"Why is the old man not here anymore? This is my dicine Hut."

Old Xue laughed heartily and turned back to bow to Qin Yi, "Lord Marquis is not fighting in the war, at the life-and-death mont of battle, how does he find the leisure to return?"

"To take a look."

Qin Yi did not say much, but instead bowed solemnly to Old Xue, "Old Xue, Qin Yi previously wronged you, it was due to the urgency of my wife’s condition that I spoke words I should not have said in haste, I hope you can forgive !"

He was apologizing for the ti when he used the lives of everyone in Taohua Valley to coerce Old Xue into treating Pan’er’s illness.

Old Xue waved his hand nonchalantly, "Not at all, fortunately the old man has not failed his mission and managed to do it."

Old Xue still clearly rembered the madness of Qin Yi when he had uttered those words back then. It looks like an apology now, but if anything had actually happened to Pan’er, that ugly girl, I’m afraid the words today would have been much different!

Thinking of this, Old Xue’s heart turned sowhat cold, yet the smile on his face remained unchanged. He casually exchanged a few more words and then took his leave.

The house was left with only Qin Yi and Su Pan’er.

Old Xue could not help but look back and saw the man who, even in a change of clothes, still could not hide his lethal aura. Yet, he was tenderly caressing the belly of his little woman, his expression so gentle...

As the saying goes, a gentle town is truly the grave of heroes!

Old Xue shook his head and walked away. Without expecting it, he turned back and saw not far off, Little Yan Yan squatting on the ground, tilting her little head and looking puzzled at her parents in the house, pouting her little mouth.

"You little rascal, why are you squatting here? Co on, Grandpa Xue still has lots of tasty treats and fun toys for you, follow !"

Old Xue called out to Little Yan Yan, presuming that the couple inside the house wouldn’t be able to spare her any attention at the mont.

Little Yan Yan tilted her head and gave Old Xue a puzzled look, but still stood up and followed him, "Grandpa Xue, do you know what a princess is?"

"What princess?"

Old Xue was a bit unclear, but once inside the house, he still had his servants bring so pastries for Little Yan Yan to eat.

Little Yan Yan rolled her eyes, "I talked before about wanting to go with daddy, but I heard from the people around my father that he can’t take . Maybe the next ti he cos back, I’ll be of princely honor."

"What!"

This remark made Old Xue gasp, his head spinning.

His old bones couldn’t withstand such a turmoil!

But then he composed himself quickly, pulling Little Yan Yan to the side, "Who did you hear that from? Do you know that such words must not be recklessly spoken outside, otherwise it could bring the calamity of the extermination of our family!"

His words frightened Little Yan Yan into urgently covering her mouth, looking around in shock and imploringly at Old Xue with a pitiful face.

"I shouldn’t say that... Grandpa Xue, you won’t tell anyone, will you?"

"Of course I won’t. But, you must never ntion this to anyone else, do you understand?"

Old Xue instructed her gravely, while internally pondering the possibility of Little Yan Yan’s words, yet he couldn’t help shaking his head.

If Qin Yan Yan were to beco a princess, could it an that Qin Yi was planning to establish himself as a king? Rembering the rumors that had been wildly spreading recently that Qin Yi is an Imperial Prince left in the masses by the forr emperor, with an Imperial Edict to back it, he considered the likelihood of it actually happening.

After much thought, he finally decided it was best to curry favor with Qin Yi.

After all, in the past, he was always close to Qin Yi and knew his background very well. Right now, Qin Yi was in dire need of dicinal ingredients and doctors, providing help in difficult tis was better than adding decoration to what is already perfect!

Having made up his mind, he no longer cared for Little Yan Yan, who was happily eating away, and hurriedly gave his orders.

Soon, everyone in Taohua Valley sprang into action.

Little Yanyan, who was eating pastries at that mont, suddenly gave a sly smile when he couldn’t see!

The deed was done!

On the other side, Su Pan’er was personally setting the dishes for Qin Yi.

After traveling such a long distance continuously, even a body of iron would feel uncomfortable, let alone Qin Yi, who was already exhausted from years of campaigning.

Returning to Pan’er’s side, at this mont he rarely relaxed and opened up his belly to eat plenty of food.

"It’s not easy to get into Taohua Valley, most things here are grown from the local soil. These eggs for the stead egg custard were picked by Little Yanyan from the chicken coop early in the morning. This white flower vegetable was just picked, and this stupid roe deer at, was found by Old Xue’s little apprentice under the cliffs at the end of the valley, and this fish, this River Flower Fish has a sweet taste, probably related to the water quality of Taohua Valley, it just tastes delicious..."

Su Pan’er said softly, while picking food for Qin Yi, she also laughed heartily.

This caused her whole person to be imrsed in a glow of rosy clouds, srizing Qin Yi, who stared at her eyebrows and eyes, his mouth full of food forgotten to be swallowed.

"Why aren’t you eating? Keep eating, there’s still a lot," she said, scooping another big spoonful of stead egg custard into his bowl.

Su Pan’er knew Qin Yi had a big appetite. Soldiers on the march need to eat well to have the energy for battle, don’t they?

Seeing the serene Su Pan’er made Qin Yi smile, and he silently gulped down the food in his mouth. He then picked a golden-yellow fried fish and fed it to Su Pan’er’s lips.

"Pan’er, you eat so too."

"I just ate not long ago, I’m not hungry yet... Alright, I’ll have so."

Eating together with him, Su Pan’er felt very happy. Taking the fish from his chopsticks, she bit into the fish and smiled at him. Before she could even chew, a rush of fishy sll invaded her nostrils, causing a wave of nausea to surge into Su Pan’er’s mouth.

She quickly turned around, retching uncontrollably, and even the fried fish fell to the ground.

"Pan’er..."

Qin Yi was anxious, hurriedly setting down his chopsticks and rushing to support her.

Su Pan’er waved at him, holding back and finally managed to suppress the urge to retch.

"It’s okay now. It’s strange to say, but this child usually is sensible, never as naughty as her sister. Today, for so reason, I suddenly can’t stand the sll of fish."

"Then co back and sit down quickly," he urged.

Qin Yi helped her sit down again and ordered soone to remove the fish: "If you can’t stand the sll, take it away. What do you want to eat? I’ll cook for you."

"It’s alright, it’ll pass. You keep eating," Su Pan’er shook her head.

"What, don’t you trust your husband’s cooking skills? I just want to pamper you, cherish you, and hold you close to my heart..."

Qin Yi raised an eyebrow.

His words made Su Pan’er think of the past when Qin Yi cooked.

"Then serve a bowl of your best noodle soup. I want to eat that."

"Alright, let’s go to the kitchen."

As Qin Yi said, he would do it, and indeed he went into the kitchen to cook noodles for Su Pan’er.

Su Pan’er let him dote on her, watching him quickly work at the stove, kneading the dough, stir-frying the sauce, boiling water, pulling noodles – his every movent fluid like the passing clouds and flowing water. Where was the image of General Qin, the valiant warrior of the battlefield?
