It had been a week since Camille's transformation into a vampire. With Michael's guidance and support, she had finally gained enough control over her urges to go out into the town without fear of attacking the first person she saw.

"This is so weird," Camille murmured as she stepped into the sunlight, feeling its warm rays on her skin. She glanced at her hand, expecting to see it burn, but nothing happened.

She was wearing a Daylight Protection ring, one of several Michael had scavenged from the vampires he had defeated in the bar. He had given her two: one to wear as a ring and another as a pendant on a necklace, serving as a backup in case soone managed to take the first one from her. He had prepared a double-layered potion for ergencies.

"So, where are we going?" Camille asked, her curiosity evident.

Michael's face turned serious. "We can't stay here any longer. This place isn't safe anymore," he replied.

Camille frowned but nodded. "Okay, let pack my bag," she said, turning back toward the house.

Michael stopped her, grabbing her wrist gently. "There's no ti for that," he said, his tone firm. "The vampires have already infiltrated your house. They're waiting for you to show up. I've scoped out the town, and they've got n stationed everywhere. We need to leave now."

Camille's eyes widened, fear and anger mingling in her expression. "So... what, we're just going to run?"

Michael smirked slightly, a hint of mischief in his eyes. "We'll leave in style. You're a vampire now. Just grab soone's car, take the keys, and drive off."

Camille's mouth fell open, shocked. "Are you serious? I can't just steal soone's car!"

Michael shrugged. "Don't worry. We'll make it quick," he said, his confidence unwavering. "Besides," he added with a wink, "it's not stealing if you're borrowing it from a human who won't miss it for a while."

Still skeptical, Camille sighed but nodded. "Fine," she said, her resolve firming. "Let's just get this over with."

As they walked into the town, Camille tried to blend in, her nerves growing with every step. A man standing on the sidewalk noticed her imdiately, his gaze lingering far too long. He was a stocky, unshaven figure who reeked of trouble.

"Hey there, beautiful," the man called, walking toward her with a sleazy grin. "Can I help you with sothing?"

Camille felt a pang of hunger flare up as the scent of his blood reached her nose. She clenched her fists, her body trembling slightly. The man's pulse was loud in her ears, and she unconsciously took a step closer, her gaze darkening.

"Camille, no!" Michael's sharp voice cut through her thoughts. He grabbed her shoulder, pulling her back. "Take a deep breath," he instructed. "Control yourself."

Camille closed her eyes, inhaling deeply. Slowly, she exhaled, the haze of hunger receding. When she opened her eyes, the man was still there, oblivious to what had almost happened.

She forced a smile, her voice steady but cold. "Run away," she said firmly.

The man blinked, confused. "What?"

"I said, run," she repeated, her eyes flashing dangerously. Sothing in her tone made the man hesitate for only a second before he stumbled backward, calmly as he hurried off.

"Not bad," Michael comnted with a grin. "You didn't lose control on your first try. Soone's a quick learner."

" and you unconsciously also compelled him to go away."

Camille let out a shaky laugh, brushing her hair behind her ear. "That was way too close," she admitted.

Michael nodded, guiding her toward a parked car nearby. "Let's get moving before sothing else happens," he said. Opening the car door with ease, he gestured for her to get in.

"Wait," Camille said, raising an eyebrow. "You're a spirit. How are you driving?"

Michael chuckled. "Just because I'm in spirit form doesn't an I can't interact with things, at least with you. whatever you have touched or near it, I can interact with it too."

he found out after living a week with her, her presence allow him to do things he cannot normally in his current spirit form.

Camille slid into the passenger seat as Michael started the car. She glanced at him, a small smile tugging at her lips. "Are you sure you want to drive?"

Michael hesitated, his hands hovering over the wheel as he considered her words. "Now that you ntion it..." he muttered. A car driving itself without a visible driver would definitely raise suspicions. After a brief pause, he sighed. "You're right. You should drive."

He shifted to get out of the seat, but before he could move, Camille placed her hand on his chest, stopping him. She climbed over the console and settled onto his lap, grinning mischievously.

"Relax," she said playfully, adjusting her position. "No one's watching. To everyone else, you're basically invisible—except to ."

Michael raised an eyebrow, a crooked smile forming as he leaned back slightly. "You know, this isn't exactly how I imagined teaching soone to drive."

Camille laughed, her fingers lightly brushing against his as she pushed the accelerator. The car lurched forward, and they sped down the road, the wind whipping through the open window.

As the car sped down the road, leaving the town behind, Camille glanced back through the rear window, her expression heavy with mixed emotions. She sighed softly. "I didn't think I'd leave like this," she murmured, her voice tinged with regret.

Michael, his gaze fixed on the road ahead, didn't miss the sadness in her tone. "Oh, don't worry," he said, his voice calm but laced with an undertone of steel. "We'll co back for our revenge."

His eyes flashed with a dangerous light, anger simring just beneath the surface. He hadn't forgotten how close Camille had co to death. It was just a coincidence that she was alive now—yet not alive at the sa ti. And Michael had no intention of letting those responsible escape.

Camille looked at him, seeing the determination etched on his face. A small, bitter smile played on her lips. "You don't have to do that, they have an army rember," she said quietly, turning her gaze back to the road ahead.
