked the workers and the people living around it.
Not only that but on the day when everyone was not allowed to leave their hos, the thugs at the west gate created chaos at the base. The military had to intervene to put them in order.
Even though the military had intervened, there were still casualties. More than ten people died because of the riot caused by the thugs.
They were sentenced not to leave their hos at that ti, but as you can imagine, they did not comply and tried to escape from their hos and returned to attack the workers at the west gate.
That’s how Roxanne got hurt. Fortunately, she was saved and is now being treated at the ergency clinic in the barracks.
While listening to Geoffrey’s story, Theodore gripped the steering wheel of his car tightly. It seed that the thugs acting at the north gate could not be left alone.
Theodore had to discuss this further with Victor, as he intended to et his creepy captain.
"That’s why the base situation is very tense at the mont. Considering you just got back, I hope you don’t look for trouble this ti," Geoffrey said, ending his speech.
"They’ve gone too far. But I’m calm. I won’t do anything that will harm us," replied Theodore, trying to calm Geoffrey, who seed devastated by his brother’s current injured condition.
"I just don’t want the people closest to to get hurt again." Geoffrey, who was usually very energetic, looked very lethargic at the mont.
Theodore was silent and silently drove his car towards the barracks, already thinking of what he would do to those troublemaking bastards.
