Not wanting to be revisited by military people, Theodore woke up early and had already started preparing to visit the military barracks, the main headquarters of city base A. Theodore hoped he would et Geoffrey and Roxanne when heading to the barracks because he needed information about this base while he was gone yesterday.

Unfortunately, Theodore didn’t have the chance to chat further with the two of them because he fell asleep like the dead yesterday. So he thought of talking to them today.

Afraid that today he would imdiately be given a mission and go off base, Theodore decided to fry more dumplings in his refrigerator for today’s lunch. Although he still had al coupons that could be redeed, he preferred to bring his own food today.

"But, it’s not a bad idea to see the canteen’s contents provided by the military. It seems like it wouldn’t hurt to go there," Theodore said, thinking of exploring the area of the base he was currently in.

Theodore slung his backpack over his shoulder and walked towards the door of his apartnt. It was ti to leave. If he was late, Victor might send soone to pick him up.

As he exited his house, Theodore saw no sign of an open door from the apartnt opposite. He thought Geoffrey and Roxanne had left or might not have left.

Not finding either of them, Theodore didn’t push too hard and chose to waltz away to the fire escape. As before, Theodore t several people when he went down.

From what Theodore saw, it seed that the top few floors of his apartnt building had been filled with new people. Because they were new to Theodore’s existence, the people who passed by him kept glancing at him curiously.

Unlike what Theodore expected, he saw soone coming towards him with that familiar attitude that he hated so much.

"Hey, I’ve never seen you here before, buddy. I saw you from above. Are you a new resident?" A young man walked up beside Theodore.

"I’ve been here from the beginning. Aren’t you the new one in this building?" Theodore glanced at the young man out of the corner of his eye.

The young man looked surprised when he heard Theodore’s words. He. He looked at Theodore strangely and said, "It seems you don’t know what happened at the base these few days. Believe , friend, there will be more people later in this building."

When Theodore was just about to open his voice to respond to the man’s words, he was surprised by the young man tapping him lightly on the shoulder and then waltzing away, leaving him alone in confusion with his words.

"I was just about to ask what he ant," Theodore said with a sigh and continued.

When Theodore arrived at the apartnt lobby, he saw more people there, unlike when he left the lobby before leaving the base. There had been many changes around his apartnt building since his departure.

Even the area around his apartnt building was now quite orderly, with not many cars littering the streets. It seed that the survivors gave away the cars that could still be used.

Also, people who live in Theodore’s apartnt building and people who live in other apartnt buildings are also seen greeting each other. Even when Theodore walked towards the barracks, he could see that quite a few people were selling on the side of the road.

So were selling their iron or food supplies, and Theodore realized they were using the barter thod to conduct their buying and selling process. Sohow, Theodore could not help but wonder why city base A was one of the most prosperous bases in his previous life.

"My decision wasn’t wrong when I chose to live in this base," Theodore murmured in relief that he decided to move to city A.

When he reached the area around the military barracks, he saw several military cars leaving the barracks with several civilians inside. Theodore frowned when he saw that scene.

"Where are those people going? Are they going outside the base?" Theodore was even more confused when he thought they were going outside the base.

Because the military people would take more soldiers and awakened people out of the base instead of taking civilians out of the base, they would only be wasting their lives if they did that.

With that, Theodore quickened his pace to enter the barracks. As he entered, he t so familiar soldiers and asked them about Victor’s whereabouts.

"Have you seen the captain?" Theodore stopped one of the soldiers he recognized.

"You’ve finally co. The captain is waiting for you in the eting room." The soldier directed Theodore to imdiately et Victor, who was waiting for him.

"Alright, thank you." Theodore imdiately waltzed off toward the eting room the soldier had ntioned.

When he arrived in front of the room in question, Theodore was about to knock on the door, but he was surprised by the door suddenly opening from the inside.

"Oh! You’ve co, Theodore. I was just about to pick you up." Roderick appeared from the open door.

Roderick invited Theodore into the room and showed him where to sit. anwhile, Theodore remained silent and followed Roderick.

As Theodore sat down, he could see Victor already glaring at him. He tried to ignore the sharp gaze and chose to turn to Roderick, who was sitting next to him.

"Am I late? I had a feeling I left early from ho," Theodore whispered to Roderick.

"Actually, it doesn’t matter; it’s just that the captain has been waiting for you since earlier," Roderick explained with a grimace. He also felt that his captain had been acting a little strange lately.

Theodore shook his head softly as he heard Roderick’s explanation. From what Theodore observed, it turned out that there were many people in this room. One of the ones he recognized besides Victor and Roderick was Noah.

In addition, Theodore also realized that all the awakened people who had previously participated in Doctor Christopher’s rescue mission were also there. They were gathered here to discuss their next mission.

"Since everyone is already here, I’ll start talking about the important matter that happened in our base." Victor began to speak in a heavy voice.

Everyone focused their eyes on Victor, who was looking very serious.

"I’m sure so of you haven’t heard this news, but cri in the base is rising. I’ve received many murder cases in the northern area of the base," Victor explained later.

"We military people can’t just punish the people who commit murders inside the base. Earlier, because most of the soldiers left the base to perform their missions, the security inside the base decreased drastically." Victor let out a long sigh as he explained this situation.

"So for the next little while, I expect the people who are here today to help monitor the movents of the people in the base," Victor continued.

When Theodore heard that, he could not help but be surprised. He did not expect the cri rate in city A base to be this high.
