"You two… you're alive," the man said, his voice trembling slightly as he looked at them. He had been preparing for the worst — possibly so kind of dark resurrection spell. But seeing the purity in their eyes and the natural soul power gently radiating from their small bodies reassured him.

"Phew… I thought so Evil Soul Master had used a twisted technique on your corpses. But you're really alive."

He knelt before them, his expression softening. "I'm sorry… your village is gone. Completely destroyed."

Then he paused, watching the two children closely, seeing their confused expression, he found sothing is wrong. "Wait... do you understand what I'm saying?"

Mo Luochen blinked, pretending to be confused, then replied in a dazed tone, "I… I'm sorry, Uncle. I don't rember anything clearly. What village? Who are you? Where… where are we?"

He acted perfectly — as if the trauma had blocked his mory. Felicia, or rather Huo Xue, glanced at him, hiding a smirk.

'This guy's acting is on point…' she thought, amused. Then her eyes briefly drifted down as she recalled last night in their real bodies.

'Ugh, why am I thinking about that now? I hope he brought his... weapon with him into this world,' she blushed slightly at the thought before shaking her head to clear it.

'Focus, Felicia. This is serious,' she told herself as she returned her attention to the man speaking to them.

"Lord Deacon, I think these kids might have blocked their mories due to trauma," one of the Spirit Masters suggested.

Deacon Ruan nodded thoughtfully. "Yes… that's very likely. No child should have to witness sothing like that."

His expression darkened as he recalled the incident. "The Evil Soul Master was twisted. He drained the life force from that boy by… kissing him. A vile parasitic technique. Disgusting."

He shook his head and sighed. "In any case, you two are safe now. We're heading to Spirit Hall City nearby. I'll personally take responsibility for you, and we'll get you both registered."

Both Mo Luochen and Huo Xue nodded quietly.

Three days later, they arrived at Spirit Hall City.

With Deacon Ruan leading the way, they were brought into the impressive Spirit Temple. The place was filled with statues of legendary soul masters and glowing energy crystals embedded in the walls.

"This is where you'll awaken your Martial Spirits," Deacon Ruan said as he guided them into the awakening hall. "I'll be leaving now. My duty ends here. But don't worry — the elders here will take good care of you from this point on."

He gave them a gentle smile and placed a reassuring hand on both their heads before stepping out.

"Co with ," muttered the old man waiting in the hall. He had a long silver beard and wore a robe embroidered with golden threads — clearly a high-ranking elder of Spirit Hall.

"I wonder what I'll get," Huo Xue whispered to Michael as they followed the elder.

Earlier, they had asked about Martial Spirits, and Deacon Ruan had explained everything — from soul rings and cultivation to the awakening process. Huo Xue had spent the last few days both nervous and excited about what kind of spirit she might receive.

Michael smiled faintly, pretending to be clueless. But he already know the chanics of this world — and had long prepared for this mont.

"It might be a cat," he joked.

"Can you not joke at a ti like this?" she grumbled, elbowing him lightly in the side.

The old man leading them glanced back, a slight smile tugging at his lips. "Their bond is strong. That's either a blessing… or a disaster waiting to happen," he thought.

He turned and waved them toward the large spirit awakening array. "Co, stand in the center of the circle. It's ti."

"I'm going first!" Huo Xue declared as she stepped forward confidently.

The old man nodded, channeling energy through his palms. Stones embedded in the array lit up one by one, glowing with mysterious blue and white runes. The awakening process began.

Huo Xue gasped as energy surged into her. A sudden roar echoed around the room, and from behind her, a magnificent projection ford — a massive lion with a jet-black mane streaked with silver, glowing ruby eyes, and an aura of overwhelming presence.

The old man's eyes widened. "Such majesty… it looks like a king of beasts."

"An incredible Martial Spirit!" he announced aloud.

Michael watched calmly, thinking, 'So it manifested properly… well, I do used a unique Skill for her too. She's going to be terrifying.

It was Lord of Annihilation : Black Divine Lion King, that he bought for her.

"But a Martial Spirit alone is not enough," the elder added. "Now let's check her innate soul power. No matter how rare a Martial Spirit is, without soul power, it's worthless."

"though clearly you have innate Soul power"

He pressed a stone to her hand, and after a mont, it lit up in brilliant white.

"Full innate soul power — Level 10!" the elder exclaid, visibly excited. "Hahaha! You're a true prodigy! With this talent, you'll attract the attention of high-level Spirit Hall masters. I'll personally introduce you to soone important later."

He turned to Michael with interest. "Alright, boy. You're next. Let's see what kind of monster you are hiding."

Michael stepped into the awakening circle.

As soon as the old man began the process, a powerful surge of energy erupted from Michael's body — just as intense as what had happened with Huo Xue. The air trembled, and the awakening stones around him flickered with instability, reacting to sothing deep and ancient.

A vortex of soul power swirled around him, and for a mont it looked like he would manifest sothing equally majestic — perhaps a dragon, or a divine beast.

But then… the light condensed, twisted, and faded into sothing small.

Floating before him was a book — plain, old, and leather-bound. Its cover was deep black, with faint silver patterns forming an intricate design that resembled both runes and circuitry. On the spine, a title shimred in a strange shifting script: Codex of Endless Paths.

"…A book?" Huo Xue said, tilting her head in confusion.

The old man frowned, visibly puzzled. "Hmm… after all that dramatic buildup… it's just… a book?"

Michael looked at the floating object, then smiled faintly to himself. He could feel the depth within it — like an ocean hidden inside a droplet.
