"In this broken world, what did you expect?" Theodore rolled his eyes as he saw Geoffrey complaining about their journey, who kept experiencing unexpected interruptions.

"Then should we go down to scout?" Geoffrey, who was already fully awake, asked whether they should go downstairs.

"For now, we’d better scout here." Theodore decided to stay upstairs.

It was indeed more convenient to do reconnaissance upstairs than they had to go downstairs directly. Theodore himself was also still suspicious of the injured woman. She could have injured Roxanne when he and Geoffrey went downstairs.

"Alright then. How many people are there who might have co after that sister?" Geoffrey glanced at the woman whose na they did not know.

The strange woman who heard Geoffrey’s words also intended to voice this matter. "You can call Jocelyn. The group chasing has about seven mbers," the woman, who introduced herself as Jocelyn, said.

"Wow! There are a lot of people chasing you, Jocelyn! Can we handle them?" Geoffrey turned to Theodore for his assessnt.

"It still seems like it will be difficult for us to fight that many people. Do they have your kind of strength?" Theodore threw another question to Jocelyn.

"There are 4 people who have powers, including . So there are still 3 there," Jocelyn explained while rembering about the mbers of her forr group.

Theodore, Geoffrey, and Roxanne also looked at each other when they heard Jocelyn’s words, and it seed like they were having a troubleso problem at the mont. Not only were they facing seven people, but three of them had powers.

"Should we leave here?" Roxanne also offered her advice to the group because this situation was exceptionally threatening for them at the mont.

"It would be dangerous for us to leave now, considering it’s still night. The zombies out there are especially vicious at this ti of night," Theodore explained while shaking his head.

"But we also can’t stay still if they’re after Jocelyn," Roxanne replied, more worried about the group’s actual state.

They just wanted to return to the base safely, but on the way, they encountered a big problem like this. Roxanne also felt sorry when she saw Jocelyn’s condition, especially considering that she was now being chased by her forr group.

"If the situation becos threatening, we will leave here. For now, it’s better to monitor the surroundings first," Theodore replied after thinking about their current situation.

Roxanne and Geoffrey also nodded their heads in agreent with Theodore’s suggestion. All they could do at the mont was wait. Whether Jocelyn’s group mbers would co to this place or not, they could not say anything now.

Finally, they stayed on the upper floor of the salon while scouting around the salon’s neighbourhood to detect any movent from the people who were chasing Jocelyn there.

. . .

Around three o’clock in the morning, Jocelyn, who had almost fallen asleep due to fatigue, jumped up in surprise from her place with a pale face.

Jocelyn’s sudden movent caused Theodore and the others standing guard around the place to look at her with confused gazes, wondering if sothing had happened to make her overreact like that.

"Did sothing happen, Jocelyn?" Roxanne, a fellow woman, also approached Jocelyn to calm her down and ask about her feelings.

"They’re nearby!" With frightened, rounded eyes, Jocelyn said in a voice that sounded shaky.

"I didn’t feel anything. How do you know that?" Theodore frowned in surprise, as he had not detected a force coming towards them.

"You wouldn’t know it, I’m very familiar with this power. But I don’t know if he already knows I’m here or not," explained Jocelyn, still with a frightened look on her face.

Theodore knew that Jocelyn had great strength and was very confident in her abilities, but now she looked scared, just knowing that the people chasing her were already around them.

Just by thinking about it, Theodore had already guessed that these people were not ordinary people. From what Theodore thought, this group was one of those crazy people who liked to kill or target people for fun.

In an apocalypse world like this, there are only a few won who can survive or defend themselves from zombie attacks. So, the population of won beca less than that of n, and that made many groups deliberately look for so won who needed protection to be exploited.

In Theodore’s previous life, he had often seen events like this, so his first guess about Jocelyn’s current situation was that problem. From Theodore’s guess, it seed that Jocelyn was strong enough to escape the clutches of those who wanted to take advantage of her.

Roxanne, who was near Jocelyn, clearly felt Jocelyn’s body trembling with fear. She also looked worried at Theodore, who was also looking at her.

At that mont, they knew they had to act now because the situation would soon turn dangerous.

Theodore took out his car keys and threw them at Roxanne, "You can drive, right?"

While catching the car keys that Theodore threw at her, Roxanne replied, "Yes, I can. But why are you asking?"

"If it becos dangerous for you to leave here by car, I’ll arrest those people," Theodore explained about the escape plan.

"How so! Then, what about you?" Roxanne was stunned when she heard Theodore’s words.

"I have my own way of finding you guys later. Geoffrey is coming with ." Theodore imdiately called Geoffrey to follow him.

Not daring to contradict Theodore’s words, Geoffrey obediently followed Theodore from behind. Their situation was very serious this ti, so he did not dare to joke.

Theodore pointed out a window and said sothing to Geoffrey.

"Right below this window is where I parked the car. You guys jump from here and help your sister bring Jocelyn into the car. Once inside the car, your job is to find a safe place to hide. Do you understand?" Theodore imdiately gave his instructions to Geoffrey.

"Is it okay for us to jump from the 2nd floor like this?" What worried Geoffrey was the fact that Theodore told him to jump from the 2nd floor.

"Take it easy. You guys will be fine. After finding a safe place, hide there and wait for to co," Theodore explained again.

"Alright, I’ll do as you say!" Although still confused, Geoffrey nodded his head.

After seeing that Geoffrey understood his duty, Theodore took him back to where Roxanne and Jocelyn were. Slowly, Theodore walked closer to Jocelyn, who still looked scared.

When Theodore was nearby, Jocelyn imdiately looked up and said, "They have arrived at this salon!"
