As Theodore and Geoffrey were just about to leave the main base, they t Roxanne, who was heading towards the main base with so friends. Geoffrey imdiately went to his older sister.
"I was just about to co get you," Geoffrey said when Roxanne saw him.
"You guys are here too. I was just about to have lunch with my friends in the cafeteria. Do you want to co?" Roxanne imdiately invited Geoffrey and Theodore to co with her.
Geoffrey and Theodore imdiately looked at each other when they heard Roxanne’s words. Geoffrey, who already knew that they would be subtly robbed by the soldiers guarding the canteen, did his best to prevent Roxanne from falling into the sa hole as him.
Geoffrey quickly walked up to Roxanne and pulled her hand while making a pleading face.
"Can you co ho with us? I’m not feeling well. I think I’m still exhausted since we just got back from outside the base," Geoffrey said, forced to embarrass himself so that he could prevent Roxanne from eating in the cafeteria.
The people who ca with Roxanne did not feel suspicious when Geoffrey invited Roxanne to return to the brand’s apartnt.
"You can go ho with your little brother. We can et again later," one of Roxanne’s friends said that it didn’t matter if she wanted to go.
"It’s a pity we didn’t get to chat much today. I hope we can chat again so other ti," Roxanne replied, finally obeying Geoffrey’s words and following him ho.
"See you later!" The people who ca with Roxanne slowly left them and walked into the main base area.
After ensuring they had walked away, Roxanne imdiately turned to Geoffrey, still pretending to be sick while holding his arm.
"Why are you acting like that? I know you can’t be sick. Tell what’s really going on," Roxanne said while glaring at Geoffrey, who was grinning at the mont.
Geoffrey quickly released his grip from Roxanne’s hand and shrugged his shoulders indifferently, not wanting to speak there.
"We’d better go back to the apartnt first. It’s not too safe to talk about important matters in a public space like this," Theodore finally interrupted their argunt; he invited them to return to their apartnt first.
"Alright, let’s go back." Roxanne nodded her head and walked together.
As they walked back to the apartnt, they saw many people setting up stalls in the middle of the street. Many of them were offering daily necessities and asking for paynt in groceries.
When he saw the people opening stalls, Theodore thought of selling his harvested vegetables and fruits; that way, he could obtain so useful items.
It’s just that Theodore also felt that soone would suspect him if he sold items like vegetables and fruits because they didn’t have a long shelf life.
"Should we sell so of our food supplies?" Geoffrey, who saw the stalls, considered selling so of their groceries.
"It doesn’t seem necessary for now. We still don’t need the items they are selling," Roxanne replied, shaking her head. She felt no need to interact with those people for now.
"I’m just reminding you to be careful when dealing with people selling on the streets," Theodore told them in a low voice, not wanting to offend the people selling on the streets.
"Why is that?" Roxanne turned her head towards Theodore in confusion.
"We can’t trust anyone right now. They might attack you with their group when they see you carrying so much food," Theodore explained, shrugging his shoulders indifferently.
Geoffrey and Roxanne were surprised when they heard Theodore’s explanation. They hadn’t thought that far ahead, and what Theodore said made sense.
Even though they had lived in the apocalypse for a long ti, they were still innocent and naive; if Roxanne and Geoffrey hadn’t t Theodore, they were sure they would have been killed by now, either by zombies or by other humans.
"Don’t forget to bring your weapons wherever you go. At least you can defend yourself if soone has bad intentions," Theodore explained later.
They continued their journey back to the apartnt. And they decided to gather at Theodore’s apartnt.
Because they had often visited each other’s apartnts, Roxanne and Geoffrey were already comfortable back at Theodore’s apartnt. They both comfortably sat on the sofa.
Theodore went to the kitchen to get the juice from the refrigerator and three glasses and then walked back to the living room where Roxanne and Geoffrey were.
"Drink first, I’m sure you’re thirsty." Theodore placed the tray of juice and glasses on the table.
Theodore then placed a large bowl from his sacred dinsion on the table. Then, he took out the harvested cherry tomatoes and put them towards the bowl on the table.
"Wow! How did you do that?!" Geoffrey’s eyes lit up when he saw what Theodore did.
"Can we eat this?" Roxanne couldn’t contain her enthusiasm when she saw the fresh cherry tomatoes coming out of Theodore’s hand.
"I deliberately took them out for you to eat. We can discuss while we eat," Theodore replied casually.
Geoffrey and Roxanne were no longer reluctant to enjoy their ti. Theodore was also happy that his quiet house beca lively because of the two of them.
"It’s a good thing you didn’t eat at the cafeteria; otherwise, you’d regret it like I did!" Geoffrey suddenly rembered what he wanted to say to his older sister.
"I’m still confused about what you did earlier. What’s the matter in the cafeteria? I heard that people were making a fuss about it," Roxanne said, still confused about what Geoffrey ant.
Geoffrey then explained what had upset him and said he was very sorry he had decided to have lunch in the cafeteria.
From the side, Theodore just nodded and agreed with Geoffrey’s words so Roxanne would believe the boy’s words.
"Then, why did the leader ask to eat there?" Roxanne beca even more confused after Geoffrey told her what happened in the cafeteria.
Roxanne ca to the main headquarters cafeteria at the chairman’s invitation; if the cafeteria had already been crowded, the chairman would have known this, and he should have forbidden her to eat there.
"Looks like you should be careful with that person you call the leader," said Theodore, trying to warn Roxanne.
"Sis Theo is right, sis! What if that person you call the chairman has bad intentions towards you?!" Geoffrey agreed with Theodore’s words.
"There is indeed a point. Not to ntion, I’m also quite suspicious of what he said today," Roxanne replied while thinking about her conversation with the leader.
Theodore also beca curious about what Roxanne and this person called the leader were discussing.
